I tried to get a review of my site after acquiring the domain. I had people posting false information that had nothing to to with my company whatsoever. Everyone on the site pretended to be some type of expert but they clearly were not intelligent or tech savvy. There is no moderation whatsoever so anyone can literally post anything without any repercussions. There is definitely a herd mentality in action. I would stay away from this site at all costs. If you're a business just ignore them. Nobody takes anything on there serious.

Wot was a pretty good tool several years ago.
I have been a member for many years.
But now its very unreliable there are so many
Trolls and idiots that are members with multiple accounts
That have the power to rate it makes wot quite useless,
I dont use wot since a few years now.
And as the saying goes you get what you pay for,
Which is nothing. I would advise anyone that takes security
Seriously to buy a Internet security software suite from a well known anti virus software company. Case closed

As a long term wot member and site owner I have experienced wot from both sides. I did have issues with my site, but they were quickly resolved.
There are sometimes problems with manipulation, but everyone is blaming the wrong members. If you check their ratings you will see that being active doesn't automatically give them super powers. The members doing the damage don't usually leave comments, they just rate sites. It does bug me that they have this ability and I believe their rating should be lowered if they don't give an explanation.
Wot doesn't pay people to rate, they don't have the money.
Yes you can buy ratings from other sites, but it wont help you as many of those selling ratings are known to wot staff and have no power, they are conmen.

Useless slow customer support

I contacted them to fix the overall review of my business which was manipulated by single review from one of their team or affiliates to harm my business and drive me in indirect way to premium subscription

Cannot be trusted at all.

WOT stands for Web of Trust. It installs a free browser plugin that identifies every web site that comes up in a search engine with a little doughnut. If the doughnut is agree, it is a safe site. Yellow, be careful and red means stay away, could be dangerous. All the popular browsers are supported. Fantastic safety device.

The "web of trust" site is somewhat good, but I investigated many sites using this system, including my own. I find this site a little shady, because they tend to mark any site that questions "political correctness" as being a "scam/spam" site.

Scam site! Not professional. They will banned account after several days although they are unique and real from different person or IPs. Why people must index their website here? Waste time! Avoid Mywot!

1) Mass rating system. One platinum member can turn a website reputation down from Green to RED!. People rating websites are not customers to write reviews.

2) Some users attack businesses to sell back the Green (good) reputation to that business at a fee.

3) No customer service to complain the fraud.

4) Rude staff when you report the problems to them

5) Any one rate MyWOT on their own website scoreboard will get banned from their website and the comment will be removed. Serious ethical issue.

Mywot i think is one the fastest growing forum and review site online. Many people, including myself, are posting reviews and topics that are very helpful to those people who lives online. As a review site like reviewsofwebsites.com, they give vital informations about websites through posts from an individual. To evaluate whether these websites that we often go to, are all scams and using fraudulent ways.

I like the wot system - it allows me to avoid going to spam sites that I may have otherwise gone to. I am free to use my own judgement and bypass a website if it's blocked and I still want to go. That is the nice thing about it. It is only recommending I avoid some sites, unlike spam controls in some antiviruses where they don't even give you the option to check it out.

Since every customer's opinion is different, you may consider personalizing your reply. You want to make them feel appreciated and show that you're listening to their feedback. You can do this by mentioning the reviewer's name in your response, referencing their comments and customizing your message. This can help you build a personal connection with the customer, which may increase their trust in the company and lead them to make more purchases.

In this time and clime of widespread cyber crime and fraud, my web of trust serves as a forum where people who seek cyber security can get it and help others by sharing experiences and inviting others.

I have been both a follower (feeling like I am being protected) and a victim of WOT.

I am a domainer, and invariably WOT red cards any site that I put up, wether the site is merely informational, declaring that 'we are coming soon.' or just launched, it seems to get socked with ratings that are without comments. Not once have I had any spyware, hooks, or even allowed memberships to these sites. Hence, they are 'do no harm entities' that are usually in the process of being fully built.

My observation is that WOT cross sells 'internet safety products' to nervous web surfers.

I am a MyWOT contributor for a looong time and often rate sites there. I can't see any big problems there. There are a few minor problems like scammers rate their own site positive. And of course there are some false negatives too.

If YOUR site has a wrong bad rating you should contact those who gave you the rating and ask them to reconsider, specially if your site had some violations that you corrected.

You can also go to their forum and post your site in the 'site owners' category.

It's intuitive, easy to use and the chrome extension warns you if you open a dangerous site

TOAST NOTIFICATION
Would be quite practical to have a toast notification giving you information's (score, most voted comments) that pop-up for few second after you open a new site, style "Ghostery".

When I click on "sort by agree" I don't get the right order of the comments.

Very useful addon, i use this for every site i visit, google integration is awesome.
The only addon that isn't manipulated by other companies and governments.

I love Web Of Trust!
When searching for Web sites, I always check the ratings.
I am glad that this is available to Help people stay safe from bad Websites! I think it is a must to use this.
