“You Just Can't Find a Good Writer”

Sir M.

I've placed several orders through this platform and every time the quality is simply so low. Grammar mistakes, wrong vocabulary, wrong and inaccurate information. Zero research. Writers are lazy, provide completely inaccurate information and clearly English is not their native language. Wasted money. Awful experience. Don't waste your money on this platform.

I appreciate the way one can search and find writers of different quality to suit different content needs we have for ourselves or our clients.
The order process is simple and effective.
I wish there would be an automatic notification of writers for new direct or team orders. Many authors don't log into TB every day and if you are on a deadline you need to manually message them so they check their account.

Hi Florian! Thanks so much for your feedback and suggestions! Currently, authors do receive email notifications when they receive a Direct Order. I will put in the suggestion that we also have this happen for Team Orders in the future!

That's nice, Michael. I'm glad you're happy with what you're making on Textbroker. Personally, I make more elsewhere, so I really don't need the little lecture about being serious as a writer. Cheers.

Terrible compensation, I am an English professor, submitted a written sample of my work, and these jokers rated me two out of five stars. Blatant misrepresentation of qualified editors. Run, don't walk away.

As far as the service offered, textbroker is hands down the best option. That's not to say it's not without bugs. Basically publishers list articles they'd like written, then writers claim the articles they'd like to write.

This means that articles may go unwritten. Additionally you've got to hand approve each and every article you order, and some authors do seem to write right into the text box on the Textbroker page, therefor failing to use the spelling and grammar checking tools provided by Microsoft Word.

Overall though, Textbroker.com is a great option for article-writing on the cheap.

It's also a great place to get started working at home as a writer. You will NOT make millions, but you'll get experience, and begin making a name for yourself, building that portfolio, etc.

My experience with TextBroker has been pretty good. Content quality is solid for the price. But... order delivery takes too long and revisions take even longer. It's like the writers don't care when you send them a revision. Take their sweet time to do it. I've moved on to other services like Low Price Articles. A little cheaper than TextBroker and faster too. Article quality is definitely good enough for my blog posts and landing pages. I order roughly 200 articles per month from them and only send 2 or 3 back for revisions. Not bad. If TextBroker would speed things up and lower their prices a tad, I might try them again.

Tip for consumers:
Be patient. Don't expect orders delivered within 24 hours.

Ive been using Textbroker for probably 5 or more years now, and I still find it to be one of the best services out there. And the prices are very competitive compared to what a freelancer would cost. Id highly recommend the service.

If you have great customer service skills, listen to what the editors suggest, you'll make money. Textbroker is a very dynamic content provider to work for. I have nothing but praise to say about this company.

Beer money? Where the hell are you guys drinking? I have been a writer for TextBroker for two and a half years. I currently average $500 while writing for less than 30 hours per week. Sometimes the work for open orders can be lacking, but I have developed regular daily clients and belong to six extremely active teams - so it doesn't matter how much work is available in the open queue.

If you're not serious about being a freelance writing on the site, you won't make much money. I have long since quit my regular job as I make far more now on TextBroker than I did before. If I had a problem with a client, the TextBroker agents responded to me in less than an hour.

I do agree that the editorial staff isn't consistent with reviews, but that's what happens when you have several people reviewing work each with different knowledge and understanding of grammar. As long as you're consistent in your abilities and can write AP style without difficulty, then you don't have much to worry about.

I've written off and on for Textbroker since 2008. The company pays on time every week. For the most part, the editors are okay. Once in a while I've run into an overbearing one, but they don't last long. I've had some terrific clients and I've had some really bad ones. With some experience, it's easy to spot the ones who will insist on revision after revision and still reject an article -- which has happened to me three times in six years. The pay scale is way below pathetic, one or two cents per word, so complaints about the quality of the writing fail to move me to wailing and gnashing my teeth. I've been a writer and editor for more than 20 years. Take a tip from the military. "You can have it fast, you can have it cheap, or you can have it good. Pick any two."

I've been an intermittent user of TB services. I've found the quality average even for the top quality service level hence haven't made heavy use of their service.

I've this month had a demand for a significant payment from TB because I haven't placed a recent order! Would you believe, they expect me to pay to stay on their list of possible clients! I know of no quality company that does this.

In my view that is outrageous so I have removed myself from their list and will not use them again as a matter of principle.

Sorry, NO STARS., but that's not an option on this site so 1* given.

The company claims that all their writers are native english speakers. But that't totally wrong. I have made several article requests in it and all of the articles came rubbish. A 5th grade boy will write better than their so called native speaking writers.

Thank you for your feedback! Textbroker allows any author who is legally able to work in the United States to write on our site. We then rate each author according to their writing skills and abilities. In this case, you chose to place orders at the 2-star level, which is our lowest quality level. We did advise you about the low quality of content that you would receive via email and recommended that you consider placing at a higher quality level prior to activating your order. In the future, we would strongly recommend that you review our quality level information before placing orders on our site. Information about our quality levels can be found in our client FAQ: https://www.textbroker.com/faq/client

Textbroker is horrible. I was a client and the writers suck like crap unless you're paying like 15 dollars per 500 words which is insanely expensive. They also make you send in your photo id and picture of credit card so they can "verify" your order. I mean why should a client go through so much hassle to hire a writer. Stay away clients go somewhere cheaper and easier to work with and they will also not answer your emails.

I have been picking up orders from Textbroker and receiving my weekly pay promptly since June, 2014. If there is a concern or issue, I call customer service and it is handled effectively. Feedback is welcome and received. Textbroker was very clear about their guidelines when I started. They did not offer any false promises. All information about rating and pay has been transparent. I am satisfied with the clients and the editors at Textbroker.

They redesigned and the new design is so horrible, that it is barely usable. So many bugs and frustrations, I am planning to start using freelance sites rather than this. Paid 20K so far for content, the customer support is either not responding or rude and ignorant as hell. I know other people got similar issues as well. This is not how a business should be run.

Just recently I had a review at TB by one of their editors. I received a ruling that was incorrect, grammatically speaking. One of the TB web pages sided with me, but not the editor. Simple call really. Do you capitalize the first letter of a corporate entity such as Coca Cola, or Walt Disney Productions? Naturally, we all know the answer, but not this one editor.

I quickly shot off an email citing the correct answer from one of their own TB web pages, and several days later, guess what?

I got an apology from the editorial staff siding with me. Anyone can make a mistake, but I was stunned that they actually ruled in my favor. That's a first for me at TB, but you see, miracles can happen. LOL

Not good at all in my opinion. This "service" has the worst proposed content I have seen in a long time, and it appears that the site editors and authors have no recognition of the search algorithms used by major search engines like Google, Yahoo, etc. If you take a look at their sample blog texts, you will find that the author(s) appear to have absolutely no concept of SEO or what it takes to be noticed in a generic search since the inception of Google's search algorithms, which have been in place since 2011! The text they submit has a very automated feel to it, as if it is the result of "bot" compilation of numerous pieces of old, stale text parading as "new" content. It also looks like this is just a way to get aspiring authors to work for basically free. I would stay away.

It took me THREE attempts to reach Textbroker to get an answer about a transaction being run twice on my business bank account. When I got frustrated and said that if I didn't hear back from someone, I'd be forced to dispute the transaction with my bank, I was threatened with account suspension and/or closure. I've been a Textbroker client for almost 6 years. I get calls all day, every day from other content providers, looking to take my business from Textbroker, yet I've stayed loyal to them. So please. Close my account. I'll save tons of money, and I'll guess that I'll not get these threats and that the next company may actually appreciate my business.

When I started I was rated a 4. They stopped me without warning for 2 weeks and caused me to lose my apartment because I could not write. They then reduced me to 3 stars which effectively reduced compensation by half. The justifications they gave actually showed that my writing was at least at the 4 star level as that level is defined by them. They also promise to review and rate work on an ongoing basis and they have yet to rate any more work. They really are committing fraud here.

I am disabled, but still have my writing and research abilities. I have written more than 450 articles in the past year for nearly $3,700. I have written, blogs, legal web pages, complete web sites and more. I have several private clients. The editors are smart and helpful. They totally take care of the client side and protect their writers. I get paid into my Paypal account every Friday that I request and have never had one problem. I highly recommend this site for both writers and clients.

Textbroker is a good site for writers. Though the pay scale is not great-- I am rated a 4, which is excellent by their standards, and the pay is just 1.4 cents, they always have work and they pay every week like clockwork. It is possible to upgrade to level 5, which pays a nickel per word, but you have to pass their proofreading test first, and I haven't had time. Good supplemental income for beginners or those who are self-employed as I am and subject to the whims of clients.

I appreciate being able to get the content done quickly but I use Textbroker as a last resort. My work is very research-intensive and many writers do not fully read my instructions, which is frustrating. Some writers take the articles in completely irrelevant directions. It often takes a revision or two to get the work right. Overall, though, the work is satisfactory with some edits.

Sitejabber for Business

Gain trust and grow your business with customer reviews.

From the business

Textbroker is the leading digital content creation site. We bring clients and authors together to create custom content, such as blogs, product descriptions, press releases and more!

Business History

The idea behind Textbroker is to satisfy the growing demand for custom content. As an SEO provider, Textbroker founder Jan Becker-Fochler experienced first-hand the increasing importance of unique content to his clients; after all, unique content leads to a better ranking in search engines, more traffic and more revenue. Then, in 2005, Becker-Fochler came up with the idea to search for authors, motivate them to write, rate the quality of their work and compensate them for their effort. To accomplish this, he commissioned the development of a preliminary version of the Textbroker platform.

Within a short time, thousands of authors eager for the chance to earn money with their writing signed up. In 2007, Textbroker launched the Internet’s first content marketplace. Today, Textbroker authors deliver high-quality product descriptions, blog posts, press releases, social media posts, news stories, and technical articles and a wide variety of other written content to clients around the world. In essence, Textbroker is a better, faster, easier and less expensive way for companies to get freelance written content.
