on 4/21/16I've been ordering from them for years, I buy all my kids shoes from them. I ran into one or two problems over the years but they were very fast to fix it,. Zulily customer service is fantastic. The delivery process is slow that's true but once you get your goodies you forget about it. Lol
You have good reason to be afraid of a lot of these places but zulily is not one of them.
Keep in mind that Zulily offers several different brands of clothing and other products. Zulily will be good or bad based on how good or bad the brand is that you order. For me, it has been a gamble.
Sometimes the descriptions of the clothing have been lacking important information about the product (e.g. That something is see-through or translucent). Is that the fault of Zulily or the brand? Should Zulily be more careful about the brands it offers?
Once I did not receive an item and I was not fully reimbursed for the item.
And, yes, shipping is pretty slow sometimes, but I do not mind it and Zulily does not purport to offer fast shipping.
So, those would be my reasons why Zulily might get some negative reviews.
I have ordered several items from Zulily and I haven't had a problem. One of the items I ordered, took about a month to get to me, I felt that was a little long, but when I got the product, it was exactly what I ordered and didn't have a problem after that. Just check when the "ship out" date is prior to ordering, would be my only suggestion.
I couldn't believe how many bad reviews Zulily has received! I've been ordering from them for over 3 years. If there is a company you have never heard of on there, look it up and check them out. This past Easter I bought both my girls outfits off of there and they were beautiful with great prices!
Just be aware that you may have forgotten about your item by the time it arrives. Quality is not great - a lot comes from China and it shows. Returns are very difficult. Customer service is spotty. I've moved on to Amazon and am much happier shopping for brands i KNOW are good and can be easily returned.
I honestly can't say why Zulily gets so many bad reviews. I place orders with them at least weekly, and they are one of my absolute favorite online sites to shop. In over 4 years, I have yet to have had one single bad experience. I've had items arrived damaged or incorrect, and never once have I had a problem with Zulily making it right IMMEDIATELY. Seriously, this is a great company.
If you copy/paste a Zullily item into google search you can hunt down where that item is REALLY offered. Whay Zullily does is steal photos from real websites of THEIR merchandise then when someone orders something, they outsource the order to a sweatshop. This is one reason why it takes so long. Sometimes they cannot create anything passable and so you dont even get a terribly made copy. They know they will never return your money so it doesn't matter to them. I have two dresses that look nothing like what i purchased. I did the image search and found the real origins of the Zullily photos. Steer clear. Reviews that claim they've ordered from them for years and never had a problem, or that customer service, for them has been wonderful, are most likely propaganda from QVC/Zullily to confuse people.
Hi Clara,
Save your hard earned $$, trust me on this one. If Zuily spent half as much money as they do on marketing and put it into quality clothing, they'd be better off. On top of it all you must wait until they get enough orders before they even place your order. I'm sure they order cheap clothing from China. Then you wait up to 4 weeks for your items. I never place bad reviews, Zuilly was the first.
Their sizing charts are way off. I ordered cute item for my sister who is normally a size small. When it came in, it was way to big for her. I am normally a size large and it was also too big for me. I am handy for a sewing machine so I went ahead and took in the sides and kept it for myself since they have a no returns policy. Their shipping also takes a very long time (up to six weeks or even more). They say it is to save on shipping, but since I paid $7.95 on one single item, I don't see where the savings is. I pay less on other sites. The item was from some company called Lbisse. When it arrived it also smelled really bad. When I washed it, the smell did come out. For the price the quality was OK. I paid $35.90 for the top ($24.95 + $7.95 shipping). I have gotten quite a few compliments on the top when I have worn it, but only after it has been altered to fit better. I will also say that I did find the exact same top on Ebay and Amazon just in different colors for much less with free or cheaper shipping, so I guess I really didn't get a very good deal after all. If you are going to order, I would recommend you stick with the name brand stuff that you know your size since they have a no return policy.
Hello, I am pleased with ZULILY. Being very new to online shopping, being retired. I tend to take my time and read about the product. I'm never in a hurry and know (dresses for example) measurements I love the Reborn collection. So I purchased one liked the fit, style, materal. Now I'm very happy when something in that collection catches my eye. With so many in need these days if something did not fit not an issue local charity or a friend or seamstress will do. I enjoy waiting for my package to arrive and don't have to run all over the place, tragffic crowds etc to see if I can find something. Saving more money and time shopping Zulily. For me it's a win win HAVE A GREAT TIME SHOPPING. ENJOY THE EXPERINCE. If trying a new line out a smaller lower priced item to see if the quality is what your looking for. Enjoy the EXPERINCE
I liked what I saw as well, I ordered they sent me the wrong item. It was the same pattern, material as the item I had ordered but not what I ordered. Then they acted like they were doing me a special favor by accepting it back. They say they normally Do Not do refunds. So what you get is whatever you get. They do not stand behind their service. Buyers beware.
The most basic answer is that they mostly sell low quality chinese products. There are a few good items, but the vast majority are of poor quality. You really have to do some research in order to find out of the item is the quality you were expecting.
Also, the shipping estimates are very inaccurste, and even if the site says you will recieve an item in a particular amount of time, if they do not have the item in stock, they will wait for a mass of orders, then they place their bulk order, then when they recieve it they will separate and send you your item.
Lastly, the customer service is very poor.
Hi! I personally have been ordering from Zulily for quite some time now, and I absolutely love it. I often see bad reviews based on how long shipping takes sometimes. In my experience, MOST of the time the shipping is very accurate to what they post on the item. Simply look at that, and if you don't want to wait that amount of time, just don't buy it. Zulily sends their orders to the company who made the item, who then ships to Zulily, and only then does your item get shipped to you. So Zulily is dependent on all these companies as well for that. If you are okay with this and the shipping time on your item, then you're good to go!
I'll address quality of items as well. Again, Zulily sells batches of items from different companies. Some are big, well known brands, others not so much. Most are of excellent quality from my experience, but sometimes you just won't like it. It'll not fit right, be poor quality, etc. You'll see this in any store, but here we are talking about a website where you cannot physically preview it before buying. It's just a risk you take. In many many items, I've only been displeased by 4-5 of them. In those cases, Zulily customer service was superb and worked to get me fully compensated, no questions asked.
I have really found some truly unique things on zulily from small or foreign brands that I adore. But keep in mind you're taking a chance, and chances don't always pay off. But zulily WILL work to compensate you, so there's that.
I think the main problem is the time of shipping ( 3 -6 weeks!), the quality of the clothing ( absolutely horrible and most of the kids clothes have chemicals that are illegal in most of the states, so all in all if you want great kids clothes go to the GAP, their things are cheaper, better, nicer and you don't have to wait forever...
Truth is. Almost every item of clothing my daughters got for Christmas in the first time wash. Most of the pictures on shirts were not ironed on at all and came right off. And the pants had little bead type things down the side. Half of them fell off. Very cheaply made items. My experience anyway
I was charged initially for an order that customer service said was not completed but was charged to me. Customer service said it would fall off in a few days? Now I have the new charges now and the incorrect charges have not refunded and I need this taken off as soon as possible please!
Thank you,
Sarah Lange

It helps if you are already familiar with the brand you are ordering, so you are not disappointed if the product is less then satisfactory. I have ordered many things over the years,, and have got a few duds. For the most part though I am a loyal customer to them. The way they curate everything into different categories is done very well. Great customer service. As well. As far as the delivery time that is explained on their website, and when you order it tells you when the item will be shipped, so you can cancel at that point. I do not know why people complain about the delivery time, it tells you when you order. Just don't order from them.
Remember when you would go to the mall and there were department stores, high-end boutiques, specialty stores and then there were cheap stores selling prom dresses, clothing with style but poor quality fabric/construction? Something would catch your eye and you would enter the store and a hard-selling employee would approach and begin talking incessently? They would bring the clothing you saw in the window and it has cheap trim, scratchy lace made from recycled plastic, lightweight thin material that just screamed "cheap"? That is what Zulily is like. Their women's and men's clothing looks good, but beware, most of it is made in China and is pure junk. They have a return policy on many (but not all) items for a store credit and they deduct shipping for sending it back then again for spending your store credit. For a $25 item you may end up being charged $5.99 when you buy the item; $5.99 to return it and $5.99 again when you buy something with the store credit. You end up getting only $7.03 of your original $25 back.
I don't know why Zuzilly has bad reviews, but I can tell you from my own experiences that everything I have ordered from zuzilly has been everything I expected. I bought the spandex denim for half the price and love them. Also purchased tunics from there that fit great. Perhaps bad reviews comes from their policy of no returns, and things do take a little longer in mail, but can honestly say, it's worth the wait!
The jeans I bought with diamonds on the pockets every time I wear them they fall of. They were a waste of money instead of paying $27 would have been better paying $47 on a pair from JCPennys.
The Hanes briefs are well over priced bought these from Walmart at a fraction of their price.
Check everything out before you purchase.
It's a hit or miss with zulilly. I just have a problem with customer service. Try sending a email to them. They never respond. I still never got my credit they owed me. But... I have ordered since and it all depends on the company you order from thru Zulilly. So me stuff quality and some stuff made poorly.
It is a gamble ordering online. I have been ordering for about 2 yrs now. I have had a few issues w some things... a tutu was torn, some of my Christmas decorations were cheaply made or not the size I thought. But partly that is my fault bc if something is priced cheaply then usually there is a reason. Overall I am satisfied w them. I order a lot of toys & play equipment for my daughter and am very satisfied w all of that. I recently ordered her easter dress and it was beautiful on her. Though I have learned my lesson w the sizing on the clothing. But that isn't zulilys fault. As they don't make the clothing. That's the brand. I also check out certain clothing sites before I order. I also ordere kitchen supplies and shoes for myself. The shows are hit & miss. Same w my daughter. But that's what happenes when ordering online from a brand that you have never heard of. Some things are just so cute I can't pass them up then they arrive and its something I probably wouldnt have purchased in the store. But they will be nice to have in the long run. I hope this helps..
I love Zulily. The handbags from Italy are most guilty pleasures, Anna morellini has beautiful bags, if they were in a Department Store, they'd be $500 plus, not $99.99 - shipping slow mail is a customer choice, fast shipment is available. If I have received a piece of clothing that I do not like, I gift it to Goodwill. Zulily is an amazing place to shop, just check your items carefully after checkout, you have about four hours to submit cancellations.
They, of course, show top quality merchandise on their website. But the merchandise they ship is, at least in my case, "seconds". There are no quality guarantees or exchanges for another product, or even for the same one in a quality matching the photo on the website. You are STUCK with whatever they send to you, or you can get "store credit". Customer service is non-existent.
I myself have only ordered 1 blouse from them but it fits me nicely (I'm a plus size). However, it did take more than a month to receive but it came in good condition and it was of good quality (it was a satin blouse not silk but that's ok, seeing as silk is way more expensive and they didn't advertise it as silk anyway).
My suggestion, just buy 1 or 2 items, try something not too expensive at first, double check your order to make sure of what you ordered, read the description of the item and the return policy. Most importantly, take your time deciding. Don't rush it, it is your money after all, right? Have fun shopping! Oh, and stay away from sites that offer super cheap prices... chances are, they are cheaply made and you may not get what you asked for... that's what happened with me when I ordered from Fashion mia. Good luck!
It seems to be it's a gamble, I guess some people actually got decent stuff from Zulily. I ordered several items and only one is of ok quality. Sizes are all over the place, with items from same seller and it's not like you can easily exchange or return most things. I love the designs but quality is just not there on most things I got.
Clara I wrote a bad review about them because I sent a few emails and there was no answer, but the moment I called they took care of the problem and gave me a full refund, on my 4th order I received 2 sandals with different colors I called and they took care of me right away, I take back the bad review and send a A+ review now, thank you,

Clara, people don't choose wisely. Also, they don't read the small print. Some items from Zulily take a long time to be dispatched, and then the delivery process is slow. I have had the most gorgeous items from this site, i couldn't be more delighted with them. I have had a few questions and the customer service team has been brilliant. Just don't buy something for a specific date, and look very carefully at the pictures - find the same thing in a light colour to check detail. Go for things with gathers or stretch so the sizing isn't crucial. In fact, use your common sense! Enjoy.
Clara the bad reviews come from the poor quality and sizing of clothes, for example, if you order xx-large, it would fit a person that is a size small. Do not order from the clothing sites, even if the clothes look good. After three times of been disappointed in the fit of the clothes I ordered, I avoid the clothing sites, even if they look good. The shipping time takes a long time too. Zulily carries a lot of brands that are well-known, there are many good deals that are worth it.
