Paid 46 months of $14.99 monthly premium ($689.54). My phone was stolen. I filed the claim 14 days ago. I paid the $269 deductible. Now I am told "it is out of stock but will ship when received". I have contacted them twice inquiring about my phone. No time frame given by anyone how long it will be. Completely unacceptable. I have paid $958.54 total in insurance premiums and been treated poorly by Assurant's customer service. I have also contacted Apple to be told the same. "They will ship it when they receive it".

Assurant shipped me a replacement Galaxy S23 with a terrible battery life = Bad phone
They now want me to ship them my phone and be without one for 24 hrs. Real nice Assurant! Do you want to pay me for lost business as a result? Didn't think so!
They don't care, been months and house not fully fixed, contractors not paid. Adjuster never available they are horrible to work with. Even the contractors have been reaching out and no luck getting help or anywhere w them.

Cancelled policy after moving out of state to a private house. We then created a new policy but when assurant sent the documents, they still listed equity residential as a third party! What?! We immediately cancelled and have been asked to provide even more private information. We are not obligated to have any insurance never mind Assurant. Equity Residential should never have been given our private home address in another state. This whole experience has been disgusting. Stay away!
THIS COMPANY IS CLASSLESS. ASSURANT ADJUSTERS ARE LIARS AND DECEPTIVE! THE ADJUSTER THREATENED AND BELITTLED ME WHEN I FILED A COMPLAINT THROUGH GEICO. IT'S GOING ON 2 MONTHS AND MY WATER DAMAGE CLAIM TO MY HOME STILL ISN'T SETTLED. I'VE EMAILED AND CALLED NUMEROUS TIMES NO RESPONSE FROM THE ADJUSTER OR HIS SUPERVISOR. ASSURANT IS BOGUS AND THEIR EMPLOYEES ARE LAZY INCOMPETENT RUDE AND LACK COMMON SENSE /BASIC ENGLISH. DO NOT GET ANY TYPE OF INSURANCE WITH ASSURANT!
I sent my iPhone to them as a trade in through spectrum. It was inspected at the local store and was in great condition. They sent a claim stating that the screen was cracked. Customer service there is a simply deflector.

I filed a claim 9 weeks ago due to theft at my residence. I was interviewed and treated like a criminal. They have yet to pay any of my claim. They don't answer phone, asked to speak to Manager two weeks ago and they have yet to return a call. Suspect coverages and have to have a receipt for everything I have had my entire life or they say they don't cover the item. If you have any pictures of your items they only cover them at half value not replacement cost. No customer service whatsoever and you are treated with no empathy. Should not have to seek legal counsel in order for my policy to cover what they insured me for and what was paid for.
My phone had a problem, so I paid the £100 excess. The issue was obvious and fixable. I sent it to Assurant three times, only for the phone to come back with the issue unresolved. I have registered a complaint with them and asked for my £100 excess to be refunded. Their final response was to contact the ombudsman regarding my complaint, and they have ignored my request for my money back.
I regrettably sent them my phone, and paid to have it repaired due to a damaged screen.
After wiping the phone, and a fitting terrible third-party replacement (undoubtedly the cheapest parts on the market) it lasted less than 24 hours until the screen was once again broken.
The parts they use undoubtedly remove features such as the IP68 rating, and they aren't gorilla glass.
Save your time and money and go elsewhere, as these fraudsters will just completely waste both your time and money. I regret ever using them.
Tip for consumers:
The company are an absolute shambles.

None of them! I used it as an expensive lesson and got a genuine screen fitted.
Neighbors stole my third 3EIP check along w other mail. The Bureau of Fiscal services sent me a copy image of that check that never came in the mail with my signature forged and my money lost to their theft. 2 years ago, I lost my old drivers license and suspect neighbors broke into my home and stole it. I have purchased Assurant identity theft insurance and two police reports of how I think neighbors committed identity theft with my old drivers license and stole my stimulus check. ASsurant would compensate me to get lawyer more nor for my stolen check and blame it on the fact that police documented it as a suspicious activity. I uploaded both police reports and document from the IRS. I don't know what the police needs to classify my case as… but they are not providing any help even though I purchased iD theft durable with a limit on the policy that states coverage of $15,000. This company is not keeping its promises on the policy I purchase.
I continue to have problems with Assurant Insurance. Please see my notes below
So we are back to shaming Assurant Insurance. They continue to tell us someone will be in touch and it does not happen. My camper was flooded July 2nd and we had to prove we had a current policy and that we paid it. We were told several times our account expired or could not be found. Finally after I started on Social Media some movement. We were assigned a claims adjuster who said he would keep in touch with us. He sent a an adjuster to view our property and take pictures on Thursday, on Tuesday that man called my husband and said we would hear something that day last Tuesday. We have not spoken to anyone since. They do not
Answer our phone calls or emails. I have gotten some messages that someone will be in touch, but that does not happen.
Tip for consumers:
We are promised daily they will be in touch to help us and they do not

THEY DO NOT PAY CLAIMS IN FULL! My car was stolen in July 2023. It is now October 2023 and I have been trying to be reimbursed for several items that were in my car when it was stolen. The claims adjuster has given me nothing but the runaround, even though I have submitted everything that they have asked for, I submitted, please reports, photos of items and an explanation of what has happened, and since the items on the amended police report work "Apple "products I needed original receipts. I do not have original receipts as the items were at least two years old. I pay for this entire policy, including replacement cost only to be told they will not pay unless I submit original receipts. Maddening! Their VP made $1,200,000 last year And I cannot get $895 to reimburse me for my Apple earbuds, wireless keyboard and mouse. Unbelievable.
Assurant is basically a scam. I was sold their plan through T-mobile, but when my screen cracked, I would call them and their automated system would just hang up on me. Days and days later with a cracked phone, I finally got my claim approved, but then I was locked out of their system. Hours and hours of being on the phone later, I am approved again. I go to the store, they don't have my claim on file, and won't do the repair, despite my claim being approved. Assurant sent me to another location, and they don't have my claim on their system either. This company and program is a complete and total scam. I probably spent 20 hours on the phone with people from various countries that don't speak English and I'm left insanely frustrated and without a working phone. I'm letting the world know NOT TO TRUST THIS COMPANY.
I've been paying $18/ mo for 18 mos. Bought it when I got my Samsung Galaxy Flip3 5g about 18 mos ago. I broke the screen didn't have the deductible, so I used my old Note9 for a few mos not knowing apparently the policy is transferable to your current device. When is that ever the case? You can't drive another car when your regular driver breaks down and be covered. I didn't sign anything over to them to allow to transfer coverage to my note 9. Why would I insure a 5 yr old device? So there saying I was not covered on the date of the incident because I was already using my note 9. They couldn't even cover cost and make me pay $99 for a new screen. They are a rip off and I would highly recommend not paying for this. Look at me paid $18 /mo for 18mo, paying over $300, and the first time I need them, they declined my claim. Like I said waste of money. If you have any other offer for this service, I'd go that route. These people are a scam...
Tip for consumers:
They are a scam... any other option, go there.

None... simply filed a claim, was denied.
If you have any insurance products written by Assurant, such as mobile phone, vehicle, or renters insurance for example, cancel the policy immediately, and contact your credit card company and dispute the charges as far back as allowed. They are a ripoff, and their policies aren't worth the paper they are written on. I am filing a multi million dollar lawsuit with class action status against them, and have lodged complaints with numerous NYS regulatory agencies. Sell any NYSE: AIZ stock you might own, this company is going out of business.

PHONE INSURANCE
I entrusted my phone to an insurance company, paying them for years to protect it. However, a recent incident turned my insurance provider into a major source of frustration and disappointment.
Like many, I subscribed to this insurance company's services in good faith, believing that they would be there to assist when life took an unexpected turn.
A few months ago, the nightmare began when my phone suffered irreparable damage. They initiated the replacement process, and I received a new phone from them. However, they inexplicably charged me for the phone on my T-Mobile account, despite providing a replacement.
I contacted them to resolve the issue, but weeks turned into months, and the charge remained on my T-Mobile bill. It was a financial burden, and they refused to remove it
Their response to my follow-up was beyond belief. They claimed they had received an empty package, refusing to reimburse me or remove the charge. It was clear they were denying responsibility.
I came across a similar review from another customer who had their claim denied with the same reason: an "empty package." This reinforced my belief that I was caught in a pattern of deceit.
The total costs, including deductibles, new charges, and years of payments, have left me worse off than the value of the phone itself. This ordeal is a clear sign of a company that values its bottom line over the well-being of its customers.
My experience serves as a cautionary tale about this insurance provider, and I'm sharing my story to raise awareness about their practices.
They don't use genuine parts
They don't use genuine parts, have returned my iPhone 11 with an error message saying NONE GENUINE PARTS!. THE PHONE IS NOW WORTHLESS. Customer service patronising. Nation wide account are useless if this is the sort of company they use. DISGUSTED
I woke up one morning and my phone wasn't working, no external damage but the phone wouldn't turn on. Took phone to my mobile carrier who informed me that there was something wrong with the batter and to call assurant (I have insurance through them). The rep told me that they would overnight me a new phone and my deductible would be $52 which seemed kinda high for the make/model of my phone but I paid it. The next day, no update on shipping so I called delivery service and they don't have my package, called assurant back and they swore they shipped it. Waiting another day, now I can see tracking info but it wasn't to be delivered until the following day. So much for overnight shipping. I finally received replacement phone on day 3 only to realize the replacement is not the same phone I had, not even the same brand of phone. I call assurant and spent almost an hour on the phone with multiple reps telling me there's nothing they can do and I would have to just keep the wrong replacement or return the wrong replacement and be without a phone or buy a whole new one. My husband called afterwards and was told that we'd have to send in wrong replacement, wait a day, and then file another claim on the broken phone. By that time I'm on day 6 of being without a phone. I have yet to receive the correct replacement phone so hopefully they can get it correct this time.
I have spent too much time trying to find out about my plan, & now I see why - 1-star rating from others.
I have been a Tmobile customer for 7-years and during that time have kept my devices insured via Assurant. I have discovered recently just how crooked Assurant really is. My daughter had a Samsung 9+ that she really liked... she also likes to ride horses and during a recent ride her phone came out of her back pocket and she stepped on it. Needless to say the front and back glass was shattered. I put the insurance to use to get it replaced, Asssurant sent a refurbed phone to us, we moved sim and data over, packaged the broke on in the return package, put the included label on it and dropped it into a USPS box. A few weeks later I started getting emails from Assurant that they hadn't received the damaged unit and that they would be charging me for the unit if they didn't receive it. I checked to see what they would charge in the case it wasn't received and they told me it would be around $700. I went onto eBay and found I would be able to buy this particular phone for $250 all day long. So forty five days went by and I was told that they would be attaching a charge to my Tmobile for the cost of the phone. I spoke with Tmobile and they told me if Assurant did the charge they would roll it back and at this point they have done that exactly. Assurant is as crooked as the day is long and at this point I don't have insurance on any of my devices. I will buy a replacement on ebay.
Title: A Nightmare Experience with Assurant, FedEx, and Xfinity - Corporate Thieves!
I recently had a horrendous encounter with Assurant, FedEx, and Xfinity that has left me frustrated and infuriated. After visiting Assurant's website on Sunday to file a claim and paying the required fees, I received confirmation that my item had been shipped. However, three days have passed, and I still haven't received my phone or a refund, and nobody seems willing to assist me in resolving the issue.
When I contacted Assurant, they claimed they didn't have the phone and advised me to call FedEx. Apparently, it's now my responsibility to deal with a shipping problem that Assurant caused. But contacting FedEx proved worthless as I was greeted with a robotic recording, denying any receipt of the package and directing me to contact the shipper. How convenient! Assurant, on the other hand, refuses to help because they insist they've already shipped it. They fail to acknowledge that I am the one left without a phone!
Adding insult to injury, Xfinity, whom I've been paying insurance to for this very phone, refuses to provide a refund. It appears that they have no qualms about pocketing my money while offering zero assistance. I attempted to contact Xfinity three times, only to be put on endless holds and eventually disconnected. The classic trick! And when I did manage to speak to someone, it was always somebody located overseas.
Despite some glimmer of hope when a lady from Xfinity promised to intervene, an Assurant representative shattered it by claiming they couldn't help or issue a refund. Frustrated, I requested a replacement phone through UPS since FedEx has proven time and time again to be the worst shipping company in existence. However, my request was denied.
In conclusion, all three of these companies have proven to be nothing more than corporate thieves, treating customers with blatant disregard. It's high time we united against such corporations. I am now considering involving a lawyer to retrieve five years' worth of insurance money from Xfinity and demand a refund for my phone. Furthermore, I am determined to assemble a petition and fight against these companies' mistreatment of consumers. Remember, stand against corporate America!
