on 7/4/15Hi,
I am not comfortable to give my phone number, but if you have any questions I would try to answer with best of my knowledge.
UBER prefer people with job that looking for second job, people with job can not calculate all expenses accurately, and Uber likes that very much, if you like to add all your expenses while you are using your car for any other business than Uber, it is going to be extremely difficult such as mileage, gas, car insurance, car depreciation, phone bill and cost for maintenance only for the time car was used in business.
Drivers whom working for Uber as second job will say, I have to pay for insurance or phone anyway and they don't add this as a factor, bottom line if you like to work exclusively for Uber I suggest look at all issues and how you would have to pay tax before getting in to it.
Under no circumstances believe the Uber advertising as $30 or even $20 an hour income, after taking 20% for UberX, you also need to put 15.3% for tax and social security. Also working for Uber as second job MAY put you in a higher tax bracket and you have to pay much more at the end of the year.
You are not going to get paid for you time, mileage or gas from the moment you accept the call on phone, you only get paid from the moment passengers get in the car until they reach their destination.
You may have to drive few miles to get to pickup point, or if you drop passengers in remote area (very often) you have to get yourself out of there and get to a better spot to get the next call.
I hope I gave you the answer and if you have any other questions please feel free.
Do not work for this company! This company is a terrible company to work for. You spend alot on gas, wear and tear on your vechicle. U make miniumun wage after all your expenses totally not worth it!
Dear Tess, I currently drive for Uber. My experience with Uber is mixed. In Dallas Uber was charging 90 cents per mile and taking 20percent of it, plus1 dollar security fee. For that they extend your insurance cover up to a million dollars. Recently they increased the charges to a dollar a mile. I was also paying them 20 dollars per month for use of Uber phone that connects you to passengers. Uber has been paying people to recruit drivers. So the field is becoming crowded. So now you need to work sustained long hours to keep body and soul together. This is my advice. If you want to work for Uber, be friendly, be nice. Keep your car absolutely clean. Be patient. Do not take a loan to buy a car unless you have other means of paying of the car. If you do but a car for Uber, look for the most fuel efficient. The most lucrative times to work for Uber is weekends and holidays. So if you work part time, and hold down another job during the weekdays to give you steady income that would be good. Deducting expenses will help your taxes if you actually make money some other way or if your spouse makes a sizeable amount. Let someone recommend you. If you do you get $150.00 worth of gas from Uber, and your recomender does too. Be sure you tap your recommender for information and mentorship. If you want me to recommend you here is my code: tpkmx. Be sure not to depend on Uber solely for your income as it will be tough and require long hours of work. As part time it is fun. You get to meet many interesting people. You should be able to make enough fora weeks has money and more if you only work Friday evening, and Saturdays and Sundays. If you need any more infor mation
Yes you can call me 858-230-2012.
I advise you drive for Lyft. Lyft is a more stable and you will make more money.

If there are so many bad reviews why the he** would you even consider driving for them. Are all the bad reviews not a big enough clue?
Hi Tess, sorry I have never been employed by Uber, but keep in mind when reading the reviews that there is 3 sides of the story. I have had a bad experience with Uber and only use them as a last resort.
It's getting better as the fares are going up. Still a huge gap in fares between uber and other competitors. Uber promo code: 1w99g
