I signed up with Rick Roma. He was very detailed in educating me about the plan and all of the terms which I very much appreciate. Only 2 months in I had to make my first claim which was handled very smoothly for an issue with my heating system. It was frigid temperatures and I was so happy they got the tech out the same day and were able to fix the issue right away... A few days later my washing machine went out. I called in the claim on a Tuesday but because of my own scheduling conflicts and unavailability I couldn't be at my home to meet the technician until Friday. The tech said he would have to order some parts. While he was at my house, he called Amazon Home Warranty to explain to them what was wrong with the machine. After listening to what the issue was, AHW decided that it would take too much time to locate the parts, the parts were expensive and the machine was already aged so it would just make more sense to get a whole new machine! By Tuesday afternoon the new machine was already installed! I could not possible be any more satisfied with my decision to go with Amazon Home Warranty. To recap, sign up process was easy, smooth, and the salesperson took the time to really explain the policy to me. 1st claim: heating issue - got same day service and was fixed on the spot. 2nd claim: Washing machine, was replaced within a week! Excellent service. I would rate this company 7 stars if I could.
100% SCAM! Fake reviews all over web. Accreditation already revoked by BBB. Do not use under any circumstance. They auto deny almost all claims.
They sent out a contractor to fix our AC issue, R-Max Mechanical, and he lied to us about the claim process. We were unable to be reimbursed for our claim. Their customer service is awful. Most of the time no one answers the phone. Would not let me speak to a supervisor, won't do anything about the unscrupulous contractors they have and their billing department won't pick up so I can make sure they don't auto renew me. Nightmare all around. Do not use them.
Denied claim covering new motor on a clothes drier using the excuse that I can't prove that I have been professionally cleaning the unit regularly.I was responsible to find and pay ( without being refunded) a technician to diagnose the problem and file a complicated claim with technical details and pictures just to deny claim after sending the technician away since they would not authorize the claim on the spot.Strongly advise against aggravating yourself, wasting your money and time on a company that in my opinion has to be served with a class action law suit
On 8/1/2021 I put in a claim for a covered item during my policy period and was told I should expect a $200 check in a few weeks.
-After waiting one month I called again to find out they now need some additional paperwork.
-I quickly send in my paperwork and wait another few weeks. Again... no check.
-I call again and was told the check is in the mail. I wait again a few weeks and still nothing. --On 11/1/2021 my policy is now up for renewal. They call me to say they can apply the $200 toward my renewal.
-I insist that I would like my $200 first before considering renewal. I was assured once again I would receive my money.
-It is now 1/3/2022, 10+ calls later and I find out they reject my claim because I did not renew.
I am now contacting the NJ Department of Insurance. I will also find as many online outlets to place a bad review as this is a horrible unfair company.

AHW has not delivered any value to me. They have taken 4 days to two weeks to respond to any claim I submit only to state that all their technicians are busy and I could go through the reimbursement process, which requires another phone call. The hold times are at least ten minutes each time. For a single claim this time adds up. I call in to let them know that I was not getting value and would not renew. The guy was like okay... have a great day. Yikes. I did a ton of research before purchasing this home warranty in May 2021. I don't know if the name change from Amazon Home Warranty to AHW is new ownership, however, my experience did not match the reviews prior to May 2021. Buyer beware if you go with AHW.

This company is a complete scam to the customer & to the contractor. They hardly approve any repairs called in by the technicians on site. The repairs they do authorize l, they never pay the contractor for.
Basically they sent out Micheal Ewing on Monday he was pd his service fee of 150. He has not returned or answering their calls or mine. AHW stated that my only option is to find someone else and pay them the 200 and they will reimburse me. I explained it's the holidays I'm working my house I do not have 200 after I just paid him 150. They stated this is my only option. I asked why couldn't they send someone else and they said because they would have to start the process over again. W said ok he is not showing up anyway and he said again my only option is to find someone and pay. Thanks for nothing there should be another option when this happens and the person is unable to pay. W have a newborn and its winter temp is going to be in the negative. Great customer service

Don't buy this. I prepaid until Jan 2023. I found out today that they made an "executive decision" to cancel my policy and WONT GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK or tell me why they cancelled it. They are STEALING about $700 from me. I have not filed claims that exceed my 3 years of premiums. HOW DO YOU CANCEL AND NOT OWE THE CUSTOMER FOR THE UNUSED PART OF THE CONTRACT. I filed a claim BEFORE they cancelled it and repairman was scheduled but delayed for quarantine. I've already paid once for this problem so I assume they didn't want to have to replace refrigerator. The claim was filed BEFORE they cancelled it. DONT BUY IT.
AMAZON HOME WARRANTY is very disappointing. DO NOT BUY THIS SERVICE. I have been without AC for 14 days with no concern that I have a young child in the home. They will not send another technician out. Kennard Harris with A1 Services, the tech that initially handled my issue is out of town and will not be back until July 9th. Juliette, supervisor, is NOT concerned. It is 100 degrees in GA and this is the service that the customer receives. Oh, by the way, it took 20 calls before anyone would allow me to even speak to a supervisor if Juliette is even legitimate. A manager attempts to make things right and she mentioned that she needs to speak with her team first before she can send another tech out to fix the problem. WOW! What a manager. I have been waiting since June 24th for my unit to be fixed without any consideration from AHW. I would have never thought in a million years that customer service could be this horrible.

Was told by salesman that coyld make claims on any appliance after initial 30 days. Plus was only month to month and could cancel at any time.
Made claim and was refused. Told by support staff that they expected all equipment to be in excelent condtion day one and they dont expect claims for several months after policy active. Great if one could perdict when an appliance might die, want to buy stock in those predictions. Also spoke with two managers with NO help. Told them I wanted to cancel policy and was told you have to pay administation fee to cancel. NO refunds on policy. Still have not had it canceled after several days. Also when I sent several emails over a week to get assistance was told these were treats to them. They never answer phone, you have to leave message and wait for call back. I have dealt with other home warranties as a A&E Appliance serviceman until I retired and would give AHW a -5 stars if possible.

I highly recommend Amazon Home Warranty. I have had home warranties before and none are this quick - they actually have a sense of urgency to try and get the problem fixed right away and they also don't have the hassles I've grown accustomed to with other home warranty companies. It was such a smooth process from start to finish with my claims. Their terms are also better than other companies - i actually have taken the time to read them.

I was with American Home Shield and this guy Eric called me from Amazon Home Warranty and as a any sales man he gave his sales pitch and I fell into the trap. I was trying to do some cost cutting and fell for it, You Don't! They are a rip off company. They have the worst vendors.
I called for 2 claims one they denied and the customer service lady was so rude on top it.
The second claim was covered for me, but the vendor when I called(technically the vendor should call for appointment once work order is received) I didn't hear back from AHW for 3 days and finally when I called the vendor for appointment he sounded sleepy and didn't care about it. Also claimed he didn't get any work order.
When I called AHW they were like oh we'll look into it and get back to you. 2 days passed and no call back from vendor or AHW.
Finally today I get a call from the vendor and he talks to me as if he's doing a favor by coming over. He wasn't even clear on the work order. I'm afraid he's going to mess things up for me. I'll keep you guys posted on more.

They did nothing for me. A claim means nothing to them. Don't waste your money. Don't even try. You will regret like I did.
My washer broke, i called AHW who assigned someone the next day to fix my washer machine. Very satisfied with their service.
We called AHW after our AC unit stopped working. They sent out a tech who took our $60 service fee in cash and gave a diagnosis of a leaking compressor due to ordinary wear and tear. This incomplete diagnosis involved needing 2 pounds of replacement refrigerant that has now been banned by the EPA. We tried (and AHW tried) to call the technician back to resolve this and received no response or follow up appointment. The technician sent by AHW then blocked our phone number.
We called AHW again, and they advised we get a "second opinion," which we got from 3 other local HVAC companies. Each company's technician diagnosed the issue as normal wear and tear (unit is from the 90's) and recommended replacement due to a leaking compressor (replacement refrigerant banned by EPA) and a leaking condenser coil.
After more calls with us, AHW, and a technician from Bartlett Heating & Cooling Inc. during which the technician stated each time that his diagnosis was normal wear and tear, AHW continued to ask we send pictures of the unit. After sending dozens of pictures from different angles, AWS stated that because there was some dirt on the outdoor AC unit, our claim was denied.
Our AC unit is cleaned yearly and was serviced less than a year ago by a technician. No technician (including the one chosen and sent originally by AHW) has pointed to dirt being involved in any way as a cause of any issues with the unit. AHW has refused to review or escalate the issue and will not cover the replacement.
AWH is scam. There is no other word for it. It seems the goal is they will get you to pre-pay for a few years and will only cover claims up to the amount you've already paid. If your claim goes over that amount, they will make up a reason not to cover your claim. This completely defeats the point of insurance. You are better off just saving the money and using it yourself for repairs.
We are filing complaints with BBB, but most likely we will have to pay $8k to replace our HVAC system due to AHW refusing to live up to their end of the deal. Truly disgusting practices. They are taking money from working class people who did everything by the book when submitting a claim.
