Adagio has a rating of 3.4 stars from 16 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally satisfied with their purchases. Adagio ranks 11th among Tea sites.
I have tried over 100 of their teas. They offer inexpensive (yet generously sized) samples of all of their tea varieties. They provide clear descriptions of all of the ingredients in each tea, and seek to educate people about the origins of the tea and the lives of the farmers. Even if I didn't care for a particular tea I tried, I could still tell that it was of high quality (and just not "my thing"). Adagio has a loyalty club that recognizes people who contribute to the community and who are frequent buyers. If you use their website, they'll connect you with "Masters", which are more refined, elevated teas. There are a few that you need to try if you love tea -- check out the Da Hong Pao ("big red robe") Wuyi rock oolong. I just bought a gift set for my best friend. All good, all around!
Ordered from their site directly. My package was delivered to and accepted by an Amazon Center instead of my home as provided in the order. Long story short today is day 5 and I have no product, no refund, no status and no response from Adagio. They are in Customer based business with no phone number to contact them. They rarely respond via email and just keep referring you to days old UPS tracking and try to slough you off onto their abominable worthless website. These guys are bad news

I can't remember how many orders I've placed through adagio, but I've always been happy with each and every one. The teas are fantastic, and they do more than offer simple looseleaf blends, they introduce specialty teas and consistently add more blends.
You can even make your own blends from scratch! And they have a discount system set up which is really generous in how quickly you earn more points, so long as you review your tea! Sure you can get them via purchasing, but reviewing helps others in addition to you.
They even will give you free teas (with purchase) sometimes. I think they even give you a free blend of their Zodiac line with your first purchase.
Overall, adagio feels like a company that loves to treat its customers. My only real downside is that they don't have milk teas for me to buy!
I've placed my six order through Adagio at this point and each purchase has been a pleasant experience. They have a great variety on their website and have really fair prices. Shipping is great and they even offer tracking directly through the website instead of having to find it in an email or something. They have some great deals through-out the year which is usually when I am placing an order.
I seriously love adagio! They have a wide selections of teas that ship quickly and they offer a number of incentives. For example, if you post to facebook that you've ordered something they take a percentage off of your bill. They also have a point system for every dollar you spend, which works out to $10 off after you've spent $100. As far as I can tell they don't start you back at 0 points at the beginning of the year or anything.
I was an Adagio customer for a year and a half. I enjoyed connecting with my family across the miles by sharing the Communitea monthly tea club and found several favorites to order separately. My most recent delivery was stolen. Upon notifying Adagio, I received a cut and paste reply about reporting the theft to police and the carrier but they refused to re-ship or refund my order. I sent a second email outlining my longtime loyalty and requesting they remedy the situation, to which I received the same cut and paste email. There is no customer service phone number and the online chat is pre-loaded with form replies rather than being staffed by a real representative. Good tea but abysmal service

I've had better tasting tea from a grocery store. I had sampled every single oolong tea they sell and, they all tasted like a light green tea that wasn't steeped long enough. Oolong is suppose to be malt, woody, smokey flavour and I didn't taste any of that in any of their oolongs. Ive had keurig pods that tasted better than their teas.

I've been recently getting into drinking loose leaf teas and came across Adagio Teas, naturally. They're sort of like Teavana/David's Tea/etc with a similar type of assortment and appeal but what really got me interested was their custom fan blended teas you can order by pretty much any interest you can think of. The BBC Sherlock series interested me, as did Batman... and probably other ones. But you can also order simple blends like Pink Lemonade, or Strawberry Cupcake. I even tested their custom blend DIY feature and it's nifty, though you can only blend 3 types of teas + a scoop of something else which may or may not be limiting. For beginners, I suppose more than 3 might make the tea too disharmonious but I can see for example how chocolate, almond, cherry and a base black would be a good blend. At the time I ordered, I got a $5 off coupon for my first order. The items were shipped promptly and everything was correct. As for the teas themselves, I think that they're decent but I have had better (not a snob thing just honesty). However, I would definitely try some of their fan blends again and flavored blends.
So I ordered $65 of tea from Adagio and when I received it there was some kind of wire, about 4 inches long, in one of the bags of tea. I wrote to Adagio asking for a complete refund. They replied they would send me another bag of tea and that they "try to make sure" that any foreign objects are taken out of their tea before it goes out... which I thought was a rather strange way to word it. What really turned me totally off with them was that I had made it extremely clear that only a refund would do and they completely, totally ignored what I said and did what they felt like doing. Why on earth would I want MORE of their tea when I had to throw the $65 worth I had already purchased away, which I also made clear? Although I had written that I would not post any negative reviews if I were to receive a refund because I was convinced, at the time, that what had happened to me was a fluke, the casual arrogance in their choice to completely ignore my wishes and keep my money for a product that is an actual physical safety hazard is simply not acceptable to me. Their strangely cavalier acceptance of the existence of foreign materials in their tea really bothered me and made me think that this seems to be something they have dealt with before, and for that reason I am posting this review, because I feel this is something other consumers should be made aware of. Occasionally I make tea the Chinese way, by simply sprinkling the tea leaves directly into the pot; what if I or my husband had ingested or choked on that wire? Adagio's complete and utter lack of concern for this very real possibility really, really bothers me. I feel it reveals quite a lot about how they really feel about their customers. I relate my experience with Adagio as a warning, because while the effects I suffered were just getting grossed out and being denied a refund, someone else could potentially experience a far more dangerous result. The existence of a 4 inch long piece of twisted wire in a bag of tea presents an extreme health hazard, whether Adagio wants to admit it, or not.

I will never do business with them again.

Have been a loyal customer for many years, absolutely loved their teas, advertised it to my friends and family, gave out samples and swore by their quality and brand. I have never had any issues with my orders and until I did… I never knew they had such horrible customer service and offer no help with order issues, should they arise.
I have set my default address that I've ordered to multiple times, and this order was no different ordering some tea and some gifts for family on Christmas. I get a notification that the teas are delivered but I have nothing in the package room so I go and check on my order…. Only to find out that it was sent to an address I haven't lived at for 4 years… I am sure that I responsible enough to check where I ship my orders, ESPECIALLY on holidays.
I contacted adagio, only to be met with very unhelpful options to contact the people who live at the old address to send the product back for refund or spend $20 for UPS worker to come and pick up the product from the old address (which ultimately means that if the people who currently live there are whiling to help out with the process I'll get my refund and if they're not, I'm basically losing $70 I already spent plus the additional $20 that I'm paying to have the product refunded)
After voicing my concerns about losing money and asking for alternative solutions, I was met with passive aggressive responses that eventually led to Adagio telling me they will not help me any further and will go ahead and close my account.
I strongly believe that it is the fault of the website since I had no intention of changing the address. Even if the mistake was made by a customer, the customer service rep should assist with resolving the issue, not send rude email and threaten to close the account.
I have never encountered such unhelpful, unpleasant customer service at any company.
I will no longer be a customer, and warn others about what feels like a scam at this point, since I've read this happen to others.
It is unfortunate when a customer's behavior is so unreasonable that a company is forced to sever a relationship with her. We pride ourselves on delivering attentive customer service, but if you carelessly send an order to an old address, do not attempt to rectify the situation by canceling your credit card payment. A few more seconds of diligence reviewing the order or its confirmation email would have saved all hours of aggravation. We hope you agree.
The best tea I have ever had, and the website even tracks your package as it reaches you which is a big plus point!
Adagio has most variety of teas, which is delivered directly from farmers. Tea aroma, taste and color is superb, also super strong.
I have been using them for years now, always a great service and the quality of the teas is up there.
