The service is HORRIBLE, the phone is HORRIBLE.
But what do you expect from a Government Service?
And you have to realize that most ALL tech support in in India. So good luck with communication...
At least as a phone it works better than the last non-free non-government service I had, but as an Android device it leaves much to be desired. Many apps need replacing & some apps do not run right on the UMX U683CL. But I assume things will work better if I were to buy another phone & switch it to Assurance/Virgin Mobile/Sprint.
They make themselves look really good online. I requested and was approved for service June 27th of this year. Told I would get a phone in 10 days. 2 weeks went by I started making phone calls to the company. They promised it would be escalated to the back office and somebody would contact me. No one ever did finally I found out I could file an online complaint about them with the FCC which I did. The FCC served them with notice of the complaint around July 26th. Finally August 9th I received a letter telling me I was getting my phone in 10 days. I got my phone today with a cancer warning label on the box who does that. I'm off the wall brand I've never even heard of apparently made for boost Mobile cost about $30, and I started to charge it 5 minutes in the plug got extremely hot. I repackaged everything called them cancel the service that I actually never got in June never even gave me a phone number, and told them I would be mailing this garbage back to them. After seven phone calls promises for a return phone call I never received any acknowledgment from this company whatsoever again until the FCC got involved. They still never contacted me directly they just sent me a letter almost 2 months later telling me yay your phone's on the way. My opinion the customer service and this company are garbage I will be going elsewhere
These people, although helpful to a point, as far as support goes, there comes a point wher they make an independent judgment call. They told me they were sending me a replacement phone, after 3 weeks of me trying to figure out where it was, I came to find out they never even took the report and had to start again making it over a month without. This has now happened twice, they evidently think we are manipulating our own system and are just trying to hustle for free equipment. Funny cause the phones they provide for free are worthless and break through no fault by mistreatment by us, or me, who do they think they are they don't have anything to do with our free phone program, they are simply using it to establish their business, and they have. Lacking professional behavior and showing no respect to keeping their personnel judgments out of the mix. The phones they provide really are garbage and really do break all the time. I nave serious medical issues and each time they play these games I fall out of contact with the doctores that I rely on to keep me alive. While they just think we are feeling entitled and believe its their job to regulate by making us believe it's in the mail. 3rd grader behavior and thats twice they lied to me and I'm done. I been with them a long time and watched them build that company on the backs of our laws. Zero integrity. Thats what you get when you use cheap overseas people to do customer service. Bye, see ya.
My husband is handicapped and they promised him he was recieveing a free phone no worries there words were good news you will be recieveing your free assurance wireless divice today two and a half mo later the never sent it thing is the whole time the were getting money from the lifeline benefit or ACP benefit do not go with this company and I also noticed I was getting strange phone calls I don't know if it possible being I'm a customer myself of I didnt know any better I would say the mess with you divice my internet would go off and on I would try to call someone my phone would hang up does anybody know why this place hasn't been investigated I know the are steal from lifeline and ACP they need reported no one even speaks English but no worries ugh that still rings in my ears all I can say go with this crappy company and the is nothing but worries I suggest going with a company based on the United States I mean these people have our information but no worries
This company is a sprint carrier I have an unlocked sprint phone i bought from Walmart I signed up for the (byop) bring your own phone the website verified my phone was compatible I received a slow phone with crap service and I cant switch the sim card to my phone really displeased with this company this is also not the first time I have had problems with this company and I know 2 more others on hand that encounter problems with them as well
The basic free UMX is the worst smart phone that I've ever had in my life. It's complete garbage. It's always crashing no matter what I try to do. I had someone send me a text but I didnt receive it until a half hour later! Whenever I try to go to my messages it will take the phone a good 2 minutes to respond. I'm constantly getting the, "The system UI is not responding" text box every 5 minutes of my life! It's so slow that it's even incapable of doing the basic things that a phone is suppose to do. I don't mind the crappy camera or phone games. I just wanted a basic phone where I can call and text. But you can't even do that with this. A flip phone would have been far better than their crappy UMX any day. Free phon service isn't even worth it when said phone given to you doesn't even work like it's intended to. The customer service line is also full of non native English speakers and, I always find it hard to understand them because they talk way too fast. I might as well just buy my own phone and service.
Customer for 4 years. In the past 4 months I've been approved 2x for ACP. THEY closed my account both times with in 24 hours saying I "No longer qualify for either program bcz I haven't used my phone in 30 days! COMPLETE LIE. I'M WHITE & SOUTHERN, I GUESS IF I IMMIGRATED THRU SOUTHERN BORDER ILLEGALLY, THERE WOULDN'T BE A PROBLEM W/RECEIVING EITHER GOVT PROGRAM.
I am the recipient of assurance wireless Free phone service... Sent me a phone that has No working WiFi. No One knows who powers it. Metro Tmobile say its not there service. Assurance say its powered by Metro Tmobile. Used all the data in 15 minutes downloading apps cause the wifi wont work. I HATE U BOTH ASSURANCE WIRELESS & METRO TMOBILE! U Both SUCK for poor customer service & for transferring back & forth for 1hr 53 minutes. Still No Resolve!
In this case, even tho I receive this for no charge because I am low-income senior, if I had to pay $1 per month, I wouldn't., their Customer Service, if you can call it that, is in the Phillipines,. Either they cant understand what you are saying or vice-versa. HORRIBLE. When I ordered an Android phone so I could access the internet, they sent it WITHOUT A USER'S MANUAl. The 1st 7 days I couldn't even answer a phone call
I have been a customer for about three years. The service just keeps getting worse because now the phone is basically unusable. People call me and my phone does not ring. Then, I see I have a voicemail and I can't dial out I have to dial many times to even get through to voicemail. It just keeps looking like it's ringing until it says call ended. When the phone rings in so many spam ads for gaming Etc pop up on my screen I can't get to the part of the screen to answer and I lose the call. Then I try to call them back and it takes average six times before the call will ring through. I can't stand it anymore and I'm worried that there may be an emergency and I won't be able to use this phone. Customer service people are hard to understand and most the time don't seem to understand the problem I'm trying to explain to them. I have had a reset on this phone numerous times and it works for about half a day. I'm going to spend the rest of the day Googling alternative phone companies I see all the other reviews are having my same problem so steer clear

Answer: No they only have 1 phone, a UMX. They don't work you can't even call Costomer Service with it.
