“Awesome company with morals unlike some...”

Afterpay is an awesome platform designed to help you purchase items by dividing your purchase to (4) equal payments. They have multiple stores they are partnered with to be able to offer you the payment options and gather more every day. They still in the US not have come as far as the Australia Afterpay platform allowing you to make virtual cards, purchase in all stores and other different merchants but it's getting there just takes time but make sure you check them out.

These guys are just money hungry bustards with absolutely no care factor or loyalty to thier customers what so ever. You cam be a loyal customer for years with perfect payments and when something goes wrong by accident they will.just cut you off for 12months without a care in the world which makes you feel used and unimportant to the company even.though you were probably a customer who helped build the company to where it is today. They don't give a $#*! about thier customers and they don't deserve customers full stop.

This company is so hughly unprofessional. They kept over charging orders that weren't mine or they kept double charging my debit. I went to the bank about it but they got the debit collector on me saying i owe them money when all my purchases were paid off. They were RUDE and VERBALLY ABUSIVE towards me the whole time or they hung up on me when I was in the middle of explaining.

Don't waste your money and time with this company at all. They are bunch of HELL HOUNDS who enjoy SCAMMING customers.

I try to recover my AFTERPAY account through thier help line,they transfer me to a company called EXP* NOW JUST ANSWER.COM without my knowledge and l was thinking that l am dealing with afterpay and they asked me to pay $2.00 just to confirm that l am the true account holder and this company put me on their subscription without my knowledge then start taking money from my account monthly.
Guys WATCH OUT AFTERPAY. DON'T GET SCAMMED

I ordered my children school clothes from afterpay my total came out to be 90.03. Once I got wind that my children didn't wear uniforms to school I took back all the items that was no longer needed. Making my new total to come out to be $34.91 afterpay never adjusted my new balance making me pay $90.03 for items I do not have in my possession. I've tried emailing them but no luck I also tried sending them proof that I returned the items back into the store but no luck. Please be careful with using afterpay I was scammed and also had money stolen from me by afterpay I have now filed a bank claim due to this inconvenience they have caused me. This is my last time using them. Also there's no real person to speak with only by email and when you email them they send repeated emails as if it's an robot emailing you. I'm leaving this review to warn everyone not to use them if you return back items you will still have to pay the whole balance even though you no longer have the items in your possession.

I had a spending limit of $600 because I made my payments in time. I attempted to make a purchase on Amazon with a single use cards. Dispute having the funds available to create it, Afterpay never deducted it from my account liken it's supposed to as soon as the card was made. Days later, Amazon prompted me to update my payment method. I attempted to create another card. Same issue. I ended up purchasing with Klarna instead because I had the available funds. When I returned to the app to teach out to customer service, I saw that my spending limit dropped from $600-$0.

I immediately contacted Afterpay. My only option was through a message that takes days to get a reply because they do not have a phone number. I waited 2 days just to receive an automated response. I explained that I had an issue with Amazon and that I make my payments on time. My next response was then telling me I had late payments and refunds. How did I have a late payment on something that I wasn't allowed to purchase? How was I refunded for a purchase that was never made? My actual issue was ignored. Do not use this company.

Worst customer service EVER! THEY REFUSE TO CALL YOU BACK EVEN WHEN YOU HAVE REQUESTED SEVERAL TIMES! THEY LIE ABOUT PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS AND SCREW OVER THEIR CUSTOMERS...JUST DONT DO IT!

I had noticed a charge I did not make on my AfterPay account. When I questioned it, my account was immediately frozen. Was told I did owe the charge. I had no choice but to pay it. Then I was told my account would remain frozen until I paid the entire balance I owed. I paid that balance over two weeks ago. My account is still frozen and there is absolutely no customer service. Messages go unanswered for weeks. I am so disappointed in being lied to. I never had a late payment. I always paid off purchases before they were due. I cannot believe how I have been treated. Customer service is non existent. When you do get a reply, it will be from several people all telling you something different. They are not truthful, I am not able to remove my payment method. I cannot update my own information. It can be a great service, just do not complain about anything. To freeze an account over a charge you did not make and you ask about it, you are done. That is insane. Their investigation? No. They did not investigate…what an outrageous lie. I investigated and I have yet to get any answers, I most certainly did not place the order, and I did not receive the questionable order. I have tried several times, after paying my account in full, to make a purchase. It will start to go through…then a page pops ups telling me my account is frozen. There is no reason for this. None. I have the choice to close my account, but I cannot remove any of my banking information. I cannot close my account and leave them with my information. I would be scared too death to do this. If they freeze your account over a question? I do not trust them at all. This is very bad. I am so disappointed. There are nice people who work for AfterPay, but the bad out weighs the good. I would not recommend this service. There are other companies that provide the same service. It just makes me mad this was done over a question. AfterPay can get by with this type of non service is scary. What else are they capable of? This company is ghetto and untrustworthy.

Stay away from After Pay they are TERRIBLE I purchased a gift card never received the merchandise I contacted AFTER Pay for assistance I was told they have a third party merchant (whom they never mentioned when I purchased the card) they informed me that I had to contact the 3rd party for a refund in the meantime funds are still being deducted from my account after 2 weeks of trying to contact the 3rd party I was told I had to take the gift card despite the fact I didn't receive the merchandise nor did I want to do business with the store that the card was from so your not allowed any refunds on Gift cards I called after pay back asked for a manger an no one ever called back nor does any care that they stole my money they are still trying to take money out of my account for something I never received and Also don't have the gift card I will be filling a complaint with the BBB

This company started in Australia in 2014, I joined them in Oz in 2015. I have just divorced from this mediocre company as of a few days ago. They USED to be great, particularly their customer service. If there was a problem you could ring them and get a friendly helpful person. But no more.

Apparently the company was sold in 2021 to an overseas establishment, it has been downhill since then for us the loyal customers. The "customer service" is now permeated by rude seemingly power drunk dolts who have weird names and think that not answering emails makes them seem like CEO of the Apprentice.

I had used Afterpay for 8 years, had some very large repayments made,up to 800.00 pmonth, and had never missed a single payment. Not once.

Recently, I had to change my email, no big deal. Afterpay turned this into an absolute Bold & Beautiful shindig. No answers to emails, having to prove over and over again who I was. When I could finally log in all my information had been wiped along with the 3,000.00 credit line I have had for years. It was now 600.00, I sent an email asking why, and of course no answer.

I received an email later requesting proof that I had made payments to Afterpay. These dolts and boors are beyond help with IQ'S OF 0.1.

I de-activated my account and I will never be back. Using PayPal pay in 4. It's great
User beware, this company ain't what is used to be.

I was declined from making a purchase with afterpay a long time ago claiming they needed to verify my account by sending n bank statements. I refused because wtf, let me buy my $#*!.

Recently really wanted to make a fat Vuori purchase, and afterpay was the only payment company option. Tried to jump thru their hoops and I sent in 4 STATEMENTS TO PROVE MY LAST 4 PURCHASES AND DRIVERS LICENSE.

It wasn't sufficient for them since my address on my license (issued 5 years ago) didn't match! As if people don't relocate. Had my name but noooo not good enough. They're a joke and I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. No one should be verifying my bank statements except a loan officer for a home.

For the first time, I have a serious issue with Afterpay. I wrote them in hopes of getting help with my purchase from Shein. Shein is deceitful and downright fraudlent. I ordered a 4 pack of wavy hair in 20 inches but they sent me 16, 18, 20 and 14 inches instead. I have been going back and forth with Shein for approximately two weeks. I reached out to Afterpay for help last night only to have a CSR named Diane write me back in a conscending tone to tell me that there was nothing they could do. There is nothing worse than a CSR that is conscending when you have spent your hard earned coins.
She also told me file a formal complaint in the app which did work either because it claimed that it could not verify my identity after several tries.The app completely locked on me and it did it again this morning. Then I went into the actual Afterpay website and tried to file a claim against Shein and again NOTHING.

My statement is if you cannot and will not help customers obtain a refund then you should not have the ability to accept payments. I am not paying for an item that I purchased from Shein that is not as described. You do not have a direct phone number and emailing you takes forever.

Tip for consumers:
Do not expect to get real help unless it is escalated beyond CSR.

I was a customer with Afterpay for four years but no more. They are the absolute worst. They are very unforgiving and rude. I was late twenty four hours with a payment and they lowered my limit to fifty dollars. They also begin your payment schedule from the time you press "submit order" from a vendor which is unfair. The payment schedule should begin from the time the vendor ships out the order. The vendors take advantage of this and ship out whenever they feel like it because they get paid for the transaction right away. Another problem with Afterpay is their so-called rewards program. It's not a rewards program but a punishment instead. You have to make on time payments to move up in the tiered program. This allows you to to change payments dates and the ability not to have to make down payments. This sounds good, but you are only allowed to change a date on one order one time and if you are even a few hours late making a payment you are downgraded to the lowest tier. They are really crooked and shady. I have moved on to Klarna. They are a breath of fresh air! They don't treat you like a criminal if you are a day late making payments, they're customer service is excellent, and they will finance you at any store including Afterpay stores. They also do not begin your payment schedule until your order ships from the retailer. This means one thing: the retailer will ship your order fairly quickly, and not take their time shipping your order unlike with Afterpay. Klarna is the best and Afterpay is the worst!

Afterpaya tried to take $10 of my money by saying my last payment was overdue and was rejected because there was no fund on my card... then I complained because that was not true, where the due date was until today my fund is still there... I tried complained to afterpay he said they could see my card was rejected, so I told them, send me screen shot or anything so i can make because a complaint directly to the bank, i told them i need an evidence for that,,, not just by word or bull$#*! but afterpay immediately silent and said you don't have to pay a late fee, I can provide proof of my bank statement, but they refuse to provide evidence with unclear reasons... then they increase my spending limit... it doesn't make any sense for me... if i can not pay on time, the spending limit should be decreased not increased,,, note to everyone if you use afterpay,,, they try to do miss your payment in purpose so they can take your money by saying insufficient fund on your card, which in this way they do not violate consumer law,,, very good trick,,, just becarefull guys,,, they ignored me now because they can not show me the evidence where i can show my evidence, they scare i used their evidence against them because they are liar..

You can't navigate the app to even cancel it. The worst I have ever used. Could not get my credit card off of their site, so they have my info. DO NOT USE THIS APP!

I bought an item using Aftetpay. I then returned that item to store. The store refunded me, however Afterpay kept charging me and said I needed to pay them back. Wtf? How does this even make sense.

Afterpay has changed a lot. They want you to have the full amount of the merchandise. Why do we need Afterpay. I made two payments.

No technical support. AfterPay worked fine in the beginning, then started trying to take out the FULL amount of the item I was trying to purchase In-Store. It was a large purchase and I had the credit in AfterPay - but even with the correct amount for first payment in two seperate accounts. They still tried to take out the full amount and declined for insufficient funds. When I tried to contact them they reiterated it was insufficient funds, which I gave them documentation to show it wasn't, then they said it must be an issue with my bank (which it wasn't as AfterPay still worked online) I was going round and round in circles. No technical support team and no matter how I tried to explain it they kept acting like I was speaking a foreign language. In the end I accepted I couldn't use Afterpay in store - after they did take a total amount of purchase out which I had to have refunded (where I then realised what was happening) and just stayed with using it online.
I've never had a late payment and currently have no orders left in afterpay. They upped my credit and when I went to use it a few days ago online - it was declined. No. Not doing this again. Dodgy as hell. Tried to close down the service and when I hit the "close account" button it then pretty much says "haha it's only a deactivation, we still have u on file and feel free to reactivate" Honestly. Avoid this mob as much as u can. You WILL get burnt

I bought something online. Afterpay looked like a good deal, so decided to try it out.
Turns out the vendor was a total fraud.
Their email contact registered with Afterpay wasn't legit. The website registered with Afterpay pointed to an unrelated company in another country. So totally fraudulent.
After I gave Afterpay all this info, it took 6 weeks for them to even acknowledge that they needed to look into it. So I opened a dispute with my credit card company.
Then, the next Afterpay payment was coming due, which they said they couldn't waive or suspend.
Finally, I changed my credit card number and let the ****bags know that I wouldn't be paying them a cent.
After another month, the case was resolved in my favor. Duh!
Why didn't they want to promptly verify their vendor, AFTER I sent them all the details of the fraud?
Why did they take so long to get their **** together?
Why did they not at least suspend the 2nd payment when THEY were taking so long to investigate?
NEVER EVER EVER deal with such a scummy company. They do not deserve to exist.
One star is WAY too much for this mess.

If you have the option to use Klarna do not use afterpay… their costumer service is horrible and I've yet to have a bad experience using Klarna. The ONLY reason I still use afterpay is because unfortunately a lot of store have an afterpay option and not Klarna, but if it wasn't for that, I would stop using it as a whole.
