I have learned a hard way what is behind Acronis "standard 30 days before the new version policy." It means that once your 1 year "support program" expires, you have no chance to get Acronis bugged software fixed. I requested a fix for a known bug described in https://kb.acronis.com/content/58827. The answer was: "As per the records I see your support program for Acronis True Image 2017 by Acronis has expired. It is quite unfortunate for me to inform you that we will not be able to provide you support unless you purchase PPI (Pay Per Incident)"...
Data backups contain critical information and Acronis is not the easiest product to use yet technical support is almost impossible to contact. I think it is based in Germany but that should not be relevant.

I believe it to be a solid and stable product but its user interface is complicated by the fact that online help is non-existent. A chat service would be a bonus.

This company has been trouble for the past decade and they have gotten away with it. Cheap software quality and expensive promises. A cash cow for the management, a potentially fatal data disaster for everyone. A waste of time at any rate.
Acronis Backup Advanced 12.5 shredded my tape backups and damaged random hard disk drive data. (I only connected the dots when I realized they have a file watchdog running in the background.) Their support is a joke, an outright insult. At times I had the impression I already knew more than those so-called experts.
It is 2019 and it is still true! They sell you unfinished and faulty software products. I wish I had been warned before. This software should be banned from use in the entire Western World! Spread the word out loud!

Acronis support is lacking or non existent. Out of 4 months I've been with them I have had limited to NO response for help from the company. The product has been failing for 3 months and they fix it for a SHORT period of time then it goes back to not working again. Due to my wasted time babysitting the product I asked for a refund. Crickets is the response. Nothing. It is sad a LARGE company like this takes your money and doesn't care after that. Be aware, the support you will receive is almost absent. We have been in the IT industry for OVER 26 years and have few companies treat us like this.

Best of luck, support is terrible and if you have any problems with them, they REFUSE to refund anything. It's a situation where they have NO issue taking your money, but will not support you before or after purchase. I should have took a clue at the start when it took me 2 weeks to get a response from the company BEFORE I purchased.

For a month a backup would not work despite my reaching out to Acronis support. It seems that they don't escalate. They just hope the problem will go away. Finally I uninstalled Acronis and started a new backup which which has not failed BUT with 2.4 TB to back time remaining is supposedly 127 d 8h. The calculated time keeps getting longer. So far it seems to take about 10 days for 100 GB, so it will be about 240 days for 2.4 TB. That is about 8 months! Supposedly I have a subscription to unlimited space and I would has like to keep a backup of my external drive with time machine backups. I guess that would be another 8 months. Obviously unacceptable. My subscription is up in 3 weeks. I am still waiting to see if Acronis support will come up with a credible fix before then. In any case cancel automatic renewal. Maybe Acronis has decided to dump individuals for large enterprises. If so they will have succeeded with me.
On 1/18/2017 we bought an upgrade to Acronis True Image 2017 New Generation for 3 computers. The uggrade price was an amazingly low $19.99, including 1TB of cloud storage. But, as of this 4/28/2017 Acronis has made no effort to correct such a simple bug as failure of Media Builder to respond. Acronis replies to email questions have all been non-responsive boiler-plate. For now we stick with Acronis True Image 2015. It works with XP through W10. We have been using Acronis True Image 2015 v18. 0. 0. 6613 with XP and W7 since it became available. The basic features we have used on this build have worked reliably. We have not comprehensively tested all features.
In 2020 we switched to using Macrium Reflect for image backups. It is very easy to use and well supported by the UK author.
After purchasing their service, what it was supposed to accomplished, didn't! So we called their 800 number. An agent asked that we let him do a remote session to fix the problem, and sadly we agreed to it. After about one hour of him trying to help us, we suddenly realized that things were getting worse instead of better. We lost access to our information. After another hour of him trying to fix what he admitted went wrong because of what he had done, he finally said that he could not fix it unless we downloaded our software again. At this point our frustration was past the point of letting this guy continue; already costing the company man hours and surely more to have the Surface Pro repaired. We took it to Best Buy and the software needed to be reinstalled, but unfortunately we lost everything, even QuickBooks. The cost to the company by was hundreds of dollars. While Acronis admitted their mistake and apologized, they only offered a 3 month extension of our 1 year subscription... which would amount to $10?
I'm sure this company has probably provided their service for others with success, but I strongly suggest using other options, or at the very least DO NOT DO A REMOTE SESSION WITH THIS COMPANY!
This program is the good one to help me when using the Hiren OS, a lot of problems solved, there are a lot of similar programs, but that one is the best
Acronis software partially has horrible quality and they even blew our LTO tape stronghold. Be careful to trust Acronis with your valuable data.
I opened a case ******* and never had a solution, nor a refund the worst software that I have used, worst service/technical help.
If you are an MSP - I strongly recommend NOT using Acronis Cloud Backup. On April 8th we started a data recovery (online download). The image we were downloading was 1.2 TB. I can understand a day or two to get the entire 1.2TB - today is April 13th and we are at 80%. To ensure it was not our systems we attempted to download another image onto another computer from a different IP location - Both locations have GB bandwidth. Our top download speed has been 126KB - Just over 2x dialup. We have contacted Acronis countless times but they have no clue. We spoke to management teams to have them start a local Disk backup to have it shipped to us - unfortunately they don't work on weekends so we never got our drive as they promised and the weekend support team is incapable of reaching anyone from management or the NOC team to provide a status update.
At this point we have no expectation that we will get any type of effective notification until Monday - a full 8 days since this started.
DO NOT USE ACRONIS - it may backup your data, but god forbid you actually need it back. I will update this review with more as it comes. I also recorded our conversation with Acronis and will post it just so you the readers can see for your self how pathetic their support is.
I have been providing IT services for over 15 years - and will NEVER use Acronis again.
You need a PhD in IT and a couple of free weeks to wander through the labyrinthine maze to get this damn program to work.
