“Pleasantly”

I got distraught and stopped the card. But soon I knew mine was protected from such scam. They immediately sent another with a hologram so as to prevent copying it. Also when I went there for current exchange or something, they recommended a couple of cash-reward cards. I am using them and pleasantly getting the cash into my account...

Review for Bank of America: I have been a loyal Bank of America customer for over 10 years, consistently making payments on time. Recently, while traveling abroad, I missed a payment of around $10 because I didn't have regular access to my online account. To my shock, BofA closed my credit line without any prior notice via email. I discovered this only when I tried to purchase a ticket. Despite attempting to resolve the issue through the mobile app and calling international support, I received no assistance. The customer service was unhelpful and informed me that they could not reopen my credit line. To make matters worse, I am currently under a medical situation and desperately need access to my credit card, which is now closed. This experience has left me extremely disappointed and frustrated with BofA's lack of support and communication.

I just paid my credit card completely off! I have been a faithful and loyal customer to Bank of America... and since day one, I have made automatic payments from my bank checking account with no issues whatsoever! Last month, I simply changed my auto pay banking account number and expected no issues with Bank of America. I mean WHY should there be any issues?! I even kept plenty of money in both the new and old checking accounts, just in case! Howbeit, I was charged a LATE FEE for updating my banking information! Evidently, updating my banking information kicks out the auto pay! I just called and spoke to customer service... They were NOT understanding and VERY unprofessional! They were RUDE and unforgiving! Even though my history of consistent monthly payments did not need forgiveness... It meant absolutely nothing to them! I no longer respect this bank! And I will no longer recommend this bank! HIGHLY disappointed! Do yourself a HUGE favor and STAY AWAY from Bank of AMERICA! I hope this $29 fee is worth it, Supervisor Adrian!

Tip for consumers:
Stay Away!!! Customers aren't valued!!!!

Made online transfer of funds from my B of A checking to another bank for payment of my mortgage. In this age of electronic transfer, their standard transfer time frame is three days. After three days the transfer did not show up with receiving bank. B of A said the receiving bank may take several days to "receive" funds. After additional three days, receiving bank confirmed that no transfer had come in from B of A. Called B of A again and this time they informed me that the transfer had not gone through due to some issue with their 'system'. The B of A representative told me they were unaware of this issue until customers began calling in to find out what happened. Their own system did not flag "anyone" at B of A about the bank's inability to transfer funds for customers like myself who were relying on B of A to fulfill its obligation (by the way, there is a fee for transferring funds, which they will NOT refund despite their mistake in getting funds transferred.) The course of action was to cancel the transfer (and still pay the fee). The translation had "cleared" my checking account so my balance was reduced by the amount of the transaction. However, the cancelation process would require 58 hours to put the funds back into my checking account. So they reduced my checking account the "day of transfer" but couldn't correct my balance for 58 hours! All I got from B of A was disingenuous apologies. They don't give a crap about customers and take advantage of them any chance they get for profit. This is out and out stealing.

I have been trying for 3 months now to resolve an issue with a HELOC. An issue that did not happen on my end, but when BOA's systems changed over. They reported me to the credit agencies (my first EVER) Destroyed me credit score. The one person who actually DID spend time with me (almost 3 months ago) couldn't figure it out.

Fast forward 3 months, I cannot access my account - I can't even pay off because nobody can give me an accurate amount. Every time I log in it gives me a different small amount like $. 38, or $1.00.

I have sent messages through the website with no answer, I have called every customer service number I can find. I have waited for close to 2hs each time I call. I eventually get plugged into a voice mailbox that is full, then the call is dropped. I have even called the local branches and they told me 'They can't help me."

There is literally nobody that will help! I am frustrated beyond explanation. I am so disappointed that I even started banking with this bank.

As I type this I have been on hold for 43 minutes. Shame on you BOA! You will NEVER get business from me again!

We made our normal online payment to our credit card. We then a few days later charged a small amount on that card and it was declined! We then called Bank of America to see what happened and get the situation resolved. So why am I giving this review? Their website made the payment to one of our accounts that had been canceled since 1998, 5 years that account had been closed! I called and they told me that they would fix the problem, I said great. But wait, they then said it would take 2 months to get our money back so we could make the payment or, would you transfer that amount out of our closed account and in just within1 or 2 days, get this fixed and back to our current credit card account. You would think they would say; "certainly sir, we'll get right on that and should all be fixed in the next business day. But no, they did not say that! I had the first person I talked with over the same call, then Had to end up insisting to be transfered to get to a supervisor, and then I had to insist even harder to get a manager so we could fix this fast. In the end I could not get them to budge, they would not do it so now for the next 2 months they get the use of my money, and it was a good size amount of money, they get to put it in their pot and make money with our money! It's wrong that they treated me this way whether a new customer to them or since 1995 like us. We are looking to move our account to a credit Union once this is fixed!

If I could give 0 stars I would. I am a single mother that basically lives pay check to pay check. I finally started a new job that paid a little more than what I was making. My first paycheck at the company was paper since they had not set up direct deposit yet. So I take my check to my local BOA and they tell me that the deposit would not go through until the 2nd of August which was like 4 days away so not too bad. That Monday a day before it was suppose to deposit I was informed it would not go through until the 10th! I called and asked why my check was being held and they said that it was being checked by the fraud department. I work for a government agency so I checked with the treasury department and she informed me that my check already cleared and was in the bank. So BOA is still currently holding my check that they have funds for and will not release it. I am now not able to pay my bills (including rent for which I am getting charged a daily fee for), get groceries, or buy school supplies for my child.

THE. WORST. BANK. EVER. They force their customers to use debit and credit cards with ZERO security! These cards are wide open and ready for someone to drain your accounts. Bank of America does not inform you of this nor give you any choice in the matter. They make these decisions for you, I assume, because they think they know better than their customers what is best for them. If you dare complain about this, they effectively tell you "Too damn bad, suck it." I have been waiting for a SECURE replacement credit card from them since MAY. We are now just a few days from SEPTEMBER and so far, NOTHING. THE. WORST. CUSTOMER. SERVICE. EVER! Think dealing with a government agency is a pain? What about the cable company? Combine those two, multiply by about 10X and that's what dealing with this bank is like. They have been fined HUNDREDS of MILLIONS of dollars by the government for their illegal and unethical ways of doing business. Look it up, I am not making this up! Avoid this bank at all costs! Your money would be safer and more secure buried in your back yard. Do not walk away from this bank, RUN!

I had a platinum BoA credit card, that I used for online purchases. I was contacted by the fraud department to verify some purchases, I had immediately told them that it wasn't me. I'm in NJ, the charges were made in Puerto Rico. They refunded the charges and said they would investigate. 2 weeks later, the charges were reversed and I received notification that they concluded that I had made the purchases. I called back and after being on hold for 15 minutes, I was told that nothing could be done, I explained to them that I could prove that I wasn't in Puerto Rico, they wouldn't hear it. So I waited one more week, called again, nothing resolved. So I paid the bill of $200, THAT I DID NOT MAKE, waited for a zero balance and closed the acct today. I will NEVER AGAIN OPEN ANYTHING WITH Bank of America.

You cannot get in touch with a human at any of the branches located in Miami, Florida. The telephone numbers they publish are non-working numbers.

When you call the 1-800-numbers, you are better off calling a pizza place to have them help you with your bank needs. This 800 number they provide you with, will transfer you from one location, to another location, to another location, then Tampa, then Jacksonville, then back to Tampa and finally will disconnect the call. By the time you figure out the first department you were connected to, you will be so dizzy that you won't know if you were talking to a man, a child or a woman. A child would probably have better manners, ALAS, you were talking to someone who hates their job.

Whether is a new ATM card, the need for a new bank account, or the need to withdraw money, you will not find anyone willing or knowledgeable enough to assist you. DO NOT, fair warning, try to even apply or ask for a home loan. They will pluck you to death for 3 to 6 months and then disappear after you have submitted blood samples and your first born. And if you're looking for a business loan, let's say, $10,000 business loan, you need to deposit a CD of $10,000 with them and then they will give you a loan... WHATT? AWFUL customer service.

The website was such a challenge to get onto. Short version: 1.5 hours on the phone with customer service to help me get on with a temporary password, only to have to go through another hour on the phone later when the temporary password didn't work. By the way, the first hour of each of those calls was because of the multiple numbers that have to be pushed and the wait time and the one disconnection from the BofA side. Calling them sucks! And, if you need to get on the website, you'll need to call if you have a problem!

They basically suck in general.

I closed my account and switched to a nearby credit union.

Guess what?

My credit union doesn't charge me to have an account (B of A did). They don't charge me for replacing lost cards (B of A did). They don't charge me for bounced checks when I accidentally have one about once a year (B of A did). They have weekend hours (B of A here doesn't) and they give me about a dozen free checks a year - more than I'll ever need (B of A didn't) and they actually greet me with a smile (B of A NEVER did) and when I had trouble with getting online, I was online in about five minutes with the assistance of my credit union people (the phone call took all of two minutes to connect with a rep).

Any time I had a question in the B of A bank, I was told to "get online or call the number"... If I came all the way to their bank, do I want to go home and get online or get on the phone - Uh, NO WAY! My credit union always helps me in person, with everything I need... So, F U B of A! I'm so glad I left and I'll never go back!

I explained to her the issue. She didn't consider waiving the ODF. They pulled the money out after I paid the bill. I've had this account for almost 5 years no ODF. I KNOW WAIVING THE FEE WAS AT HER DECRESSION. SHE PRETENDED TO SEE IF SHE COULD WAIVE THE FEE, CAME BACK AND SAID NO. SHE GAVE NO EXPLANATION WHY!

I have not been a big fan of BOA and kept meaning to close my account. I have had a CC with them for the longest time and I can't remember why (some promotional thing I guess). They never did me any wrong, but I thought they were on the high side interest wise and a little too eager to attach late fees. Also, I always had a hell of a time getting logged into their website (had to have this id, that passcode, this site key).

After I paid it off I decided it wasn't doing me any harm. I also looked at the rates and fees and felt that my fears of being overcharged were exaggerated. A few months later BOA calls me up and tells me my World Points were about to expire and I needed to purchase something.

No way! I said I wanted to cash them out. No problem, she said, and sent me 2 $250 checks. That was cool.

Their CC also has Shop Safe feature. If you are shopping online and want to purchase something that requires a CC, you can sign into bankofamerica.com and click-on Shop Safe. Enter the spending limit you want to impose on your purchase and how many months you want the purchase to be valid for and then click: Generate Number.

BOA will generate a new CC number & Security Code (temporary) for you to use at that merchant. This number is tied to your real number, but is only good at that merchant, for that amount, and expires in X amount of months.

The Shop Safe feature and their secure website it why I gave it 3 stars.
