After spending an hour on the phone to do an application, i was given the application # and told to call another number so they could order the phone. When i called that number, i was told they dont order phones, to call assurance wireless back. So i did and there was no record of my application, even though i had the application number. So this is now a few hours into the process and i want screen "$#*! you" there is a reason you have a 1 star rating.
Be very carefully this company will cheat you out of free GB to get you to spend money for extra data they never turn over data for next month on time. This company will cheat you they just want you to give money for data you should get free. Watch your data they will lie and cheat even if you have proof.

I just got this phone, and already it's giving me trouble. It's obviously out of date and old. When I'm on the phone, I can't hear the other person. Just to hear what they are saying, I have to turn the speaker on. When I touch the touch screen, it reacts very slowly. Not to mention that it opens apps that I never even clicked on, sometimes it doesn't work at all and I have to wait for the phone to unfreeze or turn it off entirely. I've decided to switch phone providers.
I had to have 2 cell phones replaced within 2 months for each. I dont know how I actually had a number to call that actually contact Assurance Wireless CSR cause the one that appears on the web page and the letter they said you is not it and was on the phone for a hour and a half! And when the cell worked half of the time I could not hear the person on the other line I was trying to talk too! I will be sending them the cell that does not work back to them and the new replacement cell!
If I could give less than 1 star, I would. I arranged a free Lifeline for a low income senior. I completed the National Lifeline Verifier online and provided all that information to Assurance. They told me a phone was on the way. I called back every few weeks for 7 months, and every time I was told that the phone was on the way. I was then told there was a shortage of phones with COVID, but it would be coming. Today they finally told me that his application was denied and was denied immediately 7 months ago. They cannot explain why the last 20+ people I spoke with told me he was good to go. I would never ever use this company again.
After dealing with Assurance Wireless. I truly believe you get what you pay for. The customer service is horrible, the quality of the phones are horrible. I guess you get what you pay for. If you don't have any expectations you won't be disappointed. Their customer service repeatedly says they're sorry, problem never gets resolved.
I have the UMX phone via Assurance. It's a piece of carp. Touch screen sensitivity is ridiculous; you have to swipe repeatedly or restart to get off opening screen. Issues with outgoing and incoming calls; for outgoing, calls simply don't go through and for incoming calls callers tell me my calls go straight to voicemail. As for texting, texts don't go through 90% of time, you get the message that internet not available or cellular service unavailable; incoming text fail to come through. Volume set at highest level, yet you can't hear it ring. I've had it six months and have only been able to complete six outgoing calls. Just a hot piece if mess; I tell people to stay away from this phone and the phone service!
When you call assurance wireless to purchase minutes they suggest l you to purchase online. When you purchase 250 minutes online and you don't call them afterwards and tell them you purchased 250 for $6.88 you ONLY get 50 minutes. (They charge you 10¢ a minute instead of giving you your 250 minutes if you don't call.them) When you call them and complained they tell you to purchase another 250 minutes for $6:88 which you will get ONLY if you call them otherwise you only get 50 minutes. Why should I pay for something I already paid for. They cheated me out of 200 minutes. How much money are they pocketing by this underhanded practice. If you purchase 250 minutes online make sure you call them or they will cheat you out of 200 minutes. I would post a picture of purchase but it is on my bank statement which I will not post for obvious reasons.
I bought a phone from assurance wireless and the phone was defective, they sent another phone which was also defective and they refuse to give me a refund even after I gave them the tracking number from FedEx with both of the phones. They are a rip off company.
I get it free but at least I expected a decent phone. 20 replacement phones later. I don't have a normal phone like a Samsung. Sucks I can't afford a decent plan or nice phone. Use to having a phone that doesn't work fast, no space, slow data. It's hell. I can't have a nice phone now. Can't afford it.

They gave me a defective phone and would not replace it. They moved my ACP credit from my internet service to their premium unlimited plan. I did NOT request this! I ask them to give me proof of written or voice signature of such request. They could not (because it never happened). When I asked them to transfer it back they told me they would take care of it. I checked with internet company. It was not transferred. I called back and requested a supervisor. I was told they were transferring me but they disconnected me. I called back, same again 5 times! Then when I called back, it said number restricted. Please call customer service... That WAS customer service!
Other than customer service, its a good deal, all else is well with it. But, customer service is worthless. First one I spoke with just said nothing but then put me to the survey. I doubt they expected me to leave a message on that. Second one kept telling me: Go to the web site, go to the web site, go to the web site. Would not listen to my issue at all, did not care what my problem was, every time I tried to speak, it was "go to the web site" Worthless.
Assurance Wireless are horrible with there customer service! They quoted me 2 different prices. First was $5. Was about to process and called dropped. Called back and said it would be $25! Due to there government policies and guidelines. Bullcrap! My first phone they sent me was faulty. Not my fault, internal tech issues they said. So they sent me another phone and charged me $5 shipping fee. They are out to get people. In there eyes, I guess the customer isn't always right! Worse service ihave ever had.
Hi. I lost my phone last Wednesday. I searched my home from top to bottom. I was never able to find my phone. I explained the situation to the representative. From the voice prompt it started that. A customer is eligible for s free replacement phone. Once every 12 months which is a lie. When I mentioned this to the representative. I was informed that I. Had to pay $25 for a replacement phone. That's false advertisement why promote. Telling people that they quality for. 1 free replacement phone every 12 months. If there's actually a fee? That's very bad for business.
Their service seems good. However, their free phone is an useless one.

It keep crashing and cannot make any calls. If you call in for help they will just make you reset the phone and the crashing will happen again.
The one star is for the cheap price. My phone was stolen and two weeks ago, I called and was told that I'm eligible for a once-a-year free replacement phone and it was being shipped. Also told I would "be reveiving an email pertaining to my order shortly". I checked my order status about 10 days later, and no orders. I call and was told the order didn't get approved because I wasn't with them for a year yet. So I pay for a new phone, and they charge my account. Two days later, still no email. Also no order history in my account online. I call again and the only thing I can get out of these people who are mainly just reading off of a script is "no worries, all you have to do now is wait". Well it may be "no worries" for them, especially after they took my money, but I use my phone for work so it's kind of a worry for me. Never again...
They sent me a piece of paper stating that I will receive a Samsung galaxy S10 comes loaded with great features. What a bunch of bull. They sent me a Motorola. When I talk to the lady on the phone she says oh I'm sorry you were one of the selections that got it second hand you weren't one of the first callers. Bull liars liars liars! Complete frauds
I called assurance wireless today I simply asked for my money back. But they said no I am going to sue assurance wireless I hope they get their doors closed they are stealing money off of my account that I closed 3 months ago they sent me a phone that only worked for a week and then they had enough guts to ask me to pay $25 for shipping. On a new replacement cell phone. The government needs to shut the doors on assurance wireless. Why are assurance wireless still in business. They needed to close their doors as soon as they opened their doors back in 2000. They promised me a Samsung. They promised me a Motorola g. And they promised me a iPhone which they lied I didn't see any of that coming to my house. I have left assurance wireless. And got with a good company a much better company.
