Badoo has a rating of 1.3 stars from 606 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about Badoo most frequently mention fake profiles, credit card, and phone number problems. Badoo ranks 500th among Social Network sites.
This company does not typically respond to reviews
This is the worst dating site ever they blocked my account for something I didn't do and won't reactivate it people be careful with this site they can screw you over worst dating app every don't go here
They are an absolute terrible company to deal with buyer. Beware don't spend your money. I think after my subscription and my credits are out. I'm gonna cancel everything because the company is a total waste of time and money and energy. And I never did a thing wrong either.
Badoo begs you for money far too much and offers you a poor initial experience if you're an average male. Harassing me for cash, when you've given me a terrible experience up front by giving me zero replies or interaction, is a joke. I am a decent, tall, good looking guy, but on Badoo I get no messages, no replies, no likes, and no favourites. And yet Badoo expects me to gamble on spending what is a small fortune on the 'chance' of finding a lady I like. I've literally got better luck with putting my money down a drain, as a passing lady may ask me what/why I'm doing that!
1) You have to pay to message someone if you've made the mistake of 'liking' them first. Unless they 'like' you back.
2) You have to pay to see your favourites, and to clear the notification.
3) You have to pay to get a large number of likes per day.
4) You have to pay to get up the rankings.
5) You have to pay for any of the super power features, which aren't super.
6) You have to pay to 'Increase Popularity' and come up earlier on the matches.
7) You have to pay just to get the super power icon, otherwise you look cheap.
8) You have to pay to start new conversations with an absurdly low number of people, meaning it mostly will be men paying for this feature as men tend to get nothing.
9) Even WITH all this begging, if you're using the web version, they show you adverts too!
Finally, if someone from Badoo is reading this: get rid of the "Free" credits joke. "FREE" IS NOT FREE WHEN YOU HAVE TO PAY.
Just to clarify: My favourite was a friend, we agreed we would favourite each other just to test if it really worked. I got zero real favourites from others.

This company can be sumarized in one word - scummy
Lets forget about the fake profiles and all the other stuff that should make you get premium etc.
Lets talk about the payment system.
I am unaware about purchasing anything in this app, yet it had my credit card details (now granted, i might be wrong, but i know for sure that i did not save the details)
The whole payment system is designed around the idea of user buying the most expensive service in error. (I know badoo, dont bother, its designed to make purchases more convenient to the user)
When selecting any premium service, it automaticly selects lifetime premium account for roughly 100 euros with big green button in the middle - proceed. If you click it in mistake, well... say goodbye to your money as the app has one click payment set up.
Requesting an refund is pointless even though consumer has right to a refund of digital service within 14 days of purchase. They claim that as you recieve the benefits of the premium right away, you lose the right to a refund. This would not stand in court and i am starting to think that collective lawsuit is in order as this happens way to often to a lot of people.
Even if this payment was not performed by you, without your presence or consent (somebody gets a hold of your phone for example) this company just ignores it and refuses to refund you anything. I have reported this to their support staff 3 times and it was ignored every single time. This is once again, illegal.
The only way for you to get a refund, is to go to your bank directly and file a refund request, but you can do that only in case that this payment was not done by you as in my case.

Hi Daniel,
Thank you for taking the time to review Badoo! We have tried to reach out to you but we've not yet heard back from multiple attempts to assist you with this.
When downloading Badoo to your mobile device, our app store and play store descriptions clearly state that Badoo is a free app that offers in-app purchases. In any instance, we offer two very popular services that offer different premium features on Badoo. Credits and Badoo Premium are two separate premium services. Credits are to purchase self-promotion services such as Rise Up, extra shows and Get Featured. However, Badoo Premium is a subscription based service, with the exception of our lifetime plan, that enables you access to many different functionalities for the period you subscribe. E.G. Undo your last no vote, top chat, invisibility and access people who liked you.
In regards to your individual purchase, when performing a transaction on Badoo, our most popular package of Badoo Credits or Badoo Premium subscription period will be selected by default, it's then up to you to decide if you would like to change which package or subscription you wish to purchase. Our most popular services change depending on which one is most popular at the time.
As stated in the terms and conditions presented before making your purchase, you may lose the right to a refund for services that are used or downloaded. Badoo Premium is a service that, once activated, the benefits are instantly received and unlocked. As requested in our message to you, if you would like us to investigate further and check if there is anything further we can do for you, please reply with your registered email address or phone number and we'll be happy to help!
We look forward to hearing from you.

Sadly, Badoo is just another generic dating site that preys on lonely people.
The site proclaims that the site is free to use which is erroneously misleading and wrong. Sure, you can join the site free of charge and you can look through profiles free of charge but that's all you can do unless you pay. You can't send messages, you can't see who 'liked' you as the people's faces are all blurred, you can't send gifts or a crush and you can't see who added you as a favourite. Therefore, this site is completely useless unless you pay. If I could see who liked me and I was interested in them I'd perhaps be more inclined to possibly pay; seeing a blurred face is not going to get me to part with my money.
The search facility is truly awful with the site having an 'encounter' and 'people nearby' feature with both using very limited search settings. The encounter search is merely a swipe left or right while the people nearby is a search for people within a set distance from your town/city. Encounter uses - gender, age and distance while People Nearby merely uses – gender and age. There's no body size, height, race etc so you have to trawl through countless profiles of people whom you have no interest in.
While using the people nearby search you can add someone as a favourite so you can find them again on your favourites list. However, when using the encounters, you can't add someone to your favourite list and you'll have to trawl through 100's of profiles using people nearby in the hope you can find that person. Why you can't favourite someone using both methods seems a bit ridiculous.
There are some real people on Badoo as my sociopath ex is on there but there's so many fake profiles, profiles with nothing on them and dead profiles that haven't been logged in to for a long time that it's not worth your time and effort.
Overall, I can't recommend this site as it offers very little and is just one more dating site that puts all of its limited features and ability to message behind a paywall. The days of dating sites genuinely trying to be a low cost service to help people find a partner is over and are now nothing more corporate entities that use every method to make as much money as possible.

Hi John!
Thank you for your message.
We try to make our app as user friendly as possible, which is why we have implemented a three-step profile deletion process. Simply:
1. Go to your own profile
2. Click the cog icon in the top right corner
3. Scroll to the bottom of the menu and click the 'Delete account' link
If you have any feedback on how we could make this better, we'd really appreciate it. We always listen to our users' voice to plan improvements on our platform! Also, our support team is always available to help, simply drop us a message on any of our social media channels and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
We hope this helps, but please do not hesitate to get in touch with us if there's anything else we can do for you.
If you are an American you will more than likely get scammed from this site. I've read hundreds of reviews on Apple, Google Play and online about this shady site. And my opinion is to not trust them with ANY of your personal photos, or credit cards.
A simple Google search showed me that Badoo is owned by Russian billionaire/ entrepreneur Andrey Andreev and has ZERO consequences to American law. Stick with American dating apps, people. DO NOT SHARE YOUR CREDIT CARD WITH ANYONE ON THIS SITE!
Contact the Apple and Google Play stores and complain to them about Badoo's deceptive credit card practices and scammy way of Badoo kicking people off its site/app.
My profile was blocked today for NO reason at all. Badoo sent me a vague email saying I had broken its community guidelines - which wasn't true at all. Most of the reviews online centered around Badoo charging customer's credit cards and kicking people off its site. No reason was given to any of them as to why they were suddenly blocked from access to its site.
Do not trust them with any of your cards, or PHOTOS! That's the only way Badoo makes money -- These Russian snake-oil salesmen know they can skirt American laws by scamming and running its customer's credit cards. I will be contacting Google Play later on today to tell them this app is a 100% scam! I hope others join me in expressing their frustrations and opinions to Google and Apple!

I have been using Badoo for some years and while I stopped for sometime, I couldn't gain access to my account (*******@gmail.com). A few months after I eventually reclaimed my account from the hackers. A certain person has hijacked my account claiming to be Dr. Rob, a white man. However, I notified the Customer Service team that my account was compromised by an unknown person and my account was eventually restored. As a matter of fact, my phone was stolen during this period. The access to my account was through my stolen phone. I eventually regained the phone back through
The police. I noticed I couldn't verify my profile with a picture as it had been in processing status for over 3 months - I promptly emailed Customer Service about these and a customer service staff named Dominic blocked my account. (Apparently, he said I violated the terms and conditions of the usage and community guidelines based on my previous profile, which I didn't, the illegal person who accessed and hacked into my account). I have also attached evidence of police report documenting recovery of my phone from the stealer and access to my personal data via the theft.
I tried to explain to the Dominic that it wasn't me. I even sent him the police report evidencing the recovery of my phone before the period I reclaimed my account. I also sent links to my Facebook account to verify my claim that I am now the true user of the email address and pictures linked to the account.
I am now considering instituting litigation against Badoo and sue them for several millions of dollars for character misrepresentation and damage to my person as well as damages for time wasted and inability to access my account. I also realized several charges were made by Badoo during the period illegal access was made to my account and Badoo never deemed it fit to refund me or reactivate my account upon all explanations.
Regards,
Geeday
Tip for consumers:
I would recommend users to stay away from Badoo as they are too driven by financial gain and not by delivering customer service. I am sending my legal representatives to start litigation against the company.

Used to be hotornot.com. When hotornot became Badoo I went from having great exchanges with real people to a very sharp contrast of literally literally NO ONE
Literally my rating was 9.7 to 9.8 badoo managed to erase my hotornot rating and set it to their standard 5 star system. Once that occurred, my rating was 2.1. On hotornot I could engage just about any girl I that I wanted to and she would reply back in chat. Real discussions
Badoo.com: I can literally click on ANY person and send them a message
Not only they don't reply. Nobody even reads the messages. But to be sure of that I lowered my standards to EVERY UGLY BETTY on the f* site
Still a lack of EVEN READING THE MESSAGES TO THEM!
Message to UglyB: Stunning. Lets meet!: user has not read this message
Even at that I configured my account so that it even showed when I clicked on a profile. And I just started hitting every other random thugged out plus sized mom of 20: STILL NO PROFILE VISITS - NO one Trys to meet, or even visits. Maybe it's a problem with my profile?
I set up a new one - same sh__
One of the TRICKS they will pull on you: When you attempt to login they will redirect you to a page where it LOOKS LIKE A LOGIN
Instead it's a place to enter your own email address and password for YOUR EMAIL ACCOUNT
That way they can download your contacts and then email every other person you've contacted with a request to join you on a dating page.

This site demands since few that we picture ourselves in a given pose to proove our existence and access more options. But as soon sent was done, requiring several boring attempts, each and every of my older pictures that were totally fine were deleted automatically. I've therefore resend some that were first accepte... but next day, adding a new one made them all reviewed and deleted again by the robot. All were fully respecting the Guidelines (blurry ones, as we'll see soon) of the site. So i went to contact their support team, hoping to be able to reach a human hoping for less stubborness... but that immediately jumped into denial of the technical problem i was reporting. I then politely and factually tried to underline the non-sense of this accept-reject illogical sequence, but the very answer i then received was... the ban of my account with 2 different reasons in 2 distinct emails: one pretending some members (?) reported me as fake profile (!), then the other saying i didn't observe the Guidelines (never explaining how exactly). So i can conclude there's a very serious issue as much technical than commercial on this site, the customer isn't respected if not contempted, the ban is unexplained and abusive and you can find all around the web some comments confirming the same bad experience. I suppose some employee paid by the site will soon comment my evaluation with a vague copy paste justifying the unjustifiable, we can see it so under various witnesses. This won't improve neither experience nor despicable image this site and its staff are sole responsible for. Summon Guidelines in a blurry way when problem is internal does nothing but worsening the situation. Badoo should rather self-question and reorganize its bad practices, judgng by the rate of bad review they have that seem fully justified. In brief, this site that used to be nice (long ago) is now to be run away from and never recommanded... triple zero!

I've been on it for about a month, I'm 57 AND have been matched over 300 times, I have contacted everyone of them, mostly 25 to 35 year olds, whose profile pics look as if they were all models. Almost everyone of them were unable to confirm that they were the same person as was in the profile pictures. I asked either for a video chat with audio or a selfie of them holding a piece of paper with today's date. Guess what! All but 2 could provide what I had asked, and the reason why? Well either their phone and/or webcam were both on the blink. First off there are very few women in this age group that would ever consider a man old enough to be their daddy, not unless he is very rich and famous. Secondly it is easy to discern a fraudulent profile, here's a few pointers, if they state in the profile that they are seeking and older man, then stay away. If the written description doesn't match the profile pics ( for instance the picture shows someone with blonde hair, blue eyes, but the description says black hair, green eyes, then stay away. If their actual location is not the same as the one listed on the profile, then stay away. If they have only a couple pictures, then stay away. If they have no score, stay away. If they only have a couple friends on facebook then stay away. If they say they are studyingor working abroad, in Africa, stay away. A couple anecdotes before I finish, one lady wanted to call me to prove she was the same person in the profile, so I humored them, only it was obviously a dude trying to sound like a female, well I burst out laughing and he got mad and cussed me out in a male voice. At another time I asked the suspected fraud for a selfie giving a peace sign, and sure enough she sent it, only she was really a he wearing a wig, and definitely not the women in the profile. By now I consider myself an expert at identifying a fake profile and enjoy exposing them. I'm not sure there are any real people on this site.

Hi there David,
We're really sad to hear about your experience on our platform. We work hard to keep a database of high-quality real users, and our moderation team works 24/7 to spot any malicious profiles. We also have a photo verification system in place to prevent fake users from using the app. However, we ask that if you're ever suspicious about a profile, please report them so we can check them immediately and take appropriate action.
