With lots of patience and time spent on learning how to use this free phone, I must honest tell you our CA state legislators have completely failed us by wasting our tax dollars on buying and distributing this useless phone.
Talked to 6 representatives no help phone died! Tried to get replacement since still under warranty no avail no help. 4 hours on the phone with assurance wireless, troubleshooting doing factory reset. I'm without a phone and help!
Due to whoever reviewed my documentation for qualifying, they did not review all of my documentation and denied me based on only reviewing the first page. I called to clear up the mistake and was told I qualified and would receive a phone in 10 days, however the phone was never sent. I called to follow up and was told I did not qualify again based on only reviewing the first page of the documentation I submitted.
I have had a cell phone for 20+ years! Customer Service is the worse I have ever experienced. They Lie Lie Lie to you regarding any issue you call to resolve.
They have no power to help with any issues, they say over and over again that your issue will be resolved, and it never gets resolved.
If you have any choice, avoid this company totally.
I can be on a business call and the phone just stops working. Then it says no mobile network available. Also when I call assurance I'm told I don't have enough data. I'm on the unlimited talk, text, and data. I was told I would be receiving another phone, but I was told they don't have the phone in stock. This company is terrible.
I called about a replacement and the problem was taken care of right away and was super friendly. The rep's name was Abby E. And her supervisor Kim C. Were super helpful and super friendly. I am very satisfied at their friendliness and kindness. Thanks Assurance Wireless!
They don't honor their warranty and they charge you fee for fixing or replacing your phone. I paid $49.00 monthly and when I need their service then they ask to charge additional fees. Don't recommend them
Not usable due to the torrent of spam & phishing calls & messages from "Verified" #'s.
NO option to report to Assurance. They do NOT care that these calls are targeting seniors. Maybe that's the "real" business model? I don't know, but, I do know that's the only thing it has been for me
I have had like 5 or 6 assurance wireless phones and all have completely stopped working within a matter of a few months, 6 months max. I truly believe they are made to get people to put in vital personal information and then crap out. They always run extremely slow and glitchy while they do still "work". In the past there was an issue of malware being installed. I think it's still happening, since they are always so slow.
Spoke to customer service for replacement phone, wverything fine. A week later no phone has arrived. Now I have to pay $39.00 for a new phone because warranty has passed. It wasn't the case last week. I was told to call back to get the tracking # then I found out about the money. The phone and my service is free because of disability, yet I would rather pay for service now. F THEM.
They flood your phone with pop up adds that prevent you from answering your phone or respond to your text messages and when you call,,, their customer service agents tell you that they need a visa or master her words to get it to stop. What a crock of $#*!!, complete cons attempting to take advantage of people who obviously cannot afford regular cellular plans hints the Lifeline service.
If you currently have this company and are reading reviews due to the issues you are having please file a formal complaint with your states Lifeline regulators to put a end to this Hussle! They get paid by the government to provide this service they should not be putting up obstacles to try to get you to pay for them to be blocked!
I have replaced my phone 3 times. Once because it was in my purse when my purse was stolen, the other two times was because the phone had a mind of its own. It would dial random numbers even when no one was near the phone. It would put people on hold and dial someone else, or it would just mute them and you could not get them un-muted. I would receive a text message days after it was sent. My phone would not ring when others called and would not even show a missed call. I even tried calling it from another phone and watched my phone while it didn't ring and eventually went to voicemail. This phone, and service is terrible. It even left me and my son stranded for hours because we could not call for help even though we had full bars. Stay away from this company, there are far too many other companies offering government phones for you to risk your health and safety on an unreliable phone with very poor service
This is a total scam service and should be shutdown! They send you a phone that is recycled, almost broken and with a phone number that is assigned to someone else! The customer service is ignorant, rude and from a foreign entity! They won't replace your phone if it breaks and they want you to purchase a new one. This is not a free service and they send you harassment letters in the mail for no reason to tell you that no longer qualify for the phone service! You can not reach them by E-mail either. Don't waste your time on this service, because they will turn your phone off and you will either have to reapply, or buy the phone to keep your same number. They do not transfer your number to a new phone. Worst scam ever! Stay away from the foreign bots that want your money!
The phones are cheap. Their service is lousy. I have begged to use a good phone that a friend bought me... never used... and they won't. I have tried to go to another provider and they make it impossible.
They are terrible.
Calls start dropping off after 30 minutes or so whether I use wifi or not. The Moxie phone doesn't have a Sim card slot so I can't try a different phone to see if the service is better on a better phone.
The manufacturer is in Indianapolis. Ordered a replacement phone on 26th of November. THEY offered it free of charge then told me it would take 21 days for the phone to come.It never came. Called and they claim its a delay. Dont comprehend very well, I had to explain to csr 30 times I was calling from someone else's phone to see what was Goin on. They want you to pay but fail to express an upfront fee to get things movin. They use the torture tactic and bait and switch to see if you crumble and pay instead. Not me I waited that longtime for a phone to get here that was never sent in the first damn place so I'm not paying to rush anything just to e disappointed again... I dont think so.
Purchased an I phone 7 directly from assurance, they charged me $275. Shortly after received an e mail from them saying they would no longer be supporting my phone but would be replacing it with a cheap android phone. Assurance ripped me off for $275. They won't refund my money or replace it with a comparable phone. They just sold me a piece of crap they knew they wouldn't support for above market price. I am filing a complaint with the state Attorney Generals office.
The minutes seem to run by very quickly every month and forces you to top up and then the system is not working and you can't use the debit or credit card. Customer service is telling me I have to go out and find a Top up card. Customer service was very rude when I was trying to explain that I need to buy minutes and their system is broken. He talked over me and then hung up on me. I will be ending this service shortly.
I feel sorry for the assurance wireless, it's no regular company. It sent out a free phone, but it doesn't have a cancel service, i called 5 times for cancle, Why does it push me to use its phone? I think that assurance wireless is a scam company.
Built-In Spam prevents incoming and outgoing emergency calls. If you get a call, you can't get the spam, that's built into the phone, to go away fast enough to accept the call. And equally bad, if you try to make an emergency call, you're flooded with spam and cannot make an outgoing call fast enough. In addition, they give you cheap phones that don't always work right, example speaker phone faulty, volume faulty. And they'll send you replacement phones that are equally as bad and not tested, fully.
