My first car buying experience was made easy by a smooth transaction and very helpful staff, and the crew has given me their full attention to all of my car needs. Thank you once more for your excellent assistance!
I would give zero stars if I could. If you plan to place an ad, DON'T. You will get nothing but illegitimate inquiries. Scams. AutoTrader does NOT screen these inquiries. I placed an ad in the morning and within an hour my email was blowing up with messages from AutoTrader about an inquiry. All fake or scammers. They would not refund my $49 for the Ad. Oh, and they have the worst customer service.
Paul Jeffers recently sold me my BMW 1 series and his care and attention to getting every last little detail in order was priceless. If only everyone paid the same unique customer satisfaction as Paul did getting a new car would be a breeze. Strongly advise people to go and see Paul Jeffers at Motor Range and he will go the full mile and then some to find you exactly what you need. A sterling performance Paul thanks for everything.

After a month of getting only bogus inquiries (not wanting to only go through auto trader) it seemed like a once great service had declined. But then in one day I got a request for a test drive. The buyer made an offer within 2 hours of his test drive. We agreed on price and with auto trader facilitating the sale the buyer picked up his new car 24 hours after his test drive. I received my cash the next day. It could not have been an easier transaction and I have auto trader to thank. Their system minimizes risk for both sellor and buyer and is very reasonable. I would use them again.

When I bought my jeep from someone online I was charged $200 for an escrow fee. They issued me a temporary plate and then took almost 2 months to send me the title and registration in the mail. If I just had the guy give me the title, I could have had it done within two days, instead of driving around with cardboard taped to my car as a temporary license plate. As far as I remeber, they told me my paperwork would be shipped to my door within a week. DO NOT BUY through their platform--pay cash or do something else if you dont want your time and money wasted--$200 to wait two months to get a license plate on the car--crazy!
They advertise cars for you, but sick there noses into car values with out the knowledge, If you try to get a value of a car on there website - it comes back they do not know the car - very one way for trade - don't think they will show this review either
I have always used auto trader to find my next vehicle, there are too many ads and add on's now, basic is better! No need adding cars to searches only to find out they are several states away. I use auto trader to find a car I'm interested in, compare it to others in the area, contact a dealer and see it in person if a deal is within reach.
Before my ad was even posted, I was receiving nefarious texts in regards to it. That tells me Autotrader is selling their phone list in real time! How can you post concerns about all the bad things to look out for and then totally facilitate criminal access to your client records? If this were a free service, I wouldn't have been so surprised. People pay for the service, don't sell their information!
I have recently purchased Toyota Urban Cruiser from R. C. Woods. I have received great service from the start to an end, The vehicle was as described, low mileage, good condition, great value. Most importantly, the company demonstrates excellent customer service by being helpful, professional, honest providing a spotless service!
I recommend this company to everyone!
Appalling Treatment and Deceptive Practices at Toyota of Richardson.
My recent encounter with them was an exercise in manipulation and deceit.
The negotiation process, lasted an excruciating seven hours. To be clear, I made an mistake by not prepping for this, also was not planning to buy a car that day. Also this was my first experience in walking in to the dealership. But the The pressure tactics deployed were not only but left me questioning the morality of those involved at Toyota of Richardson
The used vehicle I purchased was priced so outrageously that it's hard to believe anyone at Toyota of Richardson has heard of fairness. Transparency? Forget about it. Soon I realized the price of the 2021 used car was that of a new 2024 vehicle!
The financial strain caused by their greed is something I wouldn't wish on any consumer. It's impossible as a student to get approved for financing with my current income. But somehow David, Syed Ali found a way to stick me with an outrageous monthly payment.
I share this review not out of a desire for revenge but as a public service announcement. If you value your time, money, and sanity, steer clear of Toyota of Richardson. Their shady practices and blatant disregard customers are nothing short of appalling.
The car was listed briefly a couple of days but had to remove it as I ultimately never won the car auction (back in January).
Upon contacting support, they refused to issue a refund, or even change the car advert to the vehicle I actually own.
In essence, I made a card payment of £50, and they provided absolutely nothing, just keeping the money! They couldn't care less about customer service during lockdown either, completely opportunistic behaviour.
Laughable and atrocious policy - I'm simply shocked a company of this size would seek to retain money in such a deceitful and dirty manner. Have filed a complaint with the Ombudsman.
I listed my used car on AutoTrader and upgraded the package to their promote listing options at a hefty cost. Three days later, the car still hadn't shown up on their website and I'd sold it through Facebook Marketplace at no cost. I emailed customer service about it and they replied that I need to call during their limited business hours, which I will do. This site is really for auto dealers, not individuals, so don't waste your money. The site promotes the dealership listings only.
Horrible website! I get internal error pages when I search in my zipcode for BMWs. Increasing search radius... good luck! I havent figured it out after 10 mins, getting 3 internal error pages instead. Even their survey to improve the website, an annoying pop up, does not function, I clicked on text me, site went back to the initial search page. Highly frustrating. Result? I move on because I cant find your car that you paid to advertise..
I had to write this. Purchased vehicles in both US & CDN on websites but never been on a website as bad as this one, here are my complaints:
1. Setting parameters will only work once and will reset to defaults when you press "back to search results"
2. Very very slow downloading vehicles of interest because it's downloading all the advertising slots it sells to car dealers who think people will read them.
3. After setting search parameters, it found 25 vechicles, but after 45 minutes, I could only view 2 vechicles. That's right, only 2 and I have the fastest internet speed money can buy! But, I had to give up after 2 vehicles because it would take 24 hours to review 25 cars.
There is a reason why we all rate this site so terrible... IT SUCKS!
Really disappointed ~ I paid extra for better placement and visibility. My sale price was within Kelly Bluebook but I didn't get one nibble, not one. Would never pay for this service again. $120 down the drain. Very disappointed.
I advertised on autotrader.com for several weeks. Did not receive one legit call but did get lots of SCAMMERS calling. I wasted my money... don't waste yours. I did sell it buy using an old fashion FOR SALE
I am private, paid $100 for top ad, my car is lowest price #60 of #62. You sort from cheapest first and mine appears last. I am going to CNN with this Autotrader site. I inquiry and all they want is more money. All I want is a refund. You'd think CEO's would see this type of note, but it's some lower employee who does not have the authority to make a small issue go away. DON'T USE THIS SITE! It is heavily towards dealers and their needs, propaganda, etc.
I love the site for buying and for advice, but as a private seller, it was a waste of money. I listed my 2006 Accord with a competitive price (mid 4 figures), and yet in 1 month of listing I got exactly 1 message, and the prospective buyer never responded. All the people who were interested in the car, and ultimately its buyer, came from Craigslist.
The dumbest and most offensive thing is that the site - which is all about paying a fair sum to list your ad - doesn't support LINE FEEDS. (That is the Enter/Return key.) Yup that's right, you pay good money to have your detailed ad turned into a jumble that makes you look disorganized and crude.
BTW this review is essentially identical to my cars.com review - because they proved to be identical. Same price to post, same exact near-zero traffic, and same problem with line feeds. At least cars.com includes a Carfax report.
This is not a good company and that is why I will not support them. I dedicated years to Autotrader. When they closed our office, corporate treated us with unfairness and took away our severance and pension in my office. They don't deserve even 1 star.
Don't waste your time on Autotrader! They suck money out of your pocket and all you get in return is scammers and 3rd party companies trying to charge you more to sell your vehicle. Not one call in 2 weeks, put on a local free site and sold it in 1 day. I would skip...
I paid $75 to "sell" my car on autotrader.com. The car was listed for 2 months and did not receive one call or email. I was worried and was thinking of selling it to the dealer direct option that they have for thousands less. As a last resort i put the car up on craigslist. On one Monday i got 7 contacts and 2 people making offers. I am now worried that i may have put the price too low :) I called autotrader to tell them about this and they told me i was out of luck. Said the only way i could get my money back was to sell my car to one of their dealers. No results and no refund! I asked them if they could at least send the refund to craigslist as they are the ones helping me sell my car. She laughed. At least we got a good laugh. That about all i got!
I recently tried selling my car via Autotrader and did NOT read the fine print. I was okay with the $49 listing fee, but they also take a percentage of the sale price. That being said, I did not receive any inquiries from my listing. After listing my vehicle with them, I put my vehicle on Facebook Market Place and my phone blew up with inquiries. I sold it through FBM within 24 hours for listing price to an auto dealership. My advice is do not waste your time with Auto Trader. BTW, they will reach out for more money to boost your chance of selling it within a day or two. I was so unimpressed with this company.
Don't use Autotrader if your a buyer or a seller. There are so many scammers on this site that genuine sellers would find it hard to sell their vehicles. The scammers on this site are prolific. There are more on here than genuine sellers now. If the price is too good and the body shape in the picture doesn't match the year it's saying it is don't bother! If you enquire and you get an email from a female in the military who won the car in a divorce don't reply.
Had two chat inquiries after paying $50 for the posting. In the same amount of time, Craigslist and eBay had tens of leads. Ended up selling via craigslist which is the cheapest of the lot. Autotrader should return money if they cannot provide leads.
I was advertising 20 cars for 2 months, and i just receive one real call from a customer looking for a car, and a lot of calls from scammer, i paid more than $1,000.00, and now they have me in collection for $150.00, try to be away of this worst place for advertising.
I put two cars for sale on Autotrader...all the (fake) interested buyers are fraudsters and cons artist who are phishing. Autotrader needs to find a better way to filter these people out instead of just 'flagging' and telling consumers to deal with caution and sometimes they don't screen them right. I had five appointments so far that did not show up and no reply to text or phone calls after getting my home address and phone number. When I called to speak to someone at Autotrader management said they look like they usually are calling from other countries. After a week of nonsense, I called autotrader to get a refund on the $100 I paid for the two ads but she said according to their policy they couldn't do it. All that work and time spend and information about the car and downloading documents were a waste of time. This makes sellers feel unsafe.
They allow dealers to post listing of cars that are already sold and not available with ridiculous low prices just to get you to call and tell you the vehicle has been sold already. They also allow dealers to list cars that are certified that are too old to be certified some even 14 years old. I emailed them about this and never got a response. They will do anything for these dealer scammers for a buck
