Airbnbclaims that safety is an important topic for them however the reality is that the Airbnb assistance is superficial and when an abnormal situation is experience they have a very unprofessional approach in understanding the situation and to help
Airbnb has the worst customer service I have ever dealt with in my life. No support when things go wrong. I didn't feel safe at a place I rented and check in or stay there. They will not refund the full amount. Was promised a $300 refund, then only give $200. The reservation costed $423. I will never book through them again! This has been a nightmare!
Airbnb's reliability is questionable. I advise against booking with them. They charged my account when they shouldn't have, forcing me to get a new debit card to stop the charges. Don't trust Airbnb with your credit card information. My host, Helen, owned the Airbnb property in Biloxi where we stayed. Her driveway was in dire need of repair, with potholes larger than basketballs, raising concerns about tire damage and car alignment each time we approached the house. Below is some picture of her driveway on Porter Ave in Biloxi. Furthermore, Helen's refrigerator was antiquated and would often flood the kitchen floor, yet she refused to repair it. Additionally, Helen was an unsatisfactory host; despite paying to stay until the 14th, she requested we leave early without offering a refund. I cannot recommend using Airbnb or booking with Helen, who has been aptly described as a 'shark' in another guest's review.
My experience with Airbnb Luxe was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I stepped into my luxurious villa, I was greeted with unparalleled comfort and elegance. Every detail, from the stunning architecture to the impeccable interior design, was thoughtfully curated to create a truly unforgettable experience. The amenities, from private pools to personal chefs, exceeded my expectations and made me feel like royalty. Moreover, the concierge service was exceptional, catering to my every need and ensuring a seamless stay from start to finish. Airbnb Luxe has redefined luxury travel for me, and I can't wait to indulge in another unforgettable experience.
Airbnb has revolutionized the way I travel. The platform offers a wide range of accommodations, from cozy apartments to luxurious villas, often at a fraction of the cost of traditional hotels. I appreciate the ability to connect directly with hosts and the flexibility to book unique and authentic experiences. Airbnb has become my go-to choice for lodging wherever I go
We use Airbnb to reserve a hotel room. Due to border state closure at the time, we had to cancel our reservations. We gave Airbnb 2197 dollars. They have recently returned $1088 to us. We got in touch with them to get our money back and to find out if we could use the money they were still deducting as credit to reserve a hotel for our upcoming vacation.
If you are a host, then I can tell you that this is a great source of income and now is the time to take advantage of the platform. I have been able to multiply my capital X4 within 6 months of starting.
I booked 5 days stay in the 105 unit and end up cannot sleep the whole first night. The tub so dirty, you cannot take a bath, the window AC is old and make a lot noise. I was stacked in the unit, email to the host, he did not care. I sent the pictures and videos to Airbnb and called 3 people, all they did was create a case and sent to a group. I have very bad experience with airbnb, I asked for 4 days full amount refund, that unit has no value for me. Maybe I get used to it, living in CA bay area, during the night, the AC not even runs by cool weather.
Guest will stay at your property, they will destroy your property, and when you open a case with Abnb to look into the incident, they close the case without validating the evidence, and they will refuse to pay for the damage, as they will always find something in their policy to reject your case. They favor their profit more than property owners expenses. Now you are left on your own to fix your house.
The owners Seth Fisher and Heidi Brown and Rochelle Fisher are complete scammers and cheats. They will not return your security deposit no matter how good the condition is. The address is 16 41st Ave, Isle of Palms, SC *******.
So disappointed in #airbnb... Will never use again
We followed the government regulations. No travel.
We try to keep our kids' safe and health in this mean time.
End up, they have neither vacation nor Xmas gift.
Because of these ridiculous "Service fee" ( which we didn't get any)and cancellation fee
Airbnb rips off customers, has rude incompetent customer service staff, rips off & panders on refunds by greedy hosts for cancellations weeks ahead among others. Avoid this corporation. I wish I saw all these reviews. It's not worth the loss of money and peace
Did you know that your host can just cancel your rental at any time with and face absolutely no repercussions? It's true. I booked a rental in April 2021 for May 2022. I paid it up front 100% months before it was due. I received a message today saying "Too bad, the owner of the property wants to stay there that week so find somewhere else to stay." Seriously. Less than three weeks before my trip they cancelled my reservation. They didn't offer up another one either. Just cancelled. To add insult to injury, when I called Airbnb, they said it would be 15 days to get my refund. They're holding my money 15 days. Money I paid months ago. I will never ever use Airbnb. Beware that the same thing can happen to you.
Airbnb are middlemen of the worst type. They allow "hosts" to provide consistently sub-par and sometimes downright disgusting accommodation for prices which are in many cases higher than 4-star hotels. I have had accommodations with bugs, with rotten food in the fridge, and with extremely poor levels of cleanliness, yet you are effectively stuck with what you get as they don't generally offer any sort of refund if you show up to a garbage heap marketed as a bnb. But let's be honest, the idea that you can leave individuals who were brought up with vastly different standards of cleanliness to maintain any minimum level of cleanliness is just a dumb proposition - Airbnb have proved that, and the many negative reviews here corroborate the company's failure. That regulation hasn't stepped in is what's perhaps the most surprising to me, given how regulated the competition (hotels) is.
Airbnb is Notorious for not looking after its hosts. Their customer service is absolutely disgusting and they constantly passed the back from one incompetent agent to another. Highly unprofessional and that's why I am going to change to cottages dot com next year
Hosts lie. Guests lie. Airbnb invariably takes the side of the person with the least capacity for reason and logic because clearly their staff is incapable of both. Furthermore, they are either lacking proper medication or are on too much. It's clearly not my job to decipher which; only to stay away from these nut jobs.
Airbnb will cancel you last minute.
I confirmed and paid for an extra-large place near Disneyland 6 weeks in advanced. With less than 48 hours of the trip, the host cancels on me so they could resell it for a higher rate. Been a week and no refund.
Airbnb operator says they can't do anything for me and then LIED that they will have a supervisor call me within 24-28 hours.
Airbnb doesn't even allow me to leave a negative review for the host since the reservation was cancelled.
I wonder how many others they have done this to.
What confidence can anyone have when planning a family vacation if Airbnb and it's hosts can pull things like this.
You have been warned. First and last time I will ever use Airbnb.
I booked an Airbnb for a single night stay in Annapolis. Despite the premium price ($600 for one night), the unit was located on Clay St, and was in a quite unsafe neighborhood.
The unit smelled strongly of cleaning chemicals. Despite this, some of the walls were smudged with stains. All of the beds had inadequate bedding…fitted sheet only, with a thin blanket and decorative pillows. No top sheets, comforters, or standard pillow cases. We informed the host we were leaving, and no assistance was offered. We were refunded cleaning fees, but the remaining $480 or so was not refunded. The host was inappropriately argumentative, and Airbnb claimed they could do nothing more to help me.
I find this disgraceful. At least hotels publish their addresses before you book. Please beware…Airbnb does not hold hosts accountable to their standards.
Airbnb does not vet their properties / owners. We cancelled a reservation after discovering that the last 8/10 of a mile drive to the listing was less than safe. We felt we could not stay there without risking our lives going back and forth to our commitments. There was absolutely nothing in the listing to indicate that the "gated comunity with 24 hour security for parking" was also a community with a very narrow one line road with steep hill, blind turns and no lighting or turn-arounds. We almost flipped our car due to a very tight turn. Thankfully we were traveling at a rate of less that 10 mph. Air bnb did nothing for us except quote the cancellation policy and advise that the owner refused to refund.
Apparantly we are not the only ones with this experience. BBB website had many similar complaints - more than I could count - and I only went back to 3/14/2024.
Place is not as described. Complete lie. Definitely not safe and secure as listed. Located in a slum with razor wire on both sides. Bio hazard mattresses and black mold. Airbnb did nothing to help, lost money since we had to leave early due to the conditions.
Answer: AirBnB is the worst. You might be able to go to the resolution centre, but previous posts are correct. Watch your money with them. Once they make an error it's hard to get it back. You may have to go through the credit card you charged it to and even then the dispute process might take awhile. Hopefully, you have other money to use in the mean time or the date of your trip is at least weeks out? They are asking you to "verify your ID" so they can gain access to your linked in, Facebook and google contacts. They say it's a security measure to protect you and everyone else but it's not. They are pirating your info. They take your contacts and use it as a marketing tool for themselves or sell the contacts to other distributors. It's very common with sites like this now. If you want to continue using AirBnB you have no choice unfortunately.
Answer: Being a host, I can say that when things are going good, all is great, but if something goes wrong, as a host, you will not get the support from Airbnb that is promised. They do not stand behind their hosts, I find they like to a facade that all is great in the land of Airbnb. I have cancelled my listing and will not deal with them anymore in the future.
Answer: As a host & licensed realtor with multiple properties in both Los Angeles & Las Vegas which I book directly and also have listed with multiple vacation rental agencies, SAVE YOURSELF TIME, MONEY & AGGRAVATION by booking either DIRECTLY with the host or through other REPUTABLE Agencies, such as Roomorama.
Answer: I haven't been a host, but would certainly recommend that you read ALL the reviews here before getting involved with Airbnb. I can't think of ANY business of ANY type I would patronize that got a 1.5 star rating after 382 reviews.
Answer: They offered $25 discount of next booking I just chose to go else where
Answer: You don't. The only thing that you can be sure of is that if you have a problem Airbnb will be unreachable. They hide from dissatisfied customers and hosts alike. You are taking big chances when you deal with them. The benefits just aren't worth the risks.
Answer: No, you would be lucky and have to fight to get a refund if you cancel 1 day after you make the reservation!
Answer: Hello, First, the credit card co. Needs to be notified and will refund the amount spent. In turn, the cc co. Will backcharge. Airbnb is notorious for these types transactions and should be shutdown. Your son has learned a business lesson... research a business prior to do business!
Answer: This is the root of my problem with AIRBNB. They do not check to see if a host can legitimately rent the place they are advertising. In my experience, the host cancelled 48 hours before, claimed she was going to be evicted if she rented to me. I was only 3000 miles from home. AIRBNB offered me a 10% discount to rebook another place. I did not and will not use them again.
Answer: Susan's answer is very thorough and I agree with her. Even more important when booking places outside your country of origin to ensure you don't get a flea pit. Also, always look at the reviews, they are very important. If there is a really bad review, don't stay there. You need to check the locations online as well. You don't want to be in a bad, dangerous area... this just happened to someone staying in Philadelphia. If you have a problem, the AirBnB website is useless. Google the AirBnB customer service number from your location. Renee
