on 8/28/15Do NOT use them! Their service is terrible, mostly when you have a claim. I was charged for toll violations but they were not willing to share the proof of the toll photo. They wouldn't return my voicemails and when they answered I was always put on hold and finally my call ended up on a voicemail
Don't make a mistake or you will pay dearly. I made a 15 minute error and it cost me $500!
If they do not list the company upfront, you might be better off calling direct. If you have AAA or some other travel service, you may find cheaper rates. If you don't care what you get, then take a chance on an adventure, but if you are really concerned, then book direct. If you compare companies, you may be able to quote the price of one to the other and get them to lower their rates close to what you expect and make sure your credit card company offers insurance for rental cards so you do not have to pay extra at the car rental place. That will save you a good bit right there!
Hello Andrea... we used priceline to book a hotel and we were truly disappointed... but never used and I dont think I would ever use them to rent or book anything again... there are other sites to look into. hotel.com... bookit.com
You cannot trust Priceline. I used them to book a room in San Diego and they gave me a single room with one bed for two people when I asked for two beds and two people. My nephew booked a room for Florence and they confirmed a motel 87 miles away from the city we wanted and they flatly refused to change the booking or refund. My nephew had to straight to his bank and show them what they did and them force the cancellation which was three weeks ahead of time. They are crooked. Booking.com is much better
My experience was positive. After booking, found that rental was with a major company at much less than the advertised price. We rented a small car and upon arrival it was not available and we received a larger, nicer vehicle at no extra charge. The rental company treated us just as if we had booked on their site. We were pleased.
I will never use Price Line again.
I've used Priceline for renting a car, so I can't help you there. As far as hotel rooms go, I'm not going to use Priceline anymore. The guy that answered ahead of me, sounded like he knew what he was talking about. If you can't find any good deals, you could try Priceline. They won't cheat you but there might be something extra that the rental car company might tack on that you weren't expecting. Once it's booked you can't change your mind. Good luck!
I would not. I had a horrible experience with their hotel booking and you need to depend on the car for transportation. Book directly through budget, avis or enterprise sites... search for discount codes on retailmenot.com... you should be able to get something very cheap with peace of mind.
