It was nice to have someone call back very quickly. Great way to find a therapist in my local area.
So I called in to see what Bark.com's "money back" policy if not successful in getting leads was all about. After speaking for a while, I thought this was a great way to do business and not just scam small businesses like a lot of other online services I heard about. This person with an English accent said to me "if you do not get a job in 10 days call us back and I will credit you your monies paid". I signed up based on this as being a fair shake knowing if no results, I would get my money back. That was the easy part. I paid $132 plus an ISA fee of $3.96 for total charge of $135.96. I was funneled lots of leads and responded to them all by emailing these leads in a very professional basis with even my website reference. All these leads had a cost based on my purchase of their bidding system. I blew through my $132 in no time, and they charged me for another $132 of which I called them immediately and said "no way did I sign up for more than $132". The second person I spoke to assured me if none of the leads come through, to call them back and they will "get you a credit". I said great and put on my calendar the 10 day alarm to call if no leads materialize. Well 10 days did go by and I called them again and they said that it will be "credited to you" immediately. I waited 3-4 days to see my bank account and no credit. I waited another 3 days and still no credit. I called the once again and asked where my credit is. They told me that the credit is NOT refunded to your credit card, but they said they have provided me with $165.00 of Bark.com 'bid monies"! WHAT A SCAM! Was not what the sales people told me. Now I am disputing this for false advertising. THESE PEOPLE ARE SCAM ARTISTS AND MAKE A LIVING OFF OF HARD WORKING SMALL BUSINESSES AND HAVE NO ETHICS!
Hi Vladimir,
We have been in contact with you multiple times and have tried to help you on numerous occasions.
We are sorry that you have not had success on our platform, but we are not a scam, and in fact our business has only been able to grow to operating in 8 countries as a result of small and medium businesses achieving returns on investment using us.
Our website clearly stipulates that our Get Hired Guarantee is the offer of credits returned if no work is won the first time around.
If you wish for any further help or information, please email us at team@bark.com.
Kind regards,
The Bark Team

Hi there,

We're so glad to hear that we could help connect you with service providers who could offer competitive prices.

If you are a postng a job his review isn't for you.
Make sure you understand how Bark wokrs, before you start using it as a Seller. The way Bark is setup is very bad or extermelly anti supporitng people who offer their service. As a proffessional you will have to buy Bark credits and use those to send quotes to any one posting a request.
When people post a request there is no charge to them, but if you want to send a quote it will cost you between £8 - £14, even if the buyer doent look at your quote. You will also have their email address and phone number. But call and email all you want there will be no reply!
It seem slike their site is filled with bots. I sent over 25 quotes and didnt get a single job out of it. I even for the sake of it quoted on the lowest end of price for few jobs.
Also don't be fooled by their 'GHG' scam. They wil oficurse refudn your pack in Bark credits once, but if you still (which is will be most likely the case) dont get any job out of it thats all you loss.
So Bark has no cost to them but they charge you alot for nothing!
Hi there Shahid,
We're sorry to hear that you have not had a positive experience using our platform.
We do contain all the information about how our platform works under the Help section of your account, and our Customer Success Team is available 24/7 to help. We sell each lead to up to 5 professionals and customers do not pay to place requests on our platform - we make this very clear to professionals and are always working to be as transparent as possible about how our lead generation platform works.
We screen every single lead using our automated system and have a credit return policy which allows us to return credits for any leads which are found to have incorrect details. Please email us at team@bark.com if you would like a copy of this and if you would like to report any leads.
Our aim is to get professionals a return on investment which is why we have our Get Hired Guarantee to help them achieve this.
Please do get in contact and we will be happy to help you make the most of the platform.
Kind regards,
The Bark Team
I've been with Bark.com for a few months now as a business seeking clients. I have spent hundreds with them and have answered many potential client requests, I even received some inquiries that said they asked for me and my business personally! Sounds great right? I replied by email, phones, texted, and followed up by email, however, I never bothered with a ton of contact, I'd give a day or two between. I never heard back from one! Not even the ones that requested me personally, supposedly.
In fact, upon contacting some of them, they immediately closed their request.
After months of buying credits and contacting these apparent "hot leads", I haven't even received an email back saying "thanks but no thanks" from these "HOT LEADS".
I even asked at this point, Bark, if they were a scam, and were these leads rubbish? They insisted they were not.
Then one day when I was buying a package of points, or whatever they call them. As I hit submit to buy, a box popped up and it appeared to be the typical box, you're about to make a purchase, get 10% off. Sure, that sounds good since this business has given me nothing so far. I had intended this to be my last purchase, if no lead came through this time. As it turns out, it's a bait and switch box. In tiny weenie letters, it might say something, but I wear glasses and I didn't see anything, other than the % off, which I thought was for being such a good customer.
Nope! Instead, I not only bought my $50 of credits but another $45 of credits. SUCH A BAIT AND SWITCH SCAM. THEN THEY REFUSED TO REFUND ME BECAUSE I USED THE CREDITS MAYBE? I don't know how this site can even live itself really. It's a great business model for the customer because trust me, the businesses on here, are desperate to get a close. But for businesses to be on here, it's a bad purchase. You will waste your money and only get looky loos, non motivated buyers, and people that don't even want an email from you as they will close their account as soon as you reach out to them, to see if you can help them.
When I got suspicious, and I started to research on BBB and other independent review sites to see if my suspicions were real. They were, random sites, I am not the first one and I won't be the last.
SCAM, STAY AWAY.

First became aware of this company when they started spamming our website contact EMail address, with daily (or sometimes multiple spam per day) claiming to be sending us leads for people interested in the services we provide. The only real difference between Bark & most garden-variety spammers is that Bark doesn't lead with their sales pitch - but it's obvious that it is a sales pitch if you try to actually respond to any of the leads they send you, because that's the point where they ask for payment.
The traditional definition of spam is "unsolicited commercial email" - and the the EMails from Bark clearly meet that definition. They are both unsolicited (we never subscribed to mail from them or requested the messages in any other way), and commercial in nature (by being advertisements/sales solicitations for their services).
It also appears that they are making no attempts to comply with federal anti-spam laws, at least here in Canada where we're based - and in our case, their spam was sent to a. Ca domain name, so it's not exactly rocket science to figure out where we're based. CASL, Canada's federal anti-spam laws, requires senders of "CEM" (commercial EMail marketing) - including Bark - to obtain explicit, opt-in consent from the address owner before sending marketing EMail to that address. In our case, since they started spamming an address that they'd scraped from a website, they didn't even make an attempt to give us the opportunity to provide (or decline) consent - let alone actually obtain it.
If you're in Canada and receiving spam from Bark, then the best solution is probably to report them to the CRTC - the federal agency responsible for enforcing the anti-spam laws.
QUOTED PRICE OVER THE PHONE AND KEPT THAT PRICE. REMOVED TREE AND CLEARED UP AFTER. FIRST CLASS SERVICE. WOULD USE THEM AGAIN IF NEEDED TO.

Answer: Bark may or may not be legit, but their barks are very often bogus tire kickers or scammers. They've got a lot of work to do to clean up their act. They need to go straight membership and those needing the work done need to PAY to speak to a professional instead of the professional paying to speak to the bogus tire kicker.
Answer: Your reviews are high on Trustpilot because they remove all the negative reviews from their profile. Bark.com removed my review twice. Trustpilot is the only review website that allows businesses to remove reviews for a price. Trustpilot got criticized in several news articles for being easily manipulated of their 'Reviews' for $600 any business profile can push up or down review they want. Look up 'Trustpilot news articles'; they say 'Trustpilot reviews are just paid advertising'
Answer: I don't think so. They signed me up and sent me a free "lead" I never got a reply to. And then I paid for one credits lead and that didn't get a reply. I then noticed both emails where from the UK. I am a plumber in Canada, but the lead specifically said it was for work in my hometown. Refund policy in place but didn't refund the credits. Not even credited to my account. They also automatically have all my reviews from Yelp, HomeStars etc. that they scraped and posted on their website.
Answer: Agree with above, In my experience, this has been a COMPLETE SCAM. Spend all that money to place an ad, or renew your website, DO NOT INVEST IN BARK
Answer: Bark don't verify whether any of the customer tel numbers actually work and most of the leads are poor quality so they won't answer anyway. Save your money, honestly.
Answer: Very true. Misleading leads. No lead vetting. Just Bark saying leads have been verified. But how do we know when no lead responds. They seem fake to me. Bad experience and worst leading platform.
Answer: Bad lead quality, stay away. Zero customer service. On the phone they will tell you that you are wasting their time.
Answer: The 1 star reviews are real. All the other 5 stars are not. This website preys on desperate businesses that require work and signs them up with a cost. First, they searched deep on the internet as my business has NEVER heard of them before their Spam-my email. They send an email stating that I have a lead on their website that I NEVER signed up on. Then ask for money to see who this lead is. To keep their site running, they say to people who are looking for particular businesses that they have them when they don't.
Answer: £1.20 per credit for a starter pack, then £1.50 after that and unqualified leads with next to no information cost between 10 and 18 credits. 10 leads will cost over £200 and doubtful will generate any work
Answer: It's because the positive customer reviews are almost certainly fake. Look at the dates. Look at the volume of reviews. Approximately 100 positive customer reviews of Bark have appeared on Sitejabber between early December 2019 and today (late January 2020). Compared to the number of reviews they received prior to December 2019, that is just an astounding number of reviews. This is not normal.
Hi there,
