Several years ago, Most of these animal protection / adoption agencies ( ASPCA, ETC.) offered very low cost spay and neutering, and their price to adopt homeless animals was very reasonable. Now, however, their prices are almost as expensive as pet shops and private breeders! These agencies are trying to put pet shops, " back yard breeders", and regular breeders out of business. It seems obvious to me that their goal is to run breeders out of business while they take over the business!

I am a true animal lover and the thought of you people trying to rob people for money with sad story's about animals that you are taking advantage of for money, these animals deserve better, clearly everyone knows you people stole money from the aspca, these funds are for the animals, not your human greed, i would love to donate to these beautiful animals, but I dont trust people like the aspca, you need to be put out of business.

ASPCA are thieves
July 28, 2023

The so called saving of animals by aspca is so bogus. They only spend a few cents for the animals the people running the bogus company make hundreds of thousands a year plus bonuses. I wouldn't give to these people ever there are legitimate companies that acts help animals but aspca isn't one

AWEFUL COMPANY. STAY AWAY
April 26, 2024

It is a shame that I can't rate with zero stars! They cancelled my policy because according to them it will be not available anymore in my State and offered me basically the same one but 3 times more expensive. The representative told me that with the new one, they will cover specialty foods. When I sent my first claim under the new one, they did not pay because it was a "pre existing condition" even when my dog was covered by them with no gap. Avoid this company!

UPDATE and answer to Mr Travis: The first thing I did was call to customer service. I had my insurance for 11 YEARS with ASPCA. Barely made a claim or two. ASPCA called me to tell me that they were going to cancel my policy and offer me one with THE SAME COVERAGE but THREE TIMES THE PRICE, because, of course, my dog is now 11 years old. This practice in itself is very shady! Anyway, I got it to be covered with no gap. So, my dog have been covered by your company for almost 12 years till today. How come they can tell me that my dog has a pre- existing condition at this point? SO, TO EVERYONE THINKING ABOUT THIS INSURANCE, be aware that they can drop your dog when is old and needs the insurance the most, to offer you a policy with the same coverage paying triple, and FORGET about all the years you had your dog with them. In this new policy, everything will be consider a pre- existing condition. If that is not shady, I don't know what that is.

Had a friend that needed help with their animals after a devastating hurricane and they said that they couldn't help that they only take donations. Not help others

This organization is not what it seems. When I donate, I give to my locate Humane Society because I know where their money goes and how they treat the animals.

Rip off
July 23, 2023

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) has something it doesn't want you to know. Raising over $400 million a year from those weepy Sarah McLachlan commercials, the ASPCA spends little of that money on sheltering pets across America. The ceo makes over $800k an year! Instead of supporting animal welfare, the ASPCA is quickly converting to the largest PETA-like animal "liberation" group in the United States. (And the Humane Society of the United States, which runs similar ads, is even worse) don't give money to these rip off cons, give to you local shelter!

ASCPA
May 1, 2023

This has nothing to do with the poor animals I know ASCPA TAKES EXCELLENT CARE OF ALL ANIMALS AND SAVES AS MANY AS THEY CAN FROM ABUSE AND HOMELESS ANIMALS TO GIVE THEM ALL SAFE AND CARING AND LOVING HOMES...It has to do w/ how ASCPA DOSE there donation for people when you change your donation they should change it not take out more then they are supposed to that is what they did to me & the manager said. Miss Berman we will refund your $50.00 dollars. They only refund me $20.00 dollars. The manager lied to me. So, that is it. Sure I give ASCPA a 10 RATING for helping all the ANIMALS... BUT GIVE ASCPA A 0 ON HOW THEY CONDUCT THERE BUSINESS W/ PEOPLE WITH THERE DONATION...

Animals play an important role in the lives of many people. Children learn respect for another being and a rewarded with a friend. Families enrich their lives with these new additions who often provide uncompromising love and affection. But like any living being, there are responsibilities and costs. Part of the responsibility is to recognize that animals don't understand how we higher level beings have certain rules and so have to be dealt with fairly and with understanding. If we're going to undertake ownership of an animal, the ASPCA wants us to be responsible and not be abusive. The same goes for not using animals for horrendous, unethical thrill and profit seeking endeavors (do you hear me, Mike Vick)!

I think the ASPCA ranks as an important institution for assisting animals, particularly pets, in need. Society should think about The Beatles "When I'm 64" song to better understand that aging animals deserve the same respect that our senior citizens should receive when they become more defenseless and in need.
