Sunbasket has been great for our family. We have been using them every week for 3+ years. Ingredients are high quality and fresh. Shipments are well packaged. Menu options strike a good balance between creative new options and keeping weekly favorites available. One thing that also stands out is their customer service - shipments are typically perfect but if there is ever a problem, customer service is easy to access via well designed self service portal, online text messaging with a real human, or phone. Any problems I've had have always been resolved to my satisfaction (ie quick refunds or credits issued, free meals, etc). Highly recommend!
After receiving my first Sun Basket delivery containing rotting, limp produce and herbs, I immediately sent an email to cancel my account and received a confirmation. The next week, I came home to find another delivery on my doorstep that I was charged for! More poor quality ingredients including rotting swiss chard. I called Customer Service and they claimed to have not received my email, although I received a confirmation email from them. Stay away from this terrible company!

Many consider Sunbasket expensive. Truth is, when I go to the grocery store, I pick up all sorts of items I do not need: impulse buying works on me. Having four meals delivered prep-ready each week, I not only feel better, I save time shopping and look forward to a variety of offerings I would never consider on my own. I have learned to be a better cook and I actually believe I save money… Though my husband cannot resist occasionally picking up old standbys. I ignore them, now that Mediterranean gluten-free meals are in the house. Thank you, Sunbasket!

Meals are modest in size- more similar to European proportions than your typical American diet. I have found customer service quite responsive— which is in large part why I have now achieved VIP status and go to the head of the line on service-related calls.

Sunbasket has been exceptional to deal with on a regular basis for many years now. They have such a wide variety of meal options, and on the rare occasion that something has gone awry, they absolutely make it right quickly. I have no complaints
Awesome. Meal quality is great, easy to prepare, with accurate time estimates. Ingredients have all been great quality. Delivery issues will happen with anything these days, and compared to my recent experience with another premium tier meal service, Sunbasket was so great in resolving an issue, taking perhaps 1 minute of my time. Overall, really well done and by far the best of the several meal kits services we've used.

Food is great, the "fresh and ready" options are SO convenient, and the customer service is exemplary! I've been using for several months and have been very satisfied, the this week my order was delayed bu several days due to an issue with FedEx. Not only did they credit my account the amount of the order, they gave me a $100 gift card to a choice of local restaurants as an apology. Wow! Great customer service. I can't recommend Sunbasket any more highly!

The meals are delicious and varied, as well as help us stick to a healthy meal plan than we would otherwise be doing. They come on time each week in sturdy packaging so we know it's fresh. Honestly we just really love this service - it's one less thing to think about each week and we feel good about eating the meals we're getting. Highly recommend!
Easy to use, lots of food options, and always great customer service. The app makes it easy to choose meals and change the defaults it suggests based on your dietary preferences. I also like that they have cuisines from all over the world. Food is extremely fresh and no processed ingredients.

While I did love the menu, quality ingredients and flavor - food was barely cool by the time I received it. Sealed salmon had a leak and juice every where, very smelly after receiving it 28 hours after it was packed up. Had to throw away 2 meals in 2 deliveries. The sauce packages twice came with them popped open and had a mess in the whole box.

I just moved to the Bay Area for an amazing but very demanding new job. Thought I'd make it easier on myself by ordering good healthy food. No dice. The food just never came, but they keep me busy with emails and excuses. Guess I would have known had I read other reviews I'm seeing now. My initial impression of Sun Basket was favorable: however things went downhill pretty fast. Rotten produce, missing ingredients, cheap protein in many options. I so wanted to give them a chance, but enough is enough. Not easy to cancel, still haven't received confirmation.
I have ADHD (inattentive type), which makes planning meals ahead of time virtually impossible. I don't think about food until I'm hungry so I grab whatever is available and quick. During the work week, I ate fast food every day. Now I can eat REAL food without having to give it much thought and get actual nutrition. I have only tried 2 meals so far. They were good but, in my opinion, a little bland. My opinion may change as I grow accustomed to eating healthier.
After staying with sunbasket another week we had no other problems. I started ordering new and unusual dishes rather than some of my favorites. We have really enjoyed everything especially any and all Asian dishes. All food fresh, the sauces are great I've been getting different ones each week.

Still love the menus, this summer the produce freshness slipped to the point that I suspended my deliveries I will go back in the fall. In the meantime Marley spoon has been pretty good about fresh produce

We've been with Sunbasket for several years. The creative menu choices, quality ingredients, and easy preparation instructions make cooking a joy. Whenever there is an issue, their customer service team is extraordinary and always handles things to my satisfaction. Shipping has been an occasional problem but I don't fault Sunbasket for that, and they have helped rectify all shipping issues.
Sunbasket offers fresh and organic ingredients; clear recipe cards; enough vegan options; on-time delivery; good communication; and easy resolution to any issues. I am surprised that the reviews aren't more positive; our experience has been great, and we recommend Sunbasket to friends.
We get a Sunbasket box every single week and we look forward to it. I have tried other meal delivery services and their ingredients, freshness, and unique flavors and meals did not even come close to that of sun basket. In the last five or more years of using it I rarely had a late box or a missing ingredient and everything is always fresh. We love Sunbasket and will continue to use them for a long time! We also love that they have now added the option to buy snacks and proteins. It makes our life so much easier since we both work and are very busy.
Honestly the best meal kit ever- by far. Yes things go wrong from time to time but they make it really easy to resolve issues. Portions are larger than most kits and most meals are quite good and fresh. Some duds but over all I keep coming back to this after trying new options
I went onto sun basket to check out their menu. Somehow without me knowing my account was reactivated. I never received any email or notification. I only found out when my PayPal account was charged $80. I immediately contacted sun basket and out in a claim with PayPal. Of course they did not get back to me until it was too late to cancel the order according to them. I never even received an email letting me know an order had been placed. They have refused to refund my money. I find this to be poor customer service and dishonest business practice. If the only way they can get business is by deceiving people I think it says something about their product. I would advise not going on their site at all.

To be fair to Sun Basket, a lot of people complain about inability to cancel subscription. I was almost there. Took me 25 minutes to finally find the phone number. Links take you nowhere. Finally, found the phone number under Help and it was a breeze. Customer Service was excellent. The few meals we ate were ok. Not the best but not bad. What had me calling to cancel was the first charge that was a full charge. You receive a discount on the first order. Home Chef has much better meals, quality is higher and much more organized in the package. Plus, they are $20 cheaper. They cost $60 a week, my second bill from Sun Basket was $80. I can buy a lot of groceries for $80. They just can't compare to Home Chef and not worth the cost.

Delivery was fine and boxes are well insulated with dry ice so the food stays fresh in hot weather. The non-oven direct meals were a bit involved so prep wasn't quick. Ingredients were all good, healthy and fresh, but unfortunately after perhaps 10 meals, I didn't find any that I'm really interested in eating again. It's not that the food is bad, it's just bland and not wildly delicious as they advertise. I've had Trader Joe's frozen food which while not as healthy, tastes better. Also had an issue with one of the ice bags leaking from the box onto our wood floor, that's annoying and hopefully it hasn't damaged it.

I have been using Home Chef for nearly a year but was inticed by Sunbasket's kid friendly menu and time saving recipes. Unfortunately my first order had spoiled food and the meat cuts were small and very fatty. Sunbasket is not one of the cheaper options out there, and I know that is tied to the organic offering, but if the food arrives spoiled and the basics of packing and delivery are in question it is not a company I want to stick with.
