“Pet Meds has Amazing Customer Service!”

I had ordered a Seresto flea collar and had asked that it be shipped regular USPS 2 to four day shipping. The post office made a mistake (no fault of Pet Meds) and it was somewhere in Illinois after 5 days (I live in FLorida). I explained that the fleas were getting bad and Pet Meds shipped me another collar overnight at no charge and asked that if the original order comes, just write return to sender on the package, and send it back. They have amazing customer service! There was a human that answered the phone, she was intelligent, courteous, and went beyond what I expected in customer service. I will only use them from now on. (By the way, the price was excellent compared to other mail order companies too. I checked).

The worst company to do business with…
The worst company to do business with in my experience. Customer service is deaf...they are on automatic and not fine tuned to customer requests. Even though we repeatedly asked for them to reach out to our vet via the online portal and to not use fax as a contact ( because our vet does not respond to fax requests) they repeatedly faxed RX confirmation requests instead of calling or using the online vet portal system. This resulted in our senior dog not getting the pain meds he requires in a timely fashion and we had to play tag with PetMeds and make constant phone calls to follow up and to track down the status of his pain meds. Now that we have stopped using PetMeds and have unsubscribed from all emails, they are still barraging us with automated emails to refill his meds. We have requested our account and all data to be deleted and to confirm deletion, and they have not. Find another company to do business with, they are completely inept. (They do not even deserve a 1 star but it is required)

I have used them in the past but no more. Across the top of their website they are running a special promo. 50% off flea, tick, and heartworm medicines with the code GREEN50. I had nearly a $400 order in my cart and applied the code. It took off $50, not 50%. I called them and they tell me that it's a misprint. This is deceptive practice as many will go ahead and order not realizing they only got $50 not 50%.

My veterinarian suggested I use Pet Meds for my cat's flea medication. It was my first experience with this company and saying it was a nightmare is an understatement. The purchase was completely mismanaged. I was assured they had all the information necessary from me and my vet to process the order. When I didn't receive the order in the time frame promised, I contacted customer service only to find the order had never been processed. I was then told they would overnight and that time frame was not honored. Their customer service agents are poorly trained. Wait times on the phone range from 20-30 minutes or possibly more. I would discourage all from dealing with this company. It is a frustrating, annoying experience and your pet will suffer from this company's incompetency.

My dog has been on monthly medication, theophylline. They did not ship his February medications. He ran out of the 28th. They did not notify us as to why. When I tried to call about this I was on hold for 30 minutes. I had tried to call yesterday and after 30 minutes was cut off. He has been out of his medication for 3 days. They said they will ship tomorrow on Monday. I hope to get a small supply from my Vet to holp me over.

I've used this company for years for medications for two different dogs. Never had a problem with them, prices were fine, shipping speedy enough and reasonable.

Starting in late 2023 I was unable to print "invoices" for medications which are used to seek rebates or make insurance claims. I have had to wait for half an hour or longer to reach someone in customer service. Still waiting on this simple request to be addressed.

The comments from the representatives have been that the company has had IT issues with a recent upgrade. This seems consistent with an email from the CEO received today apologizing for the issues with customer service and wait times.

Seems to me the email was sent too soon since the website now says there are 21! People in front of me for a chat and an email to customer service was returned as "undeliverable."

These issues have been ongoing now for at least 4 months. I can't recommend using this company when there are other online vet pharmacies that, at least as of now, are not so screwed up.

800petmeds over the course of two years I don't think ever shipped anything on time. Worse, most items, foods in particular, are drop shipped and 800petmeds has no control and often doesn't even know what is going on. The final straw is that their internal systems are hopelessly screwed up. They often just skip shipments without notice when they don't have or cant get an item, no notification. The autoship system will not only skip, but also double fill and double charge you. If you dare complain they ignore you and block you on social media. I will never do business with these people again, it's just hopeless.

Avoid buying from PetMeds if at all possible... I HIGHLY recommend sticking with Chewy and more reliable pet supply companies. I ordered my dog's prescription food 11 days ago and it still has not shipped. The chat function on their website is useless. I have now had multiple agents tell me that they "will have someone from our order specialist dept to contact the vendor to see what is going on with the order and tracking." The agent continued to say, "I do know it does take 2 to 3 business days for the vendor to ship out the order." When you order with Chewy you receive your item at your door 2-3 days after you order it.

Order was a week late, called customer service and got someone who couldn't speak English very well. I couldn't understand him. I hate companies that use foreign customer service. California pet from now on.

Starting in 2024, 800 Pet Meds was a acquired by PetCare Rx for 36 million dollars. Ever since the merge I have had very horrible customer service over the phone. Totally clueless personnel and very loud back round noise in the call center. Phone connection problems, pauses on the phone, very long wait times and reps who don't speak English that well. For many years I spoke to a person over the phone in this country, mainly in their corporate office in Delray, Fl. And never had these problems. It turns out that when I called to order some products for my pet I got a call center in Africa...? When I asked the rep where I was calling she told me I was calling the US. After speaking with her ordering my pet supplies she finally came clean with me and told she works in a call center in Africa. When I received my order through email conformation she didn't apply the correct discount on my order. I guess I will have to eat the $54.73 difference and will never place another pet order with them again. I tried calling them back to maybe get my discount refunded but the phone system states, "your wait time will be 23 minutes".
I just called Chewy and got an English speaking rep located on the US. No wait time!

My order took 6 days before it was even shipped. After a ph call they said they couldn't expedite it. Finally i got an email saying it was shipped USPS. The tracking # was invalid.
When you get great service from amazon and others petmed leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

I inquired seven times about my order and received a different response each time, two of them being quite rude, one being a supervisor. I called again today and learned that the product I ordered a month ago is out of stock. They never let me know this, and I've been waiting for it.

I authorized a charge for 74.99 on my card and finalized the order. Moments later I got a notification from my bank saying I was charged 121.59! The order page still says 74.99 total as well. I reached out to them via email and they told me they would refund me 41.19 in 3 to 7 business days. I found this shady as it still would make my total 5.33 more than I ever authorized, so at this point I told them to just cancel my order all together as I don't feel comfortable doing business with them anymore. A couple hours pass and my card was charged another 14.22 and I have no clue for what! So far this company has charged me 60.74 more than I EVER authorized! I am curious how many people this happen to that don't happen to keep close tabs on their finances! Customer service also did not apologize even once for this issue.

My daughter's kitten developed cherry eye, which is very rare for kittens. She spent 2 days calling or stopping at stores looking for the medication with no luck. I actually found it on PetMeds website. The cost was under $14.00, but they offered overnight shipping for $19.99. With her kitten needing this medication, I paid for overnight shipping. I was extremely upset when I received an email this morning that I would not receive my order until tomorrow. I called customer service and she informed me that they don't do overnight shipping on weekends. I told her there was nothing stated on the website that no overnight shipping was available on weekends. I will never place another order with PetMeds. I am also pretty sure I will not receive any form of contact from PetMeds.

I placed an order on October 29, was assured it would ship in 5-7 "work" days, and it has still not been delivered as of today, November 22. I have called repeatedly, been transferred to an answering machine or service, left messages, and have also sent multiple emails- no response at all. How is this company still in business?

I ordered "pet steps" for my elderly mother's dog. After 40 days with no delivery / no communication, I called the toll free number and was told my order could not ship, because my credit card billing address did not match, my shipping address... Really, and were you going to every contact me about this?

(I don't live with my mom... don't even live in the same state).

I asked for some sort of solution... could I pay via another method? Could I e-mail them a copy of my drivers license?... no, there is no solution.

I asked to speak to a manager and that never happened. What terrible customer service - they should send my mother the stairs FREE just for the total botch job of this order... we're living in the electronic age - there are secure ways to collect payments and allow items to ship to alternative addresses - look at Amazon, eBay, and a million other companies.

Waste of a month!

I ordered a ramp. Was told it was in stock. Never got a tracking number that worked, cannot get in touch with this company--the phone is busy, the "contact us" gets me nowhere. I don't know whether or when this will be delivered. I am beyond frustrated.

I have had a generally good experience with this site... there can be a delay if they have to contact your vet for approval, and please don't accidentally pick your former vet - it'll take even longer... other than that they're usually timely and adding the doggie treats to the box is a nice touch...

I have ordered from this site for over a decade - various dog needs; but have never order from their pharmacy until last month. I have place two orders now in the last couple of weeks with their pharmacy and their service is awful. They blame the vet office for poor communication and both times after a lot of phone calls and research I find for sure that it is 1800PetMeds... and on top of that they argued and argued about their mistake. Dog meds are important. Receiving them in a timely way is important as we all know. So don't use this source for pet meds.

I have previously written about these dreadful business that fails to answer emails, orders or otherwise.
In Australia they would be closed down.
I placed an order with them on 25. 11. 15, my vet emailed the script on the same day (which has been done for previous orders) I have given my credit card details, had a confirmation they would fill the order and nothing since notwithstanding no less than 8 emails to them which they have read as I required a delivery and read receipt. Now placed my order with a reputable business

We are first time users and were quite satisfied. Saved over 20% compared to our local Walmart. Shipping was fast and free even though the additional discount sale took the total below the $39 minimum order. I've found other, cheaper web-sites but wasn't as comfortable with the reviews.

I would give this company minus stars if I could. 1800PetMeds lost/misplaced/mishandled a prescription that was sent with a USPS Priority Mail with tracking, delivery on June 7,2021 verified.
They said they did not get it which of course they did. Follow up customer service was so remiss it was almost laughable. Too ridiculous to describe here in a few words but I'll try... They couldn't care less. They didn't even bother to verify with the vet. Twice they told me they would have their "Pharmacy Management Team" look into it and no response. It got sillier from there. This is the second time they have "not received" one of our prescriptions which is why we use tracking numbers. Negligent handling of original documents like prescriptions (even for dogs) is simply unacceptable. We canceled the order and ordered from another company because we clearly were not going to get it and we do not trust 1800PetMeds to responsibly handle our pets prescriptions.

Just to let you all know... Pet Meds does not purchase their products/prevention from manufacturers. They buy from closed down clinics/businesses. If you are purchasing heartworm prevention, be careful. Pets can still get heartworm while on prevention, rare but it happens. Purchasing through a veterinarian or an online company that buys from the manufacturer is better. If your dog turns up heartworm positive, or positive for intestinal parasites, they will usually cover treatment. I think this site is good for certain products, just not all of them. Just thought I'd share.

Pet Meds charged my card 3 times for the same prescriptions. I have talked to 4 customer reps who all said they would correct the issue. The 4th CR did refund the charges but not the correct amounts. At this point I just give up. I ordered from Pet Meds because I have no time to pick up Medications from my Vet but today I spent all day on the phone with them.

We're very sorry for any inconvenience. When an order is placed using a debit card, your financial institution will automatically place a hold on the funds. Since you subsequently made a change to the shipping on your order, this generated a second pre-authorization. We attempted to contact your bank to help have the second prenote removed, but were unable to complete the call with you and your bank. However, we had the pre-authorization removed through merchant services. As we explained in our letter to you, as a gesture of good faith we have refunded your order in full as well as applying a merchandise credit on your account which you can use for future orders.
