After having problems with 42nd St Photo I finally received resolve.

I received a call form 42nd St Photo today (10/6/18) and the representative was very apologetic, sincerely apologetic and offered to refund the purchase price and a returned label for the defective camera as I requested. I must say it was redressing to get such concern, genuine concern for a company.

After offering to give me what I ask for, a refund, he went on to say that 42nd St Photo would like to earn my business, since I had used them in the past. He offered to personally send the camera making sure it was new in the box. He also offered a financial incentive, which I felt was very generous and a real show of good faith on 42nd St Photo's behalf.

Everyone makes mistakes even companies, but what they do when presented with the mistake is what shows the real character of an individual or in this case a company.

Once the situation came to the attention of someone of authority in the company, 42nd St Photo, the matter was addressed in a manner befitting a reputable company.

I will have no hesitation making further purchases from 42nd St Photo.

My wife is a professional photographer and we know how professionals should act, though it may be hard to find these days. I believe 42nd St Photo has acted in a very professional manner in resolving this problem.

My recommendation when dealing with a problem with any company is get to top, or at least to someone of authority and make your issue clear with that individual. If you get double talk or jibber jabber from the first person move on to the next. There is usually someone who really cares about the company's reputation.

Don't buy anything from them, it's scam. I got ripped off. They sell new cameras on their Parkavevideo.com website but send you a used camera. When you cancel your order they don't want to refund you. They wants to take 20% off the price. When you call them, they put you on hold and hang up on you. They are thieves. Take a good look at their site; they cross out the price to simulate a discount and give exactly the same price below. I bought a Sony A9 from them for $ 2879. After 6 days without news (normal they are waiting to collect your money), I call them to ask for news of my order. The guy on the phone tells me it's a display model. I told him I've buy a new. I told him that it is absolutely noted nowhere. On the website it'swrite "condition new". He tells me that I receive the device the next day. Understanding that I got scammed, I send an email immediately to cancel my order. In return I receive the UPS link for sending my package. I call them several times in vain. They put you on hold and hang up. I receive the camera a few days later. No original box. To try to coax you, they give you a small protective pouch. I'll check the camera counter. It has more than 12,580 photos already on the clock. I try to find an amicable solution with them to avoid suing them and called my lawyer. They hang up on him. He writes them they never unanswered letter. As I will not give up because it is out of the question for me to be ripped off in this way (I saved a long time to pay for this camera) I will get in touch with the fraud and consumer protection departments to denounce them. And I will file a scam complaint.

Terrible experience with this less than reputable retailer. Ordered a Tamron 18-400mm lens on 3/31/22. Advertised price was $599, and that was the only lens choice available for that make and model on their site. Shortly thereafter received a telephone call from a store rep who used bait and switch technique to increase the price. Said that I had ordered "International" version of this lens and that it had plastic mount (which is untrue) and that it had NO warranty (which is also untrue since they all carry 6 year limited warranty for new lens). Since I had no time to research I reluctantly agreed to what appears to be out and out lies regarding their product and price. They added an in-store extended warranty to the product and increased the price to $699! Also indicated they would send revised customer order prior to shipping, which was never received. Plus, they asked if I would desire customer signature required for UPS delivery, which I did, but that was never on the shipping order and the lens was left on the front porch.

I tried several times to reach them via email with no response, attempting to cancel order prior to shipping. They went ahead and shipped anyway and I received the lens on 4/3/22. Box has NOT been opened since it is a birthday gift for household member, so unsure of condition of lens or what was included in box. Reached back out after receipt to request return and was provided a return authorization but that carried a 20% restocking fee which would ultimately negate any original savings.

Due to the poor customer service and less than transparent sales tactic I was just seeking to have the extended warranty charge removed and let the matter go, even though I will never purchase from them again and strongly recommend others heed this warning! They have not responded to my requests.
