This is the worst wireless company out there. I think they may be a scam company. I was given a free phone because of my economic status. They gave me a phone that would not charge. I called the Customer Service Department and they said they would send me another one. I never received it. Anytime I called Customer Service, there was always a bunch of loud noise in the background. They do not deal with your complaints. I called to cancel my service with them, and got transferred to a total different company. Stay away from them!

They lied to me twice. I am still waiting for a replacement phone all the while lifeline is paying for a phone service I can't use. I am a disabled senior that is homebound. They are putting me in danger.
Don't even bother with signing up with this company they are low down and dirty they will send you the fact the phone they will lie to you and they don't give a damn about you. As far as the review I give them two middle fingers if I had more i would give 18. Stay away from this company they are out to do damage. Pay very much attention to the other reviews and if possible find ways to file a class action lawsuit against them for shutting off phone services that should have never been shut off as well as sending out defective phones to customers who suffer from illnesses and are low income.
Good luck getting a new one for two and a half months you're better off turning your bottom up and getting ducked. If you know how the systems work and request a supervisor you'll get hung up on
Due to the amount of stress that this phone will add to your life makes it a very legitimate reason to not consider. But I understand cuz I have no choice and when you have no choice you get what you get. But just because it's free doesn't make it good. It's actually horrible service makes your life very grumpy. An example being trying to talk to somebody on the phone that's an important conversation and the calls are dropped constantly. The phone itself is horribly slow the batteries are very low quality and they go dead sometimes within an hour after a full charge, and this is when the phone is brand new. This UMX phone is the same phone that was given to me years ago it's no different. Every year I upgrade and I get the same phone. If I can afford to use another service I sometimes can do that. Periodically throughout the year but as of now and has been for the past six months I'm in the position I can't afford to do that and I'm stuck with this piece of s*** I highly doubt that this company will ever be reasonably good, they just have no reason to care. They're giving a very low quality product because having no money makes a person less powerful. And everyone who receives these phones pretty much has very little to no money. So our voice of this horrible business is never going to be heard because in order to be heard you have to have money and they know that and they're in the perfect position to take advantage of the less fortunate because the government keeps giving them money. Nobody with power is going to care enough that something free not being good enough. Even though it's extremely important to have it be good enough because it involves those that are in an unfortunate tough situation and having a good phone in today's day and age is vital. So giving out phones that can't even rate one and a half Stars at best is almost an evil gift more than a useful gift.
The CS team is not reliable and will cover themselves with lie upon lie! They do not provide the service they promise only excuses. I do NOT recommend anything about them. Cheap phones that are easily hacked on a constant basis. CS that changes their story everytime you talk to them! Been waiting on phone for over 60 working days.
HORRIBLE COMPANY! Purchased a phone and was told it would arrive in 7-10 days... 3 months later the phone hasn't even been ordered yet!
I have had this wack#@% Cool pad Haylo ( I'm sure they made that shyt up) since Oct. 2021, and have yet to finish a call without it dropping over and over again, I have yet to receive the total unlimited talk, text, data and 10 GB mobile hotspot.
I've talked to... too many to count non English speaking "customer service reps" that don't know shyt about anything, and pretend to be "working" on you wack service, lying about poles in your area all kind of Bs, all while you can hear kids, dogs, and other non professional activities going on.
Today Feb. 24/22 for the umpteenth time I've been told " no worries " trust I will fix your problem today just after we hang up turn phone off for actual HOURS and its sure to work. Bull -Chyt nothing works.

This phone and service is and was not free, especially if you count your aggravation, and wasted hours spent with reps that you barely can understand what they are saying, and they don't understand nothing you say period. I'm so DONE you can stick a fork in me.
This co. Sucks. They have idiots in some other country that can't help you and won't give you a U.S. number to call. My phone cuts out as people are speaking to me. I have to shake the phone to get to hear them again. I BOUGHT 3 phones thinks Ng it was the phone. The last phone took 4 mo's. To get because they sent it to the wrong address. Now this one does the same thing. I've searched for a phone no. Here in the U.S. but they don't want you to get hold of them because their service is so bad.
As I am grateful for government help I believe there are some companies that don't take that responsibility seriously and that is very sad I would not recommend assurance wireless I signed up on the 5th of January it is now the 23rd of February and I still don't have a tracking number for my phone so it is my belief that right now if you sign up with them you're going to wait three or four months before you get a phone to me that is unacceptable and ridiculous that's my comment
I am a senior citizen, who signed up with Metro T-Mobil's Assurance Wireless Service (AWS) at one of their sidewalk booths, in December 2021, for a free phone with unlimited talk, text and enternet data. Everthing workout find until the end of January 2022, when suddenly AWS dropped my free ebb/acp (always on) government provided unlimited data service and began to send text messages steering me to a discount plan web page that ask non-plan Lifeline clients to sign up for an account they don't need and to also pay to tap up for more data that should be free of charge. The first time it happened I called customer service, who told me, it wasn't set up properly back in December '21, and so he corrected it. However, five short days later, I began to get those scam text messages again trying to steer me to sign up for a discount plan, which would bounce me off my totally free, always on cellphone service. When I would not respond my ebb/acp unlimited data was cut off again. Therefore, I felt I had no choice but to file a complaint with FCC.gov and my state senator's office, here on this forum and soon my local Congressman's office.

When I got it the phone was on for one hour. "Mind you" I haven't even download apps that will cause this issue. I was only using calls and texts the phone immediately shut down it I couldn't turn it on I even plug it up with the charger and it wouldn't hold a charge. I tried holding down the power button it still wouldn't turned on. I regret even signing up with them next time I might head over to stand up wireless or truconnect. At least their phone does basic needs.
This phone service is only good for if your getting it free from government assistance because you have no other option. You can't make a call longer than approx 4 to 5 min. Because it drops the call. When your typing in the browser it always freezes up. This is the worst service I've ever experienced.
Hi. I lost my phone last Wednesday. I searched my home from top to bottom. I was never able to find my phone. I explained the situation to the representative. From the voice prompt it started that. A customer is eligible for s free replacement phone. Once every 12 months which is a lie. When I mentioned this to the representative. I was informed that I. Had to pay $25 for a replacement phone. That's false advertisement why promote. Telling people that they quality for. 1 free replacement phone every 12 months. If there's actually a fee? That's very bad for business.
After getting this "lifeline" service I did not know that it came with the worst service and highly slammed text and calls promoting the upgraded services. The entire network "piggybacks" on others cell towers. This results in a priority call basis to the cell tower owners (AT&T) that basically drops any incoming calls and even delays outgoing calls. I would recommend any other cellular service if you're in a life-threatening situation. NOT this one.
Claims this is TMobile service actuality is they are the parent company and Metro PCS is the actual service which lacks service in our area. Reality is this device rarely works when home even on wifi. The phone does not allow wifi calling feature much less provide quality service. Would be better purchasing a plan from a service provider than this garbage. Pretty ridiculous for the folks that need it but, hey good ole government assistance.
Normally I dont yell, scream at or curse out people that work in customer service but ASSurance brings out the worst in me. They are so incompetent and stupid and they are misleading and give me the constant run around. Its always some bulls*!@ with them. They deserve to be yelled and screamed at and also cursed out!
