I got distraught and stopped the card. But soon I knew mine was protected from such scam. They immediately sent another with a hologram so as to prevent copying it. Also when I went there for current exchange or something, they recommended a couple of cash-reward cards. I am using them and pleasantly getting the cash into my account...
Review for Bank of America: I have been a loyal Bank of America customer for over 10 years, consistently making payments on time. Recently, while traveling abroad, I missed a payment of around $10 because I didn't have regular access to my online account. To my shock, BofA closed my credit line without any prior notice via email. I discovered this only when I tried to purchase a ticket. Despite attempting to resolve the issue through the mobile app and calling international support, I received no assistance. The customer service was unhelpful and informed me that they could not reopen my credit line. To make matters worse, I am currently under a medical situation and desperately need access to my credit card, which is now closed. This experience has left me extremely disappointed and frustrated with BofA's lack of support and communication.
10 yrs with this bank, no over drafts.
Sent me an application for a loan of $500
Turned me down and did a hard hit on my credit!
Really after 10 yrs.
You guys are horrible and could care less about your customers!
Going on 15 days with no follow up after filing a claim for credit card fraud. After 12 days, I discovered that my initial fraud report did not result in an actual claim being opened. After 9 phone calls I finally got a claim filed. 7 phone calls were within 2 hours as I got transfered from one office to another. At one point I was transfered to a pipe fitting company that had no relationship with BOA. This is dreadful customer service and I'm considering switching to Capital One.
They are explicitly horrible. And the long wait just on the phone for a live representative. I could cook dinner, take a shower and watch a short show and I still waiting for a live agent. Never will I deal with Bank of America. JP Morgan chase is far superior than BOA. Their customer service is top notch
I went in with 5 deposits from my job. I waited in line. When I was next the teller, his name is Cesar huffed and said this is going to take at least 5 minutes. He then started speaking Spanish to the people behind me and holding up my deposits and had a full on conversation with them which made him work slower. He made me feel like I was a huge inconvenience for him and was not nice. I will find another location to do business at and definitely will not be back to this location in Smyrna Tennessee
My business partner received a statement with corrections of erroneous bank charges but said my name was on the account. I haven't been with the company for more than a year. He asked me to call them, which I did, after getting the reaching the robot giving the robot the required info, then listening to the menu, I finally had to hit "0" to get someone.
They have to realize, business people don't have the time to call and listen to machines, menus and "please hold for the next..."
They think only their time is important and "Customers can just wait"! Glad we are done dealing with them!
Don't ever use this bank! That's the minimum I can say to help you. Bunch of incompetent people that hang the phone on you, give you wrong information, hours on the phone and chats and then they close my account because of there incompetent! Now as a result my credit score went down 60 points. Will never use them again for anything!
I went through absolute chaos dealing with fraud at my last bank. I decided to try Bank of America in Homer Glen, Illinois and had the lovely opportunity to meet Cheryl Kasper. She was absolutely amazing, very patient and so helpful in every way possible. Opening a new account was very new to me and she walked me through the process with such ease and made it an exceptional experience! So beyond grateful for her!
Tip for consumers:
Cheryl Kasper was absolutely amazing and made this experience a walk in the park for me!

Opened a new bank account with Bank of America in Homer Glen, Illinois
Basic issue with credit card charge for a flight that was flagged/blocked by the BOA fraud dept. I was on the phone for over an hour and transferred to 4 different agents with no resolution. Absolute incompetence.
I have to wait about 10 minutes, answer 100 questions, then verify everything all over again when they finally do answer. Then they proceed to ask me questions they already know the answer to that wastes even more of my time and really makes me angry. Other than that they seem like an ok bank, and are very conveniently located all over my city. Real stingy about who they lend to though. They don't mind playing with your money and making money off of it while you're not using it. But when time comes for you to need some, expect them to run you through flaming 100 hoops, then tell you no, unless you have lots of money, then they'll give you some. This is not a bank for poor struggling folks like me. Poor people would be much better served by joining a Credit Union like I was wisely advised to by a close friend. They gave me $1,000 line of credit like it was nothing!
When I say worst possible service, I mean my car was broken into (police are involved and everything!) they have now denied my claim twice and took back the credit they originally gave me because apparently they have decided I gave permission to the person to break into my car and spend my money? Additionally, it seems every customer service rep I talk to just lies out there $#*! to get me off the phone. Saying they re submitted the claim only for me to call back two weeks later and they never even resubmitted it. Oh, and this is after waiting on hold for 20 - 40 minutes every. Single. Time. You. Call. Them.
Have banked with BOA for about 7 months now and regret ever switching to them. The govt should allow some financial institutions to go out of business and this is certainly one of them.
Tip for consumers:
LOL, dont. The bank is trash and the worst possible customer service you could get.... Highly recommend using TD Bank if you can.

This bank is horrible. I have to make bank deposits for work and there were 17 people in front of me last week. There were only two tellers opened although there were plenty of other workers in the bank your lucky if they have 2 tellers. After I waited n line for an hour and five minutes to get waited on I was told they have no change. To anyone who is even thinks ng about opening an account there; Do Not!, You will regret it.
Bank of America should close their doors. My 94 year old mom has banked with BOA for over 50 years. First you can never call and speak with a representative at the location you use. Secondly, they closed the location she used and unfortunately she decided to continue banking with them so now I have to drive her over 10 miles to do her banking. And for me the straw the broke MY back... they closed the drive thru. BOA do you have any idea how inconvenient it is for a elderly person to struggle getting inside? Not to mention someone who is in a wheelchair and even a parent with small children. When I asked why they closed the drive thru I was told they didn't have enough staff to cover the window. Really? Shame on your greed BOA!
I want to started by saying don't apply for any loan with them. I applied 5 weeks ago I spent time getting all the information they need and finally today I got a 2 min call saying unfortunately we are not going to be able to process your loan due to you income. I asked them if I can use my son income and the answer was apply again and literally wait another 5 weeks I got 20 other offers and I refused waiting on them. They don't care about you they have plenty of customer and you are one more.
The person. Who called me is very rude and very unprofessional. I will end the review by saying I have been banking with Bank of America for the last 20 years
Over the past 30 years that I have had an account with Bank of America, it continues to surprise me that they still employ extremely unapologetic people in their call centers. Bank of America charges all kinds of fees including a $12.00 fee if you do not keep a daily balance of $1,500.00 in your checking account. They over charge the customer for ordering new checks and also charge expensive fees if you do not keep a certain amount in your savings as well. They are typically rude over the phone and are quite short when customers are in distress over an unexpected fee. I am shopping for another bank/credit union at the moment. I am tired of the hassle. Good Luck to all of us who still use this financial institution.
There is no longer any customer support issue they will address online. If you miss-type your password you have to change it once you complete the recovery process. There are frequent JavaScript issues where the site will only work in one browser, but not always the same browser.
They are up to two months late posting payments and when you call, after waiting untold minutes you get a well that is the credit bureau not staying up to date. Really-all three when all other accounts are up to date. They advertise great cash back but life with them is so miserable I had to dump their charge card.
Open a bank account with a deposit online on a Thursday. I received my welcome letter and my debit card by that next Wednesday. Thursday morning my account was closed. No email no warning nothing just money lost in the account and promised to be mailed to me later. My reason for opening on online account was because all the banks in my area are understaffed and have lines out the front door. They have completely made me lose faith in all banks. Heads up communication goes a long way and before you take someone's money if there is no illegal activity in the account there should be fair warning.
Tip for consumers:
Try another bank first
After experiencing hurricane Ian. I reached out to Bank of America for a credit increase. I spoke with two representatives only to be denied. We're is your compassion or empathy. I hope their top executives or CEO and VP never deal with a major disaster. My thoughts and prayers to fellow Floridians this bank is the worst!
Where do I even start? It took over a month to receive my card but never received my pin. Then I go deposit my check and the teller informed me there will be a two day hold. I'm like okay but then I receive an email that it will take 12 days for my check to be released. Customer service was no help. This bank is just straight ridiculous and I will definitely be moving along.
Totally WOKE BOA is using a bank code to discriminate against those engaged in legal businesses related to firearms and ammunition. Further they give lower mortgage interest rates to minorities thus discriminating against those not considered minorities. The interest they pay on savings accounts, money market accounts and CDs are lower than many. They are not friendly towards hard working middle class Americans.
Tip for consumers:
BOA is very WOKE and Great Reset, GSA oriented. They pay low interest rates on savings, money markets and CDs while charging more for mortgages and other loans. They discriminate against law abiding business owners in the firearms and ammunition industry while helping minorities with lower mortage rates. Get out of BOA and go to a local bank or Credit Union.

Bank of America Customer Service is awful. I can honestly say this bank is definitely the worst. I'm am constantly having issues with them and they just don't care. My credit card was hacked and I got one unknown transaction with $300. After calling, spending many many days on the phone to communicate with multiple customer service agents, that amount is still on my transaction and it affected my credit score extremely fast. My credit score decreased 107 points because of that amount. So hopefulnessing and frustrating with them. I haven't thought I can hate any bank like Bank of America.
I am happily closing my account and never looking back if they were able to solve that issue.
My review is a review of any bank but since i am a BOA customer i will write it here. I think that most people myself included think banks are for our convenience. When in fact they are no different than a business who wants your money and they are the monitors for the government. My examples you put money in them, they make 5% from your money and give you. 5%. They find ways to charge you fees for all trans actions and anything they think will fly without being checked. Everyone has instant access to your money except you the so called customer. They sell products that they don't even believe in i. E. cashier checks, certified checks, bonds. When you have any interaction with them they are condescending and rude.
This is one crooked company. I mailed a credit card payment to them in plenty of time. However, they either did not receive it or it was posted late. Instead of contacting me, they closed my account and reported me to the 3 Credit Bureaus. This was the FIRST late payment they had ever recorded for me. No explanation, no letter, no phone call. My credit score was lowered by 80 points thanks to this sorry bank. I called and called and called Bank of America. Nobody I talked to knew what they were doing; including "management".

Within three days of receiving my debit card I went and deposited $XXX amount of money. Two days after the deposit was mad I was told my account had been closed and I needed to wait 7-10 business days for a cashiers check in order to receive my funds. What about the direct deposit that is supposed to hit my account in a day or two? "Well it'll probably be rejected and you'll have to contact them". Once again that is an inconvenience for me! Why should I have to contact them when my account was closed without proper notice only two days after making a deposit.
I own multiple businesses and have used multiple banks over the years. Bank of America is 100% the worst. They allowed $2,600 to be fraudulently removed from my account, and have been uncooperative about helping me get the money back. As someone who works very hard for her money, I want it to be respected, safe, and I would like to not feel like just a number. I began in search of others who have dealt with the same thing with them, and I have come across hundreds of people in the same boat. They also claim there is no response from the bank, and no communication. I would highly suggest taking your money elsewhere to make sure it is safe.
