Deplorable Company
May 29, 2022

On May 24th I deposited $447 into my B of A account via ATM. The machine I formed me that I would not receive all my money back and that it wouldn't count as a deposit. All I got in return was a receipt with a Dispute line number on it. I promptly called and filed my dispute. It is now May 29th and I have heard nothing. The money doesn't show as available to me. It's like it didn't happen, doesn't exist. B of A STOLE $447 and is refusing to give it back immediately. I CANNOT WAIT TO CLOSE DOWN THIS ACCOUNT AND NEVER RETURN. In all my years at Chase, I have never had a problem like this. Unbelievable.

So, yesterday I received a notice about a disputed charge that dates back at least 2 months, that they need more documentation about. I have an email from one of their reps indicating that they had credited my card back then, and thought my case had been ratified by now. I try and look up that charge on a past statement, but only the last 2 statements are listed on my account online. They're closed today and have limited telephone hours of operation (it's Sunday). I have 10 days to give them more information, but will need to pay them $5.00 for them to mail me (from TX, I live in NYS) a past statement that is only 3 months old, that reflects that charge. Chances are, even if I pay the $5 charge for the statement, by the time it gets to my house, it'll be too late, and they'll have recharged my the disputed charge, that I thought had been dealt with already. I've never had to pay for a statement like that. Seems ludicrous to me. Actually, I didn't know that, the "Spirit Airlines" credit card deal of 40,000 points free for signing up was through Bank of America, otherwise, chances are, I wouldn't have signed up, I've had issues with them in the past. I have very good credit, I always pay my bills on time. After calling Customer Service, going through about 10 minutes of prompts, that's when you find out they're closed. The dispute I initiated is valid, yet here I am. They don't give a damn about your time and energy, it's about them not you. Thing with banks, credit cards, mortgages, etc., is that one is thrown in with the rest of unethical garbage out there and expected to fend for themselves, including the customer services reps who clearly have questionable ethics made all the more obvious by their innuendos, clear inaccuracies (that you don't find out about later) and attitudes they present with you after going through their biased A. I System on the phone. Banks are in the business now, of screwing their customers.

Useless
May 27, 2022

They are useless, I'd give them 0 stars if I could. They just keep going around in circles and don't do anything to fix the situation that their system messed up. I
I was banking with them for years going to a different bank now. BOA is garbage.

I have been trying for 8 days to get online access and have stayed on phone for hours and been in branch twice spending 2-3 hours each time and still no one can help me resolve it. I have been transferred from 1 department to another and been given different numbers to call from each representative and it was of no help. Seemed like client support did not understand and kept sending to diff person. This was extremely frustrating. I kept my patience for over 7 days, but now I am tired of not getting any help. I am in distress and have wasted my precious time because of un helpfulness. This is the worst customer service ever.

I deal with at least 4 banks, all majors. Bank of America happens to be the worst of all of them. They have terrible customer service, they charge fees for everything. And not only do they charge fees, but they're double most of the institutions that will waive the fee if you're a customer. As a business owner, I would strongly recommend you not use Bank of America.

I've had an account with them for 6 years and u finally close mine. Each year I wanted to close it but kept putting it off. They make frequent mistakes with the available balance that cause the account to be overdrawn. Some times pending charges are not taken out of the available balance and then when the charges go through at once you are in the negative because you thought you had enough in your account. They love to charge overdraft fees and do not remove them if you call. With other issues as well such as faulty charges they have terrible customer service and have a hard time paying back fraudulent charges. 10/10 do not recommend, under no circumstances.

I'm a 17 year combat Veteran of the United States Army. I got out on a medical discharge I have a job where I got injured at now had surgery and go to work conditioning so I can go back to work: I take Lyft or Uber the the therapy, Lyft charged me twice Troyes dealing with them through the app due to no number this put my account low so I wouldn't be able to get a Lyft or Uber home needless to say I have my service dog with me. I called Bank of America after 3 hours of trying to get ahold of Lyft, I spoke with on representative said he couldn't do anything and sent me to the fraud department I was told the lady that my service dog and I were stranded over an hour away from home and it's cold and raining out, the lady proceeded to give me the run around. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she asked me for my number knowing that If she got off the phone that I wouldn't get a supervisors call till the morning or at least for 24 hours. I held for the supervisor who was very rude and ignorant his name was Mark, I explained the situation to him and he said there was nothing he could do, I also explained to him that I don't have any of my meds. Marc basically said it's not his problem, so I replied him and said I hope is warm and sleeps well knowing that this is not my fault, Marc replied it's not his problem that a Vet and his service dog are out on the streets with no meds and in the rain all night and will sleep well, be warm and have no regrets. I would pick another bank and remind every teller that it was wrong how they treated a 17 year combat vet.

I have used BOA for over 40 years. Currently, as many know, there are multiple Fraudulent websites and markers prowling on the internet. If per chance, you click one by mistake, as it Pops Up, while reading or viewing an article and since computers are so automated (they don't seem to have a chip shortage), a popup displays their product and there are hidden links behind the site and not cookies that put you directly into checkout and the computer fills in your credit card number - when you try to cancel it, you get frozen or a foreign country and all you can do it go to your BOA credit card account and instead of having a choice - of report charge or cancel charge, the only choice is "report it as Fraud." As soon as you do that BOA, with no warning flag, prior to you stating you believe it to be fraud, that they will immediately shutdown that credit card for any future purchases, assign a new card and say 10 days to get another card. You have to call and wait over 20 minutes to get thru to say, please send me the card IMMEDIATELY. In addition, there is no place on the website, (because no statements have been generated), to find out the full number of the card, and details like exp date and security code, so that you can use the new card until the card physically comes in. And if you explain this to a rep or associate, last one I talked to in order to expedite shipping like American express, hung up on me. This is the worst customer service approach ever. With the New Preferred Rewards cards, that I pay an annual fee for the card, they should overnight the card instead of hanging up the phone.

No help
May 11, 2022

Wrote myself a check from my other personal bank account and they flagged it as fraud and held all my money (over $2K) I needed for bills for 9 DAYS! No one would release the hold and it was the worst customer experience of my LIFE, seriously was. I plan on leaving them and I have been with them since 2000.

Changed policy and poor customer service
May 6, 2022

We've been a BofA business customer for years. At some point over the last year or so, BofA changed their policy to assess an overdraft fee on transaction that are processing. This has resulted in overdraft fees on items that never posted to the account. Although BofA has reversed the inappropriate charges, they count against adjustments they will do as a courtesy. Additionally, BofA no longer processes deposits and credits first. On the last overdraft charge there was a deposit wired on Friday 4/29. The detail description of the transaction on BofA site says 4/30 (Saturday) and yet the deposit was not credited until Tuesday 5/3 instead of the next business day which was Monday 5/2. Since there was a transaction processing on 5/2 an overdraft fee was charged. There was a time we were really happy with BofA. This policy change has resulted in poor customer service and we will be moving our business account

OMG I have been with the Bank Of America for over 30 Years and after today I'm ready to leave! Was at the bank today to re-order checks ( yes I'm old school and don't trust online banking and automatic payments out my account) and was waiting for customer service for over half an hour just to put my name on a list to see an officer of the bank. Finally after someone saw me he said you have to have an appointment to order checks. What is going on with BOA no more customer service. Before I would call a phone number on the final book of checks but no more cause the bank wants you to do everything online. The bank has my funds to work with for their investments but I can't get customer service anymore in the bank. The only thing BOA wants is your mortgage, your funds for their investments and charge you fees!

I have struggled with Bank of America for fifteen years, thinking it was too much trouble to change all my business banking. I wish I had made that effort sooner. They value every $5 fee over small business customers that run $5 million a year through their accounts.

They have shut off merchant service processing with no notice on busy consumer weekends. They have charged fees and interest on fees for errors that were their problem. They reversed the error but were unwilling to credit the fees. Even when I called to close the account, I was told that their recent service charge put it $3 in the negative and I would have to put money into the account before they could close it. I had waited almost an hour on their customer service line to be told to deposit the money and call back - that if they closed the account and then the deposit came in, it would reactivate the account and I would be subject to future monthly fees. This is a perfect example of their customer service,

Don't open an account with these people. Your business deserves better.

I would leave zero stars if it were an option.

I'm dissatisfied with their service completely. I just waited 40 minutes to get connected to a regular representative and then another 40 minutes to get connected to the Claims Department. It is impossible. Their customer feel themselves helpless and unfortunately due to their corporate policies no on is responsible for that. Actually, they are get paid to help customer but they are not doing this job properly. They are just gathering good reviews, not the bad ones.

Unfortunately, Bank of America is so far the worst and the most greediest bank I've ever had business with. This bank was on a regular basis attempting to illogically charge me a service fee on a free account by changing the rules and never informing me about any changes. To my calls the answer is always, "I am sorry, I cannot help you!", yet my money are stolen by the bank without my authorization and without updating me on any rules. I simply cannot check my account each month for their fraudulent charges. Please be careful with Bank of America, they will attempt to charge you for everything they desire and you are lucky if you spot those charges as they believe you will just never check your bank statement as many people do.

DONT BANK HERE
April 13, 2022

This is the most over- charging over bank in history ripping off the elderly on their monthly social security checks I guess the Lawsuit wasn't enough charging these fee's $35 for 1.00 and you can't dispute it really. Taking monies and using the system to rob the elderly by electronically charging the small amounts first and pushing the larger charges back. For example I woke up on payday made a payment to my loan early in the morning my loan was paid last 5 days later making it look like my account was overdrawn when it was time to pay my loan this is a new way the system is robbing the elderly and I'm going to contact the State and find out what to do I'm this bank is robbing US. A Better Business bureau is my next stop
