As others have stated, I almost was turned away from Backcountry by all the negative reviews. But I couldn't find what I wanted on sale elsewhere, and I didn't want to pay full price, so I decided to take a chance. Most of the negative reviews are about the return process. So I was very careful to read the item reviews and size charts. I got what I ordered within just a few days. I paid less than half of what it would have cost elsewhere. I am very happy with my purchase.
Thought I bought a new jacket, but when it arrived it was clearly used. I contacted customer service and they offered a $15 refund or $25 in store credit. I don't understand why they would accept a return from someone if the product was used. I don't think it is fair for BC to then sell the product as new. They could at least let the buyer know the product is in used condition. I will never purchase from this site again.
THE BOX WAS OAKLEY. EVEN NEATLY TO LOOK AS IF THE REAL DEAL. IN SIDE I EXCITINGLY OPEND TO FIND NO OTHER THAN A HUNK OF SHIIIT USED PAIR OF SUNGLASSES. NOT EVEN OAKLEYS. PURE CRAP BUSINESS
NEVER shop at Backcountry.com or their affiliates EVER again! What a terrible business to be suing others for using the word "Backcountry". Childish!
I have been ordering more than 5 times from this website and I never been dissapointed once. Great deal and fast shipping.
I dont normally write reviews, especially negative ones. I myself am a small business owner and I know how people love to just blast service industry companies online but I seriously had a horrible experience with backcountry. I ordered boots on amazon that came from them, never having ordered from them before I was not aware of their terrible customer service rating. The wrong boots arrived, when I contacted them they blamed amazon, ok, amazon gets it wrong I gave them that. So I ordered again and again the wrong boot came, now its getting late in the season and all the boots in my size are disappearing. So I call this time and am told the boot I was trying to get doesnt exist anymore. I switch styles and spend more money, crossing my fingers that the correct boot arrives. Nope, wrong boot for the third time, again I call and a nice gentleman finds the boot I was trying to order tells me there is one left in my size and he is shipping it to me. Even more hopeful this time because I talked to a person who understood the boot I was wanting etc, feeling confident. Got box opened and wrong boot, its the same boot that I got last time. Now we are on boot number 4, again I call and speak to another man who chastises me for ordering shoes online, rude, and then tells me the boot I wanted is all sold out. Perfect, so now the only boot left in my size is this one I didnt want in the first place. I ask for a discount, he puts me on hold for a long time comes back on and asks how 10% is I say not enough and he says thats what they can offer. Big deal a whole $13 off my boots for getting shipped the wrong one FOUR times. There is clearly a disconnect between the warehouse and their POS/catalogue system and obvious $#*!ty customer service. So like I said in the title just move on go to another site dont bother with backcountry
If I could leave a 0 stars I would. I asked one of there associates before ordering(on Friday) some Danner boots from them if I paid extra would I receive them on a particular date(Monday). They assured me no problem, I ordered paid the money, even paid extra for next day delivery. The Next day(Saturday) I noticed that I hadn't been notified of their shipping so I called to see the status of my order. The first call they hung up on me when I tried to give them my order number. The second time I was able to give them my order number to be told that after I paid and was assured of delivery(on Monday) that it wasn't going to be shipped until the day I was supposed to receive it(Monday). They were unapologetic in fact they could have cared less. They just wanted to refund me my money and move on to the next customer. I will NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN! I would use caution as the customer means nothing to them. Even after I asked them what I was supposed to do that I NEEDED those boots(for Tuesday) and counted on them. They could've cared less and came up with some lame excuse and wanting to move on to the next customer. BEWARE DOING BUSINESS WITH THEM! As they told me no problem you'll get them on Monday and then left me with nothing but a canceled order! NEVER AGAIN!
I have spent over $1500 on backcountry.com in the past two months. For the most part, things were fine. I ordered a Patagonia jacket but it arrived missing the patagonia tag in the front. I called and they wanted to verify so I sent a photo over. They said they would initiate the return process. I asked what they would give me if I just kept the jacket. They gave me $20 store credit. I followed the directions and tried to apply it next time I made a purchase, but you could not find the store credit anywhere. I made the purchase anyways. I emailed them again and they said to call and a gearhead can help me apply the credit next time. I did that a few days ago. They applied the credit. I was debating whether I wanted to go through with the purchase, so I waited a couple of days. I finally made the decision to purchase. Everything looked fine on the final confirmation page before purchase, the $20 was included. Once I clicked purchase, the final confirmation did not show the $20 credit. I called them right away hoping someone could apply the credit. The person said her system appears to be down. I should call back and talk to someone else. I called back and another person said the same thing. So now I need to remember to call back on a different day to see if they can get in to the order. If I don't do it soon enough, then they may not apply the credit to this order. This is turning out to be such a hassle to use the $20 credit. Once this is taken care of, I probably won't make another purchase with backcountry.com.
