August 25th, 2013

I booked an apartment in Copenhagen, Denmark from 20 to 24 June 2013 through a website called: http://www.all-copenhagen-apartments.com/. The criteria I used for the booking were: (i) the reviews I read on this website, where guests had given the apartment a five star rating; and (ii) the fact that the apartment was always fully booked, from which I inferred that it was likely to be of a high quality.

The condition of the apartment fell well below the standard we were expecting based on the reviews. The apartment was dusty throughout and pillows and duvets were stained. It was noisy outside day and night so I could not sleep and there were a lot of personal items in the apartment that I believe belonged to the owner. This was the worst apartment I have stayed in over the last 20 years of travelling in Europe. We left after one night of a four night booking, although we had paid for the whole period in advance and did not receive any refund from the owner. However, after I made a complaint I received a refund of the deposit from http://www.all-copenhagen-apartments.com/ that amounted to about 17% of the cost.

I have repeatedly asked http://www.all-copenhagen-apartments.com/ to post my review of this apartment on their website. However, as at 25 August 2013 they have not posted my review of the apartment on their website. However, in the meantime two additional three star reviews were posted on the website that reduced the average rating from five stars to four stars.

I am posting this comment in order to make prospective guests aware that http://www.all-copenhagen-apartments.com/ may not post in a timely way negative reviews of properties listed on their website. Prospective guests may want to bear this in mind when assessing whether or not to book apartments via this website because, based on my experience, guests may not be receiving a full set of information from previous guests about their experiences of the apartments. Therefore, properties may not be in as good a condition as prospective guests may think on the basis solely of reviews posted on this website. I sent these comments to http://www.all-copenhagen-apartments.com/ in advance of posting them in order to give them as full an opportunity as possible to post my original review on their website before posting these comments.

Please also that I contacted by phone the Complaints Board for Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism in Denmark with respect to getting a full refund (please see http :// www.horesta. Dk/sitecore/content/Ankenaevnet/~/media/Filer/Campaign/Anke/PDFarkiv/Folder%20engelsk%*******%20pdf. Ashx). They told me that because I had booked the apartment via a private sector company, it would be difficult to obtain a refund even if the condition of the apartment was well below the average standard.
