“Good Service for real sellers and buyers”

Steven F.
12/7/18

I've used the service for years and have had no problems with transactions numbering about 20. Of course, they charge even if your item doesn't sell, but that's because they are a marketing service, not a selling service. I like that the transactions are handled via payPal which helps to provide a level of protection for buyer and seller.

“Forum advise removed”

Raymond T.
10/7/21

I leaved a review in forum on how I have been steal by Warren Gregoire receiving a used decca jubilee ($3000) when I ordered a NEW one. He never wanted to get it back, cantilver was tilted, I had to return it to presence audio for repair, a nightmare of 6 month. The goal was to advise people to don't buy from him, but he is a sponsor of the site so they removed my comment. I just cancel my subscription... I it was possible I would rate them 0... and Warren Gregoire minus 10.

So far, I've ran into 2 flaky sellers on this website… luckily, it hasn't been a high-end seller, just a seller that's not responsive to purchasers... Beware of any seller of vinyl albums on this web site… 2 of them have represented albums,
That they either don't possess or can't find. They are not very responsive to the purchaser no major expense but, a pain. It should not take a month to receive an album purchase anywhere in the USA or hear from the seller. Really it's as if they don't want to make the sell. But, why waste our time?

Sold item to individual on audiogon, buyer agreed to pay for upgraded shipping to freight… buyer never paid for upgraded ship, I wrote a neutral feedback on the buyer, and audiogon removed it from the buyer feedback. It was not a negative review it was and honest truthful factual information in what happened. I immediately deleted my account, after 15 years, and I will never buy or sell on that site again. Poor management

If the forums of Audiogon are any indication of the type of people that use Audiogon, I would stay away. It is really a case of the inmates running the asylum. If you are of the "my ears never lie" crowd, you are free to insult, harass, dog-pile, and defame those that disagree with you. It is especially popular with the old-timers. However, try to use a little common sense, or to call out blatant shilling, and see your posts removed and your account cancelled.

It is the audio equivalent of a far-right, anti-science, conspiracy theory site. Totally crazy.

Someone recently tried to have a discussion on rap music. After the overt racist posts, and arguments, which did not go the way of the old timers, the threads (3 now I think) were cancelled by Audiogon. Can't be having a thread where the old timers hang themselves out to dry!

Things are likely okay for them now as wealth grows in the world, but with their very old average age of user, almost exclusively male, but the younger crowd won't put up with the selective censorship, anti-science stance, and just out and out douchery.

Oh, and those threats someone else alluded to? Not a joke unfortunately.

This guy is selling these "Audiovon Ear Buds" for over $70, but they cost less than $7. They are really called "inPods3" - see photo attached. We purchased a pair, when they arrived only one ear bud worked. It has been over a month and this guy does not return phone calls, texts or emails. DO NOT DO BUSINESS with this company... YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.

Tip for consumers:
Avoid this company because if you need service or help....it is non-existent.

Audiogon didn't mention anything about this astronomical fee which is NOT MY ISSSUE since I didn't use Affirm's credit.

Audiogon sucks.
Affirm sucks more. Seller beware.

Can't be trusted. I was the high-bidder for a headphone auction on Audiogon for which the seller cancelled at the very last second. This seemed suspicious to me, so I sent a contact to Audiogon asking for an explanation. In response, they emailed the seller asking for an explanation. The seller gave some spiel about being called out of town suddenly as to why they cancelled the auction. Audiogon's response to the seller: "Perhaps you can message the buyer when you are able to re-list the item."
Wow. This was my first experience with Audiogon. This is also my last experience with them. I guess I got off light, since I didn't lose anything but time. But my time is valuable, and not to be wasted. I doubt this would have happened on ebay.

Products used:
None. I never received the item that I should have won an auction for.

Before audiogon was a rip off, you paid for what you got. Now the site is not only full of issues but their PayPal system is screwed up and they stole my money

I was scammed by one of Audiogon's authorized dealers. Had to get my money back from pay pal after he refused to send an item or refund my money. The dealer cursed me out. It was beyond unprofessional.

Sarah at audiogon customer service could care less. Remember the dealers pay them to advertise. Sometimes for years on end. They care more about that ad revenue than being fair to users on their website. After complaining they suspended my account.

Audiogon is not what it use to be. Buyer beware.

Take your business to Reverb! They appreciate your business, are professional, well run, and competent. Unfortunately I am far from able to say the same for Audiogon. They charge for listings prior to actually listing the item where as every competitor charges upon sale of the item likely due to the fact that they have hands down the lowest sales conversion rate of any site that I have utilized. Their Sales Manager attempted to insist that an 18% conversion rate for aggressively priced listings was "pretty good". I attempted to terminate my account by utilizing their support system and requested both my account with Audiogon as well as my account for their valuation tool. I was emailed by Tammy Holt attempting to convince me not to cancel the account. I received a charge a couple a weeks later for the subscription and emailed back requesting a refund and explaining the situation. The following is the rude, humorous, and unprofessional series of communication I received. Tammy herself is a whim I was again corresponding with and was initially told she never received the request. After pointing out that she could scroll to the bottom of the email chain and see her email, then it became due to the fact that I supposedly didn't request the valuation tool be canceled. All the while she attempted to suggest that it was my fault and they would not be refunding it. I requested contact information for a manager multiple times and was denied. I sent a message to Lindsey Karlson, the COO, via LinkedIn and requested the contact information for one of their managers that I could discuss th matter and with. The response I received was: " Hi Nick, thank you for your note, but I don't handle anything in this area, working with our support team is your best bet. I'm sure Tammy has or will consult her manager on whatever your issue may be that is still unresolved. Thank you.". Ultimately I've gotten a refund by initiating a charge back since they were unwilling to resolve a $10 mistake on their part. This organization apparently is of the belief that their customers need them as opposed to other way around. Take you business to Reverb where your business is will be valued. Maybe Audiogon will someday realize their customers are the reason they can open the doors and begin to treat them as such.

This is the first time i write a review and hopefully the last.
I created an account with these people recently, in order to sell part of my vast LP collection, hesitant initially as i read many bad reviews on various Audiophile sites.
I posted 2 ads for 2 LPs and both sold within 5 days so i was excited with the result. Both items shipped promptly by 2nd class post. Then i listed a pair of headphones, after many messages from a buyer and after providing many good trading references from my ebay account (sold a pair of Krell amplifiers there and many antique items), i accepted buyers offer. Buyer paid immediately through their system with paypal.
Exactly 10 minutes later. Audiogon suspends my account, without any given reason, nor warning or email!
I emailed their support and i received an answer from Tammy Holt stating that my account is fraudulent as i am based in UK and all ebay sellers are crooks!
To my amazement and shock she refused to open the account even after providing them with my ebay id with feedback, she insisted that she closed my account as i didnt provide the buyer with a tracking number! Yes, the buyer who paid 10minutes ago by paypal.
A few hours later i received an email from paypal that the buyers funds are fraudulent and that his payment wasnt authorised, again i contacted Tammy Holt asking to investigate, well she did, fraudsters account is still open and mine remains closed.
I am deeply concerned as i cannot communicate with my buyers through their system, they have my address and my credit card details on their system and i feel unprotected.
They also kept all the funds from my paypal for their commission for the ads i placed to their website, i had to dispute these payments through paypal, they didnt even bother to reply to paypal cases.
I am planning to complain to all relevant regulating bodies in USA for their racing and biased attitude, i am sure as i read the reviews, that there are other people scammed by them.
Whoever needs additional information or have any information to help us shutting sown these people, please provide them here.

If you sign up to Audiogon, you should be aware of what can happen.
You can become a victim of internet terrorism.
This is not a place for the exchange of ideas.
It is a place where people with too much time and/or money hang out to troll, and bash, and lie and cheat, and defame.
On Audiogon, this activity is OK, and even fun to the users.
Horrific, despicable, unethical, users. Criminals.
And they do not care.
You may get trolled. Users will lie about you. They will try to tear you down, and do damage to your account. They will pry into every aspect of your life, to interfere with your life.
They wish to cause you damage. They will call you on the phone. They will send you horrific emails. They will make threats against you. They will harass you.
They will spend their time in simply making your life miserable.
And to them, this is enjoyable.
Many of these users are sick, and even suffer from mental illness.
You may have joined to buy something or find out some audio information.
I recommend that you do not take this chance.
Or your life may be altered in a pretty horrible manner.
Avoid this site like the plague, or it may make you ill.

Seriously. If you want to invite audio-terrorists into your home, well, here you go.

Audiogon.

They require enough personal information from you that they may as well be preparing for a tax audit. And unless you provide everything they ask, it's no go. What the h##l do they need with my PayPal information just to create an account.

When you buy or sell an item on Audiogon, it is implied that their fees give the buyer and seller some means of protection. I was possibly scammed by an Audiogon buyer (details too numerous to go into here), and despite going through Audiogon's official channels, it has been days later, and there is still no response to my claim. Doing some Internet research, it appears this is a major issue with them. There are six claims filed at their local BBB office, most filed due to a failure to communicate (either total lack of communication, or mis-communication). For the fees they charge, I fully expect to utilize their service to help me settle this with the buyer. Yet, nothing. Avoid this operation at all costs.

Tip for consumers:
My advice: avoid Audiogon completely. For the fees charged, they offer no service or support.

Do not ever ship and insure anything through Audiogon!
30 days to review a damaged in shipping claim then they discount it like used car sales men.
I bought an amplifier and the seller generated a FedEx label through AG and used AG's 3rd party insurance, FedEx doesn't offer insurance BTW, and what a nightmare. 30 days later and $100 shy so far, BBB complaint and I'm still not done!

Audiogon.com is a first rate market place for the buying and selling audio equipment... 90% high end audio. I have been a member for over 10 years, and have no complaints. The website is classy, and easy to navigate, and informative. Placing sell ads if simple though more expensive than e-bay. Feedback system is trustworthy, and helps when you selling big dollar items. Site has forums, member reviews of equipment, and a Question and information category to get information, comments and opinions about audio and video related questions. Memebership is free, and members are generally courteous and helpful The site makes you feel like family
