They took my money and told me they wasn't giving it back I cancelled and everything. They charged me two times in one day 1995 The don't have a direct person to person call or anything I am upset
Ben and I chatted twice months apart- he remembered what I needed and was happy to help quickly and easily. I loved how I never had to repeat myself and he always had my best interest in mind
Richard was very quick and was able to pin the solution for me. He stayed with me until I was able to do exactly what was suggested and required. Thank you Richard!
It's awesome and you just have to subscribe like the way you subscribe to Netflix and Hulu IT'S A GREAT WEBSITE FOR ACTORS AND YOU CAN SEE A LOT OF AUDITIONS LIKE THE WAY I SAW A LOT OF AUDITIONS AND SOME WHERE NOT MY AGE THOUGH BUT I FOUND SOME THAT WERE MY AGE AND SOME THAT WERE MY AGE SO I SUGGEST YOU GO TO BACKSTAGE.COM.
Very very annoying to ask for feedback so many time. How many times are you going to email? ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Do not join this company as they charged e 168.00 after I cancelled my membership and they refused to give me a refund and they locked my account so I can't even use it. Use lacasting instead.
Hi James, as you've cancelled your subscription a month after the renewal took place which is outside of our grace period for a refund, we cannot refund you. Your account access was locked after you issued a chargeback with your bank. As discussed privately, if you drop the dispute, you can regain access to your account. Please respond to our email directly if you'd like to continue the conversation and resolve this matter.
We have cast numerous film projects using Backstage. The company's search system is accurate and fast and the number of potential actors/actresses is refreshing. Highly reccomended.
Customer service is rude and unhelpful. The manager Richard was very snarky and did not make me feel like a valued customer.
Listings are scam, as the whole site is.
Hello Diana,
Thanks for submitting your feedback, we're sorry to hear you were unhappy with your service. You unfortunately contacted us almost three weeks outside of our grace period so we were unable to process your refund. We understand that sometimes life gets in the way, which is why we send out a subscription renewal reminder 30 days before renewal so customers have ample time to cancel should they need to.
Additionally, I wanted to share some numbers with you, and give you a little window into the vetting process for our casting calls. In 2017 almost 40,000 casting calls were posted on Backstage, and only an extreme minority (~1%) were possible scams, all of which were removed within a few hours of going up. When a casting call is posted on Backstage, it's automatically labeled as being an un-reviewed 'Instant' item with a scam-prevention warning. Then Backstage's team of casting specialists check every item for authenticity, at which point potential scams are promptly removed. Additionally, Backstage carefully monitors for suspicious site activity and examines feedback from the acting community to identify and eliminate any potential scams that may have slipped through the cracks. Backstage is successfully used to cast more than 100,000 legitimate roles every year, and has been the most trusted name in casting for more than 50 years.
Again, we appreciate your feedback. I'll be communicating it up the chain to see if perhaps we should make adjustments to either our renewal reminder processes, or our refund windows.
Take care!
As a first-time subscriber to Backstage, and a hopeful older newbie background actor, I really appreciated the quick response to my question. Kudos. I'm a fan!
Be careful when providing your credit card to this website. They will continue charging renewals at higher prices. Their refund policy is made in such a way that by the time you see the transaction in your credit card statement that you can't ask for refund. They will charge a full year at $165. They totally rely on this as part of their revenue system. They make a living out of scamming starving artists.
Now let's talk about the website: the design is flawed. Looks nice but the navitation is all screwed. After each time you apply for a role, be prepared to having to browse all the way from the start adding the filters because this website is just not designed for someone to apply to multiple roles. Once you apply for one role it is almost as a check out. You have to go back again to the "search function" enter the filters and jump all the pages till you reach where you were in the beginning.
Most ads are for student productions. Lack of professionalism is to be expected. You will rarely find an actual role, for an actual production. It seems that this website is for productions that can't get actual talent and are looking for unpaid actors.
