When contacting someone about rehoming a pet, ask for a Youtube link on videos about the pet you want. I adopted out two cats on this site. Videos really provide a lot more info. Shelters in Houston, Texas area are usually full of cats, kittens, dogs and puppies needing homes. Good luck! AG 02/07/2021
This adopt a pet needs to do something different every time that you have a pet that's for you you go to to see it and by the time you want it it's already adopted it's happened with three little dogs also when you call the place in Fort Lauderdale they never pick up the phone ever my best bet for future people just go to Broward go to Broward and you can adopt a pet for free there it cost like 20 bucks they pick up the phone and you can go there in person
Oct 2020 Disabled and had to move to no pet apt. My fur bby Sofie, a cocker spaniel, was picked up by chinese woman. She was not the woman, I had talked to,that adopted her for100.00. Rehome Adopt A Pet had Petco down as a sponsor. I felt safe, after I seen this sponsor. I called several Petco locations the next day,and they all said, never heard of this site before. Live everyday w regret, never knowing what happened to her. Never got to check back w her as promised, about Sofie and how she was doing. I believe the FB page she told me she had was fake, no recent activity, just profile older looking pic w woman holding a cocker spaniel. Cannot get past main page on there site, no info on adoption at all. It's as if I never had account there. They have no support after they get your pet from you. They put people thru misery, that are already going thru this, bc loss of there fur bby. My worst fear, this is animal testing fraudulant site. I had no where to take her, and a shelter I thought would be the worst. PLZ get this place investigated, if anyone has the means, to find out what they do w our pets. FRAUD/BEWARE
This is clearly not a legitimate site. It's difficult to tell what their scam is, exactly, but as others have said, it could be to collect personal information for spamming or perhaps even identity theft (?). One person with whom I texted about a supposed gorgeous, purebred puppy immediately began pressuring me, saying there was someone else who wanted the puppy, and could I commit that instant, and should they tell the other person to forget it, and then they sent me supposed evidence that the other person was about to send $85. Since the adoption fee is $99, and no money is supposed to change hands between the person giving up the pet and the adopter, this all seemed extremely peculiar. When I pointed this out, the scammer said the money was for a delivery fee. The person then demanded again whether I was interested in adopting the puppy, who clearly didn't exist. At that point I stopped responding. There was no discussion of the puppy, her personality, needs, etc. It was all about money. L looked at the site again tonight and saw the same puppy listed with a different person's name as the guardian. I contacted another person who was advertising a puppy. His English was broken, but in a particular way that I have never seen before. A couple of exchanges went smoothly until I asked whether he would meet me one-third of the distance between where we each live, and at that point he became belligerent and said he would not meet me without money up front, and I stopped engaging. Tonight I went onto the site and saw the same pattern of broken English on the listing for another dog. Clearly another scam. I wrote to the supposed CEO of the company twice, informing her about these incidents and never got a response. If this site were simply ineffective, it would just be a waste of time, but because it is fraudulent, and it is unclear precisely what the scammers are up to, other than acquiring money, it is, in my opinion, dangerous. I would advise staying away from it at all costs. There are dozens of legitimate shelters and rescues from which one can adopt a pet, and that's where you should go.
Tried several times and different ways to fill out application to adopt a dog but form keeps freezing at phone number. WILL NOT ACCEPT VALID PHONE NUMBER SO CANNOT ADOPT! SAD!
I had an exceptional experience with Kathy Williams at Camp Merry Sunshine Dog Rescue. From the moment I expressed interest in a dog at her facility, Kathy went above and beyond to ensure that the adoption would be a perfect match for both me and the dog. Despite the geographical distance, as I reside in a different state and could only rely on a picture from the internet, Kathy took it upon herself to thoroughly prepare the dog for the transition. She gave the dog a bath, trimmed its coat, and even sent me additional pictures to provide a better understanding of its appearance.
Kathy's dedication to making the adoption process as smooth as possible was truly remarkable. Understanding that arranging transportation through a company would be challenging for me, she generously offered to meet me halfway without any extra charge. Additionally, Kathy took the initiative to have the dog microchipped, demonstrating her genuine concern for the well-being and safety of the animal.
Throughout the entire adoption process, Kathy consistently prioritized my comfort and satisfaction. She patiently addressed all my inquiries and concerns, ensuring that I was well-informed and at ease every step of the way. I cannot express enough gratitude to Kathy for her professionalism, compassion, and attentiveness.
Since bringing my new companion, June, into my home, she has seamlessly settled in and become an inseparable part of my life. June's favorite place is right by my side, whether it's snuggled between my legs in the recliner or nestled beside me in bed at night. The joy and enrichment that June has brought into my life is immeasurable, and I attribute this happiness to Kathy's unwavering commitment to her work.
Kathy, I am sincerely grateful for the positive impact you have made in both June's life and mine. Your dedication to animal welfare and the genuine care you extend to each and every adoption is truly commendable. May you continue to be blessed for the incredible work you do.
This site is brutal. I've put in for so many pets and never landed one. I think this app is worthless, find another app.
Adopt a Pet is not a viable website. Nearly everything about it is false. Save yourself from the heartbreak.
They refused all my applications to adopt any of the pets they are portraying. But they were accepting my monetary help.
Tip for consumers:
it is fake

Stealing your money making you think they are helping poor animals. Of course they are not ashamed. They should be.
Dreadful organization. They have no phone number to call with issues. If you care about pets avoid them
I was very disapointed by the lack of breakdancing cats. Also morbious was way better. The image below was what i was expecting
