I got distraught and stopped the card. But soon I knew mine was protected from such scam. They immediately sent another with a hologram so as to prevent copying it. Also when I went there for current exchange or something, they recommended a couple of cash-reward cards. I am using them and pleasantly getting the cash into my account...
Review for Bank of America: I have been a loyal Bank of America customer for over 10 years, consistently making payments on time. Recently, while traveling abroad, I missed a payment of around $10 because I didn't have regular access to my online account. To my shock, BofA closed my credit line without any prior notice via email. I discovered this only when I tried to purchase a ticket. Despite attempting to resolve the issue through the mobile app and calling international support, I received no assistance. The customer service was unhelpful and informed me that they could not reopen my credit line. To make matters worse, I am currently under a medical situation and desperately need access to my credit card, which is now closed. This experience has left me extremely disappointed and frustrated with BofA's lack of support and communication.
I would give a *0 if possible. Wife was penalized for being responsible. 20 year customer, started with $4k limit, wife worked hard over 20 years to improve credit to just a couple points from perfect and BOA had raised limit to $24k. They just cancelled her account for inactivity with No warning letter, No email, No notice at all. Most companies give a warning letter to allow you make sure it doesnt get cancelled. Now this will affect her credit score she worked years to improve. Debt to income ratio. No help what so ever from customer service. I will be writing bad reviews on BOA often to make sure potential customers see how they penalize their responsible customers and maybe to get customers to drop BOA. Penalized for being responsible is ridiculous, we would have charged thousands to keep that active but no notice, no nothing... just cancelled. Terrible job BOA, shame on you. I hope you lose many customers from all the reviews your about to receive from us. Don't use BOA. Go to Bank of Oz (great bank). Shame on you Bank of America! Penalizing a 20 year customer for being responsible with their finances. Geeze!
On May 24th I deposited $447 into my B of A account via ATM. The machine I formed me that I would not receive all my money back and that it wouldn't count as a deposit. All I got in return was a receipt with a Dispute line number on it. I promptly called and filed my dispute. It is now May 29th and I have heard nothing. The money doesn't show as available to me. It's like it didn't happen, doesn't exist. B of A STOLE $447 and is refusing to give it back immediately. I CANNOT WAIT TO CLOSE DOWN THIS ACCOUNT AND NEVER RETURN. In all my years at Chase, I have never had a problem like this. Unbelievable.

Bank America is the most terrible bank know that have more chiefs and no Indian when the supervisor don't know what they are doing they reface it like fraud? Activity the next step is to close your account they don't work in the same system when a customer call in and tell to the rep what is happening instead the rep to note Tate the issue so when you call in they could figure out what going on? First of all you got to explain your self again again again the only thing they would tell you? Iam sorry for the other rep did not tell you the right problem. And customer service call in it will take at least 3 hour and when you go inside the bank they are either don't know what they are doing and when you tried to call

Sh****st bank of all banks I have ever dealt with!
If you overpay your 200$! Credit card they will suspend it and technically STEAL your money! I overpaid my credit card because their website didn't process the operation correctly (that's why I recommend you only to use their mobile app). So I ended up with almost all my money being stuck on my credit account which I can't use. They believe that overpaying YOUR credit card from YOUR checking account is a FRAUD. Can you believe how bad this bank is?
And I'm stuck with no money and no ability to buy any food. That bank will also make you starve to death!
If you want to loose your money just bring them to Bank Of America!
And all of that happening to me being a PLATINUM client, keep that in mind. That's how bad their customer service is.

Bank of America os the worst bank institution on the planet. Everytime I go abroad my card is blocked on suspicion of fraud even though I tell
Them in advance (not needy to) that I am going alway. Call them up and they refuse to accept my correct answers as being true, calling me a fraud as well. Kaity from Delaware, who calls herself as Small Business Service Manager could not help me and told me basically that I am a fraud and locked my account for 24 hours. I had to get out of a Hotel in the middle of the night because the card did not go through. I had to walk 1 hour and a half to another hotel to get cash to pay for a restaurant, leaving all my documents behind because my card did not go through because they (bank) thought was a fraud. DO NOT USE BANK OF AMERICA. They are a fraud. Not me. I was embarrassed, humiliated by the many places the card was declined and also by the bankers. They are calling me a fraud after over 10 years of business with them. Failure system.Go to a different bank.

DO NOT USE BANK OF AMERICA
I am a loyal BofA client--- have been ever since I left the nest and went to college many years ago. Make all my payments on time for my credit card- never spend more than I can pay off right away- and have been a"Preferred Rewards" client for most of my time. Opened up a HELOC- then with low interest rates am refinancing my home loan with another bank. New bank is fantastic- always answering when I call- calling me often to check on things- and they go to ask BofA to subordinate- that is when all hell breaks lose. I've gone into local branches multiple times- asked for help- no one can help. They can't even reach their own subordination team- had one of the admin on hold for HOURS before he called me back to say he got nowhere. They are so big they cannot even reach their own departments on special associate's lines. Mobile banking- fantastic- but everything else is crap. Now I'm working to get my subordination fee back as they have done nothing to help me get this resolved- and while the local branch staff have said they will refund the $250- they have to do it through the subordination staff- who, you guessed it, just called and told me it is a nonrefundable fee... HERE I GO AGAIN back to the local branch.
Last Saturday on August 27,2022 my family and I visited one Bank of America financial center at 6791 Westminster Blvd, Westminster CA *******.
I could not believe my eyes when I witnessed one manager yelled at a customer and threatened to kick him out if he continued complaining about waiting too long in the line.
She shouted so loudly at this poor man in front of tens of customers waiting in the line and even made him feel so scared, ashamed that he had to shut up his mouth when she threatened to have the security guard kick him out of the bank.
Many other customers were so shocked and terrified when witnessing such a terribly rude attitude of this female manager that some of them left the bank right away while the others showed their disrespect for this manager by shaking their head and showing their facial expression toward this suck manager.
More terribly, this irresponsible manager repeatedly announced loudly that those customers waiting at line should go to other branches if they could not wait for more than 15 minutes.
Where should they go if they were at that center to need services from their bank? The best way they should go is to go to other banks to open accounts with.
I have no doubt that such terrible behavior of that suck manager are making Bank of America lose more and more loyal customers and creating an awfully bad image to the public about the way Bank of America treats and serves their customers.
One lady before she left the bank told the crowd that this rude manager has long been an infamous manager due to her extremely rude and disrespectful attitude towards many customers.
Her name is Jackie or Jacky and ironically she is only an assistant manager at that center, not the manager at all but she acted like a big boss.
Bank of America managers should not tolerate such rude attitude and should let her go before she damage the reputation of your bank more.
They gave me and account allowed someone to commit fraud and closed it before I was even made aware of fraudulent activity less than 30 days
Long wait times (over an hour) hung up on when transferring calls to agent. Phone cues to select problem are not helpful at all.
Warning! Do not use Bank of America
From terrible customer service, rude and liars!
Worst experience with a bank I ever had hands down!
Held my check for $3000 for no real reason. Didn't get a dime of it until 2 weeks later $#*!ing idiots
Had a few problems with my credit card and bank account. Their customer service is great and they're always available!
Go somewhere else. You will wait forever on hold and rarely are you assisted promptly. I highly recommend going elsewhere.
I wish I did research before... Horrible customer support and they are so money hungry. Evade them at all costs.
After being a loyal customer for over 10 years I am finding a new banking institution. They put an excessive hold on a 20k check. 20k is not a lot of money. I get a few days hold which is what I was told when I deposited it. Then they lied to me because I get an email stating it will be 8 day hold. I used to work as a teller and I know that they can see if a check is good within minutes. A check cashing place can see if a check is good within minutes but the 2nd largest bank in the US has to put an 8 day hold. Why? Wells here's why. They put our money in interest bearing accounts and make money off of our money without our permission while denying the customer availability to their own money. Get your money out of this bank in cash immediately and find a local bank that cares about the customer. I hope everyone gets their money out of this bank and they go out of business. This bank is a massive company that is criminal. I am going to be filing a class action lawsuit against BofA to bring awareness to this horrible company. Please get your money out now. If we all did it then they would have no power to hold our money. This is 2022. Everything is digital. This is no reason at all for a bank to hold funds for longer than 24 hours.
Tip for consumers:
Don’t use this bank. Withdraw all your money in cash immediately. Find a bank that cares about the customers or use prepaid cards. It’s time we as consumers take control of our own money.

I submitted a review that excoriated the customer service response to current BOA customers. The credit card that I have with them has been placed in file 57(meaning never to be used again)! I had one simple issue that no one at the branch level was able to address adequately; when I then telephoned the bank about this issue and others, no one was willing to address the issue other than to tell me to call credit card services, which is what I did. I received an email from someone called a Response Specialist. Ironically, 4 calls and voicemails later and after a week; the gentleman who sent me the email from BOA has never responded. Im fine with it because I don't really need to be associated with a bank card that has no way of addressing important issues with its service. I inadvertenly overpaid and yet BOA has charged me; yet, the balance is more than 100 dollars overpaid. I don't know how I made the mistake but I've tried to get them to issue a refund to me which they claim is on its way. I've been waiting. On top of this, I was told that the "system" will continue to charge me 25.00 a month because i have a designated amount (which I do not; I only have my acct to autopay for the occasional "slip up" that can happen). What I do not like is the fact that any card company would charge AND deduct from my bank account on file a standard amount of money each month? WtF? How do they stay in business. I made sure, at least, that they STOP doing that and send me my refund immediately as well. I'm done; unprofessional, unscrupulous and people who are clueless too.
I was on hold for 1 hour and 20 minutes when I finally hung up! I repeat... their customer service is horrible! Do not use BOA!
Horrible customer service. Wait forever to see someone and many staff walking around doing nothing and ignoring customers
Has your child ever received a personal check as a birthday gift? I have four kids (the oldest is 20 now) and we have received quite a few personal checks as gifts for all of the kids over the past 20 years. My husband or I would always deposit or cash the checks in our BOA checking account via ATM or teller without any issues. On August 4th of 2022, I went to deposit a personal check received by my 11-year-old as birthday gift and in couple of days this check gets debited by BOA for no apparent reason. After calling the Customer Service, I was kindly advised that I cannot deposit third party checks, including my own kids, because of the bank's policy. And this policy has been consistently enforced for the past 20 years. When I asked how to fix the issue, I was given 2 solutions. First, to ask the gift giver to consider different form of the gift. The other option would be asking the gift giver for a replacement check (the initial check cannot be returned due to the policy :). Once we receive the replacement check, a proper bank account has to be set up to reflect kids' name on it. After that is done, we would be permitted to cash or deposit the replacement check.
Imagine for a second, you have 10 kids and all of them happen to receive personal checks together as holiday gifts or separately throughout the year as birthday gifts...
I have been with BOA for the past 26 years and, all of the sudden, those vigilant and policy enforcing people decided to confiscate my child's birthday gift BUT they greatly value me as a customer. Also, no explanation or reasoning offered by me would be considered. The policy is more important than the client.
Also, the only solution to the problem is addressing the gift giver and politely explaining that due to their ignorance and my incompetence another check will be needed, or another type of gift should be considered for my completely helpless and devastated kid. Oh wait, what if the gift giver is no longer among us...?
I will make sure that everyone within my reach knows about BOA's ignorant, unhelpful, and unfriendly CSD and how ineffective and twisted the explanation/policy actually is.
I OPENED AN ACCT WITH 100,000. I WAS PROMISED 500. IF I LEFT THE ACCT OPEN AT LEAST 90 DAYS. IT WAS OPEN 120 DAYS AND THEY REFUSED TO PAY UP.
I CLOSED THE ACCT. JUST RECENTLY A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT WAS FILED AND WON, CONCERNING b OF a NOT PAYING UP THE REWARDS THEY PROMISED. I CALLED THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE IDIOTS WORKING THERE COULDNT EVEN UNDERSTAND WHAT i WAS SAYING! KEPT TRYING TO FORWARD ME TO THE CCARD DEPT.
IT REALLY DOESNT GET ANY DUMBER THEN THIS BANK. NEVER A CUSTOMER AGAIN!

Complaint: I waited my turn in the Counter line, while I was waiting my turn some bankers came and invited some customers who were waiting behind me! I kept waiting for my turn, finally it was my turn and I told the banker Madam that " I would like to change my phone number " she said that "She can't do that at the counter so I need to sit on the sofa and wait for the next available banker for change my phone number. Two of the bankers were free but they didn't call me, after that the Mr Banker invited another customer who came after me. The another Mr Banker was free but he didn't invite me either. While I was sitting waiting on the sofa another gentleman entered the branch and said that he wanted to open an account. Madam Banker asked him " Do you have an appointment " and he said "NO" but Madam Banker showed him how to get an online appointment and find him a banker quickly, but I was still Waiting!
After a long wait Mr Banker invited me to his office. He said that he changed my phone number in the system. I checked my online account but it was still the OLD number. He said that "it takes around 30 DAYS to replace the new number in the system! "
I believe, The interior Security camera recorded everything that I told, I'm ready to go the court to prove my allegation!
I felt a deep discrimination!
No Discrimination in the USA!
