on 1/27/16Yep. Tradesy are infamous for holding your money! They will also refund a sale without any communication with the seller, they don't even tell you why. Tradesy hooked up with Authenticate First, these people don't know what they are doing. Well the messed up big time with my bag, see it was authenticated by a very reputable company. I have ALL my bags authenticated BEFORE I list for sale and of course have the documentation to prove it. The bag was in perfect shape. Tradesy are ignorant, unprofessional and teamed up with a company (authenticate first) who have their heads where the sun don't shine. Tradesy are totally so unprofessional they have not bothered to send me an email even notifying me of the refund, I only found out when I checked on the sales delivery date to find a little sentence that says "refunded". No explanation why, nor when I can expect my property back. Punks! I am still waiting to receive my bag back. I have read on other sites that Tradesy keep the returns and seller is SOL. One seller was screwed out of 2,500 and never received her property back. Tradesy are shady. Another seller has started a class uit action. It's about time Tradesy were taught a lesson and realized that they have no right to keep sellers property. Apparently they resell the items on another site. The person who started the class usit actin has proof of same. Ironically, although some were refunded allegedly for item being fake, they resell and state that it is authentic. I have removed all my items from this shady scam company.
I hope the class suit action closes this scam company down!
@Karen C. Tradesy has never given anyone money quickly. There is no specific list on designer item money holds and it's very inconsistent. If you sell a Chanel bag, the money is held for three days after it has been delivered. Then you must wait an additional 2 to 5 day transfer time depending on how you choose to receive your money. If you sell a designer of equivalent quality, there may not be a hold on the withdrawl time beyond postal validation but you will still be subjected to the 2 to 5 day transfer time. Nothing is instant nor is anything guaranteed because if at any time the buyer states they want to make a return, Tradesy will debit that money directly from which ever payment source you chose.
It is also false to say that Tradesy will never make a seller refund a buyer. In my most recent transaction, I sold a brand new dress. The buyer wore the dress, spilled red wine or some kind of dark substance all over it and then contacted Tradesy for a refund. The only reason I knew there was a refund is because with no communication whatever from tradesy, my personal bank account, which was to be used for ID verification purposes only had been debited for the full sale amount including the cost of shipping. Four days later I received the damaged dress in the mail as well as banking fee's added to my bank account because a utility bill payment had bounced as a result of the transaction.
In response to this statement, " I think a lot of this wining and negative reviews are by people who themselves are the scammers and they didn't get away with it.", I run a well known, established business. This is how I earn my living. One does not generate a large enough following or have the ability to stay in business by being a scammer. The facts are as plain as day. Your time on Tradesy is limited by how successful they determine you should be on their site. Tradesy is no different than eBay in regards to manipulation of search results and favoritism of corporate institutions. I'm also pretty sure you have noticed a large decline in your product visibility and sales since posting your reply. The reason being is that China is now welcome on Tradesy, and just like eBay, they are being placed before American businesses.
No, you get your money as soon as you ship the item and the tracking number is listed and shows that the item has shipped. The buyer returns an item through Tradesy, not the seller. As long as you item is authentic, as described, Tradesy never makes you refund the seller, they refund or give store credit and this is clearly stated in their policies. They are not the worst, they are a lot less hassle for a seller than eBay. And as long as you are an honest, accurate seller that takes several good photos, you don't have a thing to worry about and neither does the buyer. Good grief. I think a lot of this wining and negative reviews are by people who themselves are the scammers and they didn't get away with it. I've been selling on Tradesy for over a year. I don't sell as big a volume as I do on eBay, but I have experienced no problems. But then I am an honest seller. Go figure.
