Backstage is generally well-regarded for its platform, which effectively connects actors and creatives to a variety of projects, enhancing career opportunities. Many users appreciate the intuitive interface and prompt customer support, highlighting positive interactions with specific representatives. However, significant concerns persist regarding customer service accessibility, with frustrations over the lack of live phone support and inconsistent response times. Additionally, some users criticize the platform for outdated features and irrelevant job listings. Overall, while Backstage offers valuable resources, improvements in customer service and platform functionality are necessary to enhance user satisfaction.

I sent an inquiry through Backstage's Help page, and within a couple hours, I already had a response. Usually, other sites take a day or three days to get back to me, if even at all! I was so pleased with the speediness and the thoroughness of their reaponse. The representative that responded really helped me make a decision to stay away from a potentially fraud agent, that did, indeed, turn out to be a scammer! Thank you, Backstage.:-)
Backstage was great with following up on a casting call after the post was tagged as a 'paid' project, but pay was only deferred on possible future earnings. They removed the 'paid' tag. Hopefully future casting calls will be more honest.
Every one pass with a bad review but this review is the best it was good the ward directory and the team and the action of it
For the second time in a week I needed to clarify something on one of my backstage applications. It was a very important question regarding whether or not one If my invites for an audition was fraudulent. Stephanie my backstage customer service representative spent a long time searching the title and producer and found it even though I kept giving her the wrong spellings. She gave me spot on advice of what to do. She saved me a three hour trip, a lot of money and what would've been a horrible experience if I went on the audition. Very good customer service at Backstage.
I had an important question regarding the submissions I was starting to make.
I also wanted to submit something that same day and needed an immediate response.
I got an email back promptly helping me with my issue!
Thank you BACKSTAGE team for making that happen!

GO HAWKS!
There was a time when Backstage was THE source for audition notices, casting information, and practical insights. Today, it's the home of unpaid and background roles, self-serving advice from acting coaches, and celebrity pieces better suited to People magazine.
The daily newsletter is littered with such listings. Yet the site designers won't provide essential information in those listings, such as location, union status, and whether it's a paid role. So cast and crew hopefuls can click on an entry that sounds promising, only to find that it's 3000 miles away, the wrong union affiliation, and unpaid. It can't take that much extra effort to include NY (or LA or Chi or Atl or...), U or non-U, and $.
For anyone trying to make a living in the challenging world of theater, movies, and TV, there are now far more viable options. About the only reason to subscribe to Backstage at all is that it provides an online profile that can function almost like a personal website, letting subscribers post resumes, headshots, and both video and audio clips.
I thought it had a lot of great auditions and submissions but never any response back about anything. I felt like I was just a small fish in a large pond. Richard was very helpful with great customer service.
All the job come very quick and detailed! Very vast options.
All type of open calls. I like the indicators which is paid or non paid jobs.
I got helped by Backstage staff very fast and with great understanding of my request. It was very reassuring to feel that I was actually communicating with someone in a personalised way. Thanks for the quality of connexion ;)
I've loved backstage and everything that it provides. The customer service is excellen and very quick to respond to your needs!
Stephanie was a great help. She quickly addressed my question, told me a solution and it worked! Couldn't be happier.
Setup was simple, navigation was easy, magazines were a great read, plenty of adverts and great customer service (even when I decided to leave). No complaints!
Backstage is amazing. The ultimate connection to the industry in all aspects, for all positions, all locations, all everything. Absolutely a necessary tool if you want opportunity at your fingertips.
Backstage is not only a wonderful resource for artists and those working in the entertainment industry, but the organization is a great example of quality service to its members. I recently received the best customer service - they replied to my request within 2 hours as advertised and offered the best solution for me. I would highly recommend Backstage as a place for artists to thrive and dive in their career and assure anyone that Backstage has their back!
Well im not exactly an active member, but just the questions that were personally answered to me, has me wanting to do this, without feeling out of place, or not right, i feel right about this!
Backstage has been GREAT. Once you ask a question they give you the info and also make sure you are directed to the right place; advertising, help wanted, jobs needed, so forth. It's always been the 'Go to' for me!

If you're looking for a confusing and inefficient web layout, beyond subpar service, and terrible customer skills, look no further than Backstage. Not only do you receive spam from "Casting directors" in your inbox, but the WORST submissions come through backstage. Half of the submissions are for National releases, which are basically one in a million for submitting for an audition. If you do narrow down the search to your local area, it sums up to gimicky song and dance roles that are nominally paid, if at all. As I tried to cancel my subscription, the method to cancel was reamarkably unclear. I was very unimpressed, disappointed, and off put with the rude customer service agent ("Stephanie") in the online chat who couldn't seem to provide me with any help other than to copy and paste full length policy articles at me. STAY AWAY FROM Backstage! Instead: ActorsAccess or LA Casting offer the best roles for actors.
Danny was very helpful and everything was solved in a quick manner. Will use your service again very soon. Best customer service i have experienced. More compnys need to learn from backstage and danny

Hello Victoria,
Thanks for submitting your feedback, and we're sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your time with Backstage.com. I wanted to take a moment to respond to your complaints and clear up some misunderstandings.
Backstage hosts over 30,000 casting calls a year, typically less than 5% are for nationwide submissions and a little over half of them are paid. Although the opportunities available will depend on your location, as you mention, our casting team is working hard to find and post more work in underserved regional locations, so check back often to see what's available.
As stated in our terms and our help center, users can contact Backstage via email, phone, or live chat to cancel their subscription at any time. Our Customer Service Reps are in the office from 10am - 6pm Monday through Friday and ready to help you out with any questions you may have.
