Defective Pool Pump Motor; No Response From BackYardPoolSuperstore I received my pool pump motor one day after ordering. First message sent 9-19-24: "I received my pump motor and while 'inspecting before installation' as directed in instructions, #2 states to 'check motor shaft which should rotate freely when turned by hand'. Well, the shaft does not turn whatsoever while gripping hard with my hand and trying to turn. Please advise. " Second message sent 9-20-24: It has been over 24 hours since I notified you of the defective pump motor you sent me. The shaft does not turn. I did move it slightly but the armature obviously gets hung up on stator or whatever and cannot be turned. Totally defective. In fact I think this motor was likely returned to you by someone else because of the way box is taped. I need resolution to this immediately. Thank you. Third email message sent 9-21-24: I believe the item sent to me was damaged during shipping. The armature is obviously hitting the stator or something and will not turn. Repeat the shaft will not turn around ( only slightly). I want a full refund or new motor sent to me. I need a new motor for my pool. You state your response ti inquiries is within 24 hours. We are well past that timeframe." I just returned home and I will now seek other options for resolution. Order Information Order number: AB-117345 Order Date: 9/16/2024
The order process was simple and painless and I received my order quickly and complete. As of right now it was a very good experience and will definitely purchase again. I liked the ease of ordering. I had put instructions on my order to not deliver until after 3/21/16 and was surprised when the shipper wanted to deliver on 3/14/16. The shipper was insistent that they could not hold the order longer than 48 hours. I then contacted your company and your guy stated that I would have to cancel the order since no one would hold the product. I asked your guy about following my delivery instructions and he stated that you don't hold orders either. But the shipper did hold the order and I received it in fine condition on 3/22/16. Even though we had an issue with delivery I received it when I wanted and everything worked out fine. Thank you.
The pump we ordered arrived broken but after a phone call and an e-mail to customer service w/pictures, we were sent a new pump that arrived the next day. The prices are great and customer service is even better. We will definitely shop at Backyard Pool Superstore again.
Not happy about the fact that I had to set up an account despite the page stating that I wouldn't have to. Also, I ordered directly from your website because Amazon did not have options for quicker delivery, and the one shipping option did not provide an estimated delivery date. We're not trying to be demanding, we just want to see what our fastest delivery options are. But I do appreciate the opportunity to give feedback after the delivery. Thanks!
Everything seemed straight forward. Although it would have been nice to see more nomenclature about the product; such as what you might see on the product tag attached to the unit ( pump).
Received my order as predicted, right on time.
Wish there was an option for expedited shipping. More detail such as does it come with the cartridge, the size fittings that it needs. And I still have not received a response for requesting my return. I understand that I had to wait for a number. I have received nothing.
I will not be buying anything else from you. It took 8 days to receive my order. It went half way around US to get to me. I had ordered stuff from other pool suppliers and it only took 3 or 4 days to receive my order.I will not be using Fed Ex on future shipment
I have not installed the pump as of yet. Due to the hot conditions here, i did not dare to leave the pool with no pump for a week so i had to pay to repair the old one. So when the other one fails again i will install it then, so i can't offer much more than the pump is new and seems to be complete and the price was good.
I received my order but the box is damaged.
I have not noticed any cracks since I haven't opened the box but my pool man told me that it might be cracked and he needs to check it first and see if there is any water leak.
Website easy to navigate. Prices are great. I do need to know when the items will be shipped and when I can expect to receive them. I would prefer to have had a shipping choice so I could have requested faster time.

My experience as great. The only complaint I have is the shipping. I work daily and not home to always sign for packages. I would like to be able to ship things to my office. Other than that excellent service prompt shipping.
Prices were awesome. DE replacement cartridge was $40 less then everywhere else and it was the same product. My product was shipped the same day I ordered and it came fast. Definitely will look at ordering from here again.
Appears to have the products I'm looking for at the best prices. I purchased a replacement pump for my in-ground pool. Shipping time was fast, communication was clear and price was the best I could find. I am extremely satisfied with BackYard Pool Superstore.
Product was damaged and company said they had no way to replace. The one I got was the last one they had So just issued refund. Having to wait for funds to make way to my bank so I can go somewhere else and purchase product. Was for a customer not personal order. Customer not happy as there product is failing and wanting to get replaced before total lose of use.
This company is now my 'go-to' company for online pool supplies shopping. I had ordered a wrong part (my fault entirely) and they immediately forwarded an RMA, sending the correct part much quicker than expected given the Covid crisis. The entire transaction was hassle-free. Backyard Pool Superstore deserves a five star rating!
Was charged for complete order but an item was on backorder & I wasn't notified about it until I wrote an email questioning the missing item. And that took several days to get back to me with their answer.
Tried calling phone number numerous times too but no-one ever answered the call.
Excellent. Jacob was very helpful in the order placing process. However, it took what I consider an excessive amount of time to ship the items. I don't mean the travel time, I mean the time it took for them to leave the warehouse. Also, I only received tracking information for the power supply. I never knew where the salt cell was until it arrived at my house.
My only complaint is that you have to have the unit shipped to the address on your cc. I work and am not able to be at home to sign for the pump. I had to take a day off to do this.not happy about that
It took 3 days before the tracking number showed any activity. I was not sure it actually shipped so I sent an email and received a prompt response assuring me it had shipped and indeed it was delivered two days later.
Easy. Quick. Fast delivery. / I don't like the return policy for under 30 days, like new: I will be responsible for original and return shipping costs. That is not cool. Under 30 days like new return should be paid for by store. / In this case, not an issue, as the product received is perfect. Thanks. I'll be back!
Pros: Really good price and excellent delivery (3 days (wow) and the item arrived in excellent condition).
Cons: None on this purchase. However, on my previous order, your CS Rep referred me to the wrong blue lens cap (#*******) for a Pentair SpaBrite light I purchase in the same order. When I recently tried to install that cap, it was inadvertently scratched a bit. Now, reading your return policy, I am unable to return the approx. $20.00 lens cover! Not Happy!
Very ez website to navigate and the prices are super as well thanks for a great product at a great price. Product arrived and packaged well, setup was easy and by far one of the easiest pool cleaners to use. Cleaned our ingorund with in 2 hours and it was priced about 300.00 cheaper than any pool store in our area. I've already communicated with your customer service team and forwarded them pictures and serial number info showing the filthy condition your product arrived in. The problem seems to be isolated to that as the sweeper is in the pool and appears to be functioning fine.
Overall, I am not pleased. The issue was fully my responsibility in that I accidentally ordered the wrong item but before I even opened the box I received I contact Backyard Pool to explain the issue and that I would be ordering the correct filters. Unfortunately, I received an email to return the incorrect filters with instructions that made no sense and I have to pay for the return shipping. Because of this experience I will elect to take my business elsewhere.
