Afterpay is an awesome platform designed to help you purchase items by dividing your purchase to (4) equal payments. They have multiple stores they are partnered with to be able to offer you the payment options and gather more every day. They still in the US not have come as far as the Australia Afterpay platform allowing you to make virtual cards, purchase in all stores and other different merchants but it's getting there just takes time but make sure you check them out.
These guys are just money hungry bustards with absolutely no care factor or loyalty to thier customers what so ever. You cam be a loyal customer for years with perfect payments and when something goes wrong by accident they will.just cut you off for 12months without a care in the world which makes you feel used and unimportant to the company even.though you were probably a customer who helped build the company to where it is today. They don't give a $#*! about thier customers and they don't deserve customers full stop.
I don't think this organization is very ethical, I canceled service but they're keeping $28.00 of my $$.

Afterpay is alluring in that you feel like you're not spending any money, because it's set up for them to auto deduct on a monthly basis. I like this concept, in general, unless an item needs to be returned. Afterpay is horrible about this, and I've wound up having to file a claim with my bank. Not only that, the freeze that they put on my account whilst the dispute was in effect, was not lifted until 7 months later. When I finally realised this, I contacted them. They replied that there was a dispute going on with my bank! It was 7 months ago that this began, and on my end, everything had been sorted! This began an entirely new dispute of back and forth emails with them wanting written letter from my bank proving that the case had been settled. At this point, so many months later, all I was able to provide as proof was a screenshot of my account showing the amount. Then, it took another several weeks for them to finally lift the freeze with annoying emails back and forth. They never took responsibility for delaying the return of my funds. I'll summarise best by the copy/paste below of our second to last exchange before they finally lifted the freeze:
AFTERPAY: 1. Looks like it took a fair bit of time to have those disputed payments reversed/repaid - why was that?
ME: Because afterpay took too long to catch their oversight.
AFTERPAY: 2. Moving forward, how you will avoid the same thing happening again in the future?
ME:I don't have to avoid anything other than fully trusting that afterpay will do their part in a timely and considerate manner.
AFTERPAY: We want to be confident that if/when, we allow you to shop with us again that you will be able to meet the repayment requirements on time, so any further information you can provide would help.
ME: Are you serious? Prove to me one time that I've not "paid on time." That's impossible, considering the money is AUTO-DEDUCTED from my account. Again, you're doing, not mine. Unbelievable.
AFTERPAY: Once I get your reply, we will assess the request and get back to you with an outcome.

I rarely write reviews or anything bad on the internet or social media…. But this last experience with Afterpay I wanted to! My bank account was hacked and my credit card in file was closed. I was waiting for a new card and asked for HELP from Afterpay, to please move the payment date or put it on hold or give me any information how to get a few days to put my new card in use…. They have only email costumer service (no live chat, no phone nothing)…. After 4days,(I was already late 2days with my 3. Payment on the item what I purchase)I get the answer "We understand your frustration, so sorry, hopefully in the future you can pay in time …. Ect. They can't do anything about this late payment because the system not allow to modify anything, also my $800 spending limit decreased (they will overview later may change back)I made over 20 payments the last 2years, never late and this 1 time I was asking for help before is became late and We sorry we can't do this and that and ANYTHING really…….
I'm so disappointed, will finish my last payment and NEVER want to buy anything with Afterpay in the future.

I received an item which was clearly faulty and misleading I have used Afterpay a Million times they do not help you if you have an issue with a Merchant at all they said sorry you had an issue we do not get involved if the Merchant can not refund your or chooses not to you loose your money and we do not step in to assist as we do not have the authority to help...So why is Afterpay still open? The banks do not like Afterpay this was news to me when I called them, they advised close your account do not deal with them I have been advised to only shop with Paypal as they do help you get a refund for misleading clothes or items. I have the money its not an issue to make payment's I usually pay fully on the app before its due date my record is SO PERFECT. 1st complaint and Afterpay abandons you I DO NOT RECOMMEND Afterpay customer service there isn't one NO phone number nothing. I do have proof of purchase and all the pictures relevant to the site and photos of the faulty products I am not showing as I have taken further action to Fair Trading the more complaints they get the better to close company's down doing the wrong thing. Afterpay and Merchants have rights BUYERS DO NOT as it turns out.

If I knew Afterpay was like this I would of purchased with Paypal as they have been doing pay in 4 instalments for sometime but I stayed loyal to Afterpay I have now been sharing my experience everywhere family friends social media are talking about it I told my 1st story today customers are listening as Afterpay says they have buyer protection they DO NOT - phones are disconnected no service just an email sorry can help.
I take this very seriously I do not believe in reviews unless its valid.

Well well well. I first got affiliated with Afterpay in the year 2022. Initially given a $200 shopping credit that shot all the way up to $800 within a 3 month period. Pretty cool I thought. Then in August of 2022, I went out on FMLA from work. I was expecting and did receive short term disability payments, and unfortunately while waiting on the payments to start, my account got behind. Just to add, I never came close to using the shopping credit of $800. So when my payment got behind, I would say it was roughly about $100 to $150 behind. I contacted the customer service at Afterpay, advised them of my situation, provided the necessary documents. I also must advise for being no more than $200 behind, I was treated worse than being late on a mortgage payment for 3 months! After providing all of the information they required, they finally extended me the time I requested to pay the balance. I paid the entire balance before the date that I had ask for and how about Afterpay reinstated me shopping credit of $50 like they were doing me a favor. I could not purchase anything. I felt like no good deed goes unpunished. I reached out again to the customer service at Afterpay concerning the shopping credit and again they graced me with $100 shopping credit and this time they advised me that if I continue to make on time payments I would be eligible for an increase in shopping credit. I mentioned earlier that in 3 months time, I achieved a $800 shopping credit. Since August of 2022, I have not missed a payment, paid my purchases off before time and I am proud to say that as of January, 2023, I have a whopping shopping credit of $200. Afterpay sucks rotten eggs. Like I said no good deed. I could not think of anything else to prove my credit worthiness to them. So, I have one more payment for my current purchase with them that is $34.75 and after the payment is made, I will be deleting the app and concluding my business with Afterpay. They can kindly kiss my hot grits!. Thanks for absolutely nothing. If the company is that afraid of extending shopping credit perhaps the buy now pay later business is not for them. Thank you for letting me share.

You lose your rewards after 2 yrs. If you dnt pay them at 5am, ON the due date, regardless if you pay it ON THE DUE DATE, you get ALL of your rewards taken. They STILL dnt have a customer service number and all they say is "we ate looking into this". I have a payment due TODAY, AND GARANTE, they will NOT respond until AFTER they get THEIR MONEY! But I'm just supposed to "wait" for them to decide they want to do some "customer service". Im telling you be VERY CAREFUL dealing with afterpay. There's ALOT of "hidden" factors with them and they change their "requirements" ALL THE TIME, WITHOUT telling you and expect you to still follow them. Don't expect to keep your rewards after you get to the 2ND MINT TIER. If my payment were late, I wouldn't be where I'm at on the "rewards". USE KLARNA!

I was on the Afterpay app and clicked on Amazon via Afterpay. Prior to finalizing my Amazon order via Afterpay, however, I backed out! Then I signed back up for my Amazon Prime membership, which is a fee of ONLY $16.08! Afterpay immediately took $143.85 out of my checking account, and Afterpay is claiming I still owe another $431.54, in the next 3 additional payments!
Afterpay took money from out of my checking account that for items that are STILL IN MY AMAZON CART! They're still in my Amazon cart, because I NEVER ORDERED THEM! Therefore, not only are my items NOT on the way to me, I CANNOT place my order for those items, because Afterpay ALREADY TOOK MY MONEY OUT for items I DID NOT ORDER! This all took place on Friday October 27th! Afterpay is trying to tell me that I will have to wait until this coming Friday, November the 3rd before I even hear anything back about my $143.85 that they helped themselves to last Friday!
Also, Amazon claims they have NOT received any such payment from Afterpay!
