Always come on this site when looking for a new camera to purchase or see one in a store i wish to get information on. Very thorough reviews, detailed pictures and informative comparison charts. Appreciate the volume of cameras reviewed.
The forums are a pig sty. Someone made suggestions on how to improve the moderation and they were mocked. I tried to defend that the person making the suggestions and my comments were censored for bogus reasons. The forums are run like a UFC match. They have an ignore function which only serves to tie one's hands behind their back. The users ignored can still read everything you write and attack it and you. What exactly is the point? Apparently, many of the commenters want to see flame wars. And the moderators encourage it. But the censorship for writing any criticism of how the site is run goes too far.

Probably the best place you can go on the internet when you want to buy a digital camera. The reviews and the tests are excellent. So far I bought 3 digital cameras and I made my selection every time based on the information on this site.
If you have a question, you can ask in their forums, you'll get a quick and accurate answer from the community. Overall a very useful site, I'll use it again before my next camera purchase.
Found out lots of useful information on how to select the perfect camera. I think this is a great site for people who do photography as a hobby but if you are just looking for a cool point and shoot camera then this site is a little bit overwhelming
I wouldn't buy a camera without looking at this site first. I've purchased 3 or 4 after reviewing the information they provide. My favorite feature is the set of photos they take for each camera, makes it so easy to compare when you're looking for specifics, e.g. macro.
A few years ago, I bought a Panasonic FZ30. I had spent HOURS at dpreview researching what was available. The charts, pictures, specs and feedback from for other users helped me to make an informed decision.
As the review stated, this camera took excellent daylight photo's but was not so good in dim settings. The review and what i experienced were exactly the same.
Next time I consider a new camera, I will always consult this great site!

I am a wildlife photographer, every time I search to find new upcoming camera and its specifications from dpreview.com. Dpreview.com is given the opportunity to find new arrivals in the market. Also many people attracted to site especially media related persons very useful to collect information about new technology and comparing camera with other model.
And that tells you all you need to know. Some of the articles are interesting (but largely available elsewhere), many are irrelevant to photography or just recycling other people's PR. You'll have to decide for yourself to what extent you trust the product reviews on a site owned by Amazon. There's a famous Ferengi mantra that may apply.
I am amazed how few reviews this reputable digital camera site has! It's totally unfair! Dpreview is a fantastic site that is a must to visit if you are looking for a new camera. It has most of the cameras on the market reviewed and those reviews are well organized for both novice and expert user. I love this site and always go for information there if I need an opinion on a camera.
When I asked my friend for help in choosing a camera, he introduced dpreview to me. As a amateur, I was overwhelmed with information and I didn't know there are some much to know about a camera other than clarity!
Many useful reviews that are very detailed to help anyone to choose the best camera for themselves!
Great hangout place for photographers and amateur photographers. We mostly talk about equipment on this site and there is not much actual discussion of photography or techniques. I usually go here before I buy a new lens or camera to hear what other photographers think of the equipment before I spend my money.
I enjoy photography, especially wildlife photography. I have impressed a little bit more from my expectations about the website Dpreview which is good enough for a basic photographer. I do not have much talent in photography; it might be the reason for why I am a little bit confused too about the information on the accessories of digital cameras in the site.
Best place to find a new camera - This is probably the best place on the web where you can discuss the latest cameras. It doesn't have much about technique or style, but you can discuss the gear. It is also a great place to find out about the latest and greatest equipment.
The forums on Dpreview are really good. People really know their stuff, and consistently give good advice on cameras, lenses, accessories, and the site regularly provides professional reviews of all the newest equipment
Great site to find the perfect camera - This is a great site to interact with other people and find the best cameras on the market. Phil Askey the site owner does a good job keeping everything up to date.
I and my friends are using this www.dpreview.com online service when we are moving to a new camera. This service is providing a detailed review on every product and proper images of the product. So this is helping to understand the product properly. So this is a best site for who are looking for a best camera.
I am sure most people know about this website, you type camera reviews and it is at the top of the First Google Page. No, wonder it's review helped me decide my first DSLR Canon 350d. Good job, keep it up...
Equipment reviews are the best and most comprehensive available.
The user interface (especially the forums) is not the greatest but is tolerable once you get used to it.
The forums are full of rabid fanboys, brand slaves and assorted nut-jobs so beware.
There is the occasional nugget of valuable experience on the forums from some of the experienced and knowledgable photographers who have managed to survive the flames and trolling.
I purchase my very first camera from this store and after almost 2 years it's still working fine. If you're looking for high quality cameras with affordable prices, you should check this out!
The need to know before you buy - The site is OK alot of ads throughout which I didn't realize they were just ads til I clicked them. Ofcourse they will have the best reviews, but going to the ads connected me to the info I wanted.
Incredible resource to fine the perfect camera for you. The buying guide where you can select the features you want is fantastic, I wish there was one like that for autos and appliances.
