Review for Bank of America: I have been a loyal Bank of America customer for over 10 years, consistently making payments on time. Recently, while traveling abroad, I missed a payment of around $10 because I didn't have regular access to my online account. To my shock, BofA closed my credit line without any prior notice via email. I discovered this only when I tried to purchase a ticket. Despite attempting to resolve the issue through the mobile app and calling international support, I received no assistance. The customer service was unhelpful and informed me that they could not reopen my credit line. To make matters worse, I am currently under a medical situation and desperately need access to my credit card, which is now closed. This experience has left me extremely disappointed and frustrated with BofA's lack of support and communication.
I couldn't transfer money between my B OF A accounts. The message stated because of an issue I could not transfer money. I called B OF A and got transferred to 3 different departments. The fraud department told me that the bank has a hold on my accounts that could take up to 30 days. I received no letter from the bank or anything. Then they tell me I can put money into my account but not take it out. Who does that? Once my funds are cleared I am closing my account. How can you hold someone's money without notifying them, then tell them that the account can take direct deposits, but I can't take money out. Ridiculous. That is my money. DO NOT BANK HERE, FOLKS. That is just legal stealing.Pitiful.Go somewhere else...Find a credit union, anything but BANK OF AMERICA...If I could give 0 stars I would...

This bank is not customer focused. Worsed banking experience with no compassion for the customer. The managers could not care less about you. Had misereable experience in bank in Old Saybrook, CT. They tell you one thing and add to the list of things you have to do to have closure. They should be ashamed of themselves in the maturity of individuals who are employed. Would never have them as a partner to take care of my business and personal needs.
I have BOA mortgage for my property. Unfortunately I was traveling and couldn't renew my home insurance. I renewed after one month and have one month lapse. They charged me 500$ for one month lapse and my home price is 300k and my mortgage monthly payment is 1200. Almost they charged me half of mortgage amount as insurance laps for one month. Which is not fare. I never new these hidden cost while I was buying mortgage with them. Be aware and be cautious about BOA. They find way to loot us.

I never had any real beef with BofA, but holy macaroni... I attempted to log into my online account today, and accidentally entered in the wrong answer (from typing too fast) to my "security question" and it WORKED. FAIL!
I have had my fill with Bank of America! I have banked with them since the 1990's.
I deposited a large government check (like a tax refund) and the bank (risk department) wanted to freeze the funds for 3 days. In my lifetime I have never been told that a government check is subject to a hold. That is the second time they were going to do so. To make that whole story short, the check was cleared after a nerve-wracking day of calls and so much more!
Yesterday I wanted to Zelle money to my son. They want $3 for that AND it would take 3 days to clear.
Bank of America is maximizing the amount of time they can hold onto it's customers' money so that it can maximize their profits!
They are money hungry and do not care about their customers. I really hope their customer base shrinks substantially! I hope America wakes up and realizes that it is those customers they are squeezing that made them into who they are and are capable of undoing them.

The agent mis -represented my claim over the phone and stated I only asked for a refund verbally. I explained I had the signed form and the persons name I spoke with regarding canceling and returned that form the same day I placed the order. I had three days to so. On 11.23.2021 the bank gave the money back to the merchant. On Dec 6, the merchant put it back. You asked for a photo but tell me my screen shot was too small. SMH. I'm then asked to join this website when I only wanted to post this story. BOA isn't going have anyone wanting to do anything online with agents in the near future. Then let me know how's that working for you. The transcript wasn't sent to me for months letting me know about the reversal of funds should had a transcript immediately after filing the claim. The whole trans action took place on Sep 3,2021 Need proof look at the account.

We are trying to deposit our proceeds from the sale of our house we go in to BOA on 8th street in fernandina beach. Stood at the counter at the door for a few minutes then was directed to go to to cashier to get set up with someone. We were told that we need to sit and wait for a staff member and the staff member available will be taking the hispanic speaking guy who came on after us he would go ahead of us because he is hispanic speaking. I told them that it was wrong we were first we should go first. There loss.
I use zelle every week to pay childcare. I use it to transfer between banks. I have a broken foot and wanted to use it to pay people when they go to the store for me. 6 zelled never went through. Called Friday through Sunday. Asked if this is common and would it keep happening. "Now and then". Tol my money and went elsewhere. Had the bank for 3 days.

I have never had a bad experience with BOA. I like how their banks and ATMs are ubiquitous (at least where I live in the Bay Area). Whenever I have gone in to speak to a representative they have always been very nice!

As a small business man in Pittsford, NY for forty years, I constantly do work for everyone in my area. I will not accept their checks. I have no choice but to use BOA because I'm currently disabled and biweekly benefits are paid through BOA. BOA the sends you prepaid debit card, I then TRY to add my bank to account to have funds transferred. WHOA WHOA...! I call and have to call again and have to call again because each and every time the phone disconnects. Finally someone may answer only to put me on hold and then hang up. I finally think Im getting somewhere and she come back on the line and says "Um, you've tried to log on too many times and your account is now locked for 24 hours and theres nothing we can do about it"... OK... um you didnt know that 15 minutes ago? On top of that I know my user and password, it was locked before I even tried to log on initially.
Keep in mind these are disability payments and some of us know how long it takes to have disability approved. I need my money, I have bills to pay but most of all ITS MY MONEY and I've already waited long enough. Someone should be able to
I recently applied for the auto loan. They kept workaround for a week; this causes my order was canceled. In order to keep my order, I had to sign finance with my dealer. After that, I called them to cancel the car loan; they said the cancel was requested. After 2 weeks, I still saw my car loan. I called them again. They said they had not received any check from the dealer. I called my dealer and they said they had not received any check from Bank of America and asked me to request the check tracking number or any proof that they sent the check. I called bank again and they could have not provided any tracking number or proof they had sent the check and required me to pay the interest until the loan is canceled. They just kept ask me to call this department and others but no solution was provided. I write this review hopefully help some one to avoid or be careful when deciding to apply the loan with Bank of America. Please be careful!

I booked a flight for my wife and I to Iceland on May 21,2021 and noticed I did not have our names the same as our passports. I somehow got routed to flightsconfirmation.com and they assured me they would change our names for $450.00. Our names have never been changed with Iceland Air and they have never heard of this company. I contacted my credit card company (Bank of America) and they said it happened too long ago (over 60 days) and said to contact the company. I did and they refuse to do anything.
I then filed a complaint with the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau (CFPB) and that did nothing. So I've contacted AARP and Clark Howard. Bottom line, stay away from Bank of America. I've been a customer of theirs for over 26 years and they won't fight for me.

Wrote myself a check from my other personal bank account and they flagged it as fraud and held all my money (over $2K) I needed for bills for 9 DAYS! No one would release the hold and it was the worst customer experience of my LIFE, seriously was. I plan on leaving them and I have been with them since 2000.
We are stuck in another country unable to access our debit or credit cards through bank of
America. We called the rep and they stated it was the app we were using. We explained it wasn't only that app that was declining his card. We are unable to withdraw money with the only explanation of 'card error' the rep was absolutely useless and rude. We will be switching from this absolutely $#*!ty bank when we can return to the states. No wonder they have a million law suits going on, SWITCH BANKS WHILE YOU CAN!
I've been a customer for over 15yrs and with direct deposit from work. Last year when the over draft fees was $35 they will pay every transaction no matter the amount because every transaction even for 5cents is $35, now that the over draft fees went down to $10 they will decline a transaction for a penny.
I deposited US SAVINGS BONDS & BOA is holding all of bonds. They are US SAVINGS BONDS! Last time, they made the funds available next day. My account is in the red for 10 days. I can't buy food, gas or medicine. They do not give a crap about customers anymore. Shame on them

It seems like every time I call them about an issue related to my checking account there is at least a one hour wait time. Sometimes it takes me hours to get thru to the person who can help me.
Today I called about an issue related to a money transfer to another bank. I informed them that this was my reason for calling. Yet they had someone call me back who was not qualified to help with money transfer issues. Her name was Jaclyn from Arkansas. She was rude. Before I could finish describing my reason for calling, she had transferred me to the wire transfers department and I had to go thru the automated system but even though I did everything right in answering their questions it redirected me back to square one, to the initial main menu which then asked me for my reason for calling. So I am back at the beginning starting from scratch and have been waiting for a call back now for another hour. So It's now been two hours and my issue has not been heard.
I will be testing other banks to find better phone support. The slow wait times has been an issue with this bank for years. I have been banking with BOA for decades and I believe the customer support has gotten worse in the last 5 years. All I want is a bank that can help me via phone with any issue within 20 minutes. Is that too much to ask? Can BOA not afford to make their phone support decent?
I was relatively still new. I had opened a checking with BofA in April 2022 because I needed one place for my money and direct deposit rather than different prepaid cards. I opened a savings account with intentions on saving but due to a few hiccups with covid, moving and hospital couldn't afford it. I used my savings to stash money. Last Monday, 7/25/2022 BofA locked my accounts and closed them. They said it was a business decision that caused my my money to be withheld while I wait on snail mail for my money to arrive in a check. This tells me BofA doesn't care about their customers, but they're selfish. My auto insurance wasn't paid as a result of this business decision that really caused me and my family unneeded stress and worry. I don't recommend BofA for anyone!
I'm a college student trying to build my credit and they said I couldn't get approved for their credit card with a score just below 700. They said I didn't have enough established credit or revolving loan to get the card so tell me why I'm able to take a 30k student loan and not a $#*!ing credit card screw Bank of America it's trash.

I can't even give one star to this bank. I have been a customer for over 23 years and recently paid off my credit card. I have never missed a payment and asked them to waive the $50 residual interest fee and they refused. BANK OF AMERICA SUCKS!
I had a $60 charge on my BofA card that I was not notified of until June (via electronic statement). I immediately disputed it with BofA and with the merchant, and reported a fraudulent charge. The response from BofA was if the charge was not immediately resolved that my credit account would be closed and my rating would be credit rating would be negatively affected. After my credit score dropped 100 points, I began getting letters in the mail (sometimes two per day) that my account was delinquent. When I logged in to my account, the balance shows -$60.00, which means I have a $60 CREDIT (not a debt). Thank you, BofA, for messing up my credit and the helpful correspondence. Such a delight experience.

BOA decided to close my account when I reported a few dollars worth of suspicious transactions and with all my thousands in that account, they said I could not get my money mailed as a check for TWO months. Mind you I have a home to pay and animals to feed.
