I filed a compliant against a dental company on last month and do this day no one has responded back
Did a complain on homeadvisor. Turned out that it was my fault I signed up to scam from homeadvisor.
I used to trust the BBB, and swore by them. That was back in the 80s/90s. Fast forward to today. If you want to know how good a business is, ask friends and family, check out yelp and google reviews, but DO NOT use the BBB as your resource. They refuse or just plain won't post reviews or complaints if it doesn't fit their agenda.
In this last case, and there have been others but this one takes the cake, the business had an A+ rating on the BBB. There were no complaints filed or reviews posted, at least so it seemed. I submitted my complaint and after back-and-forth between me and the business (the business even claiming I was harassing them because of using the BBB), the BBB quickly deemed my complaint as "invalid". How can a complaint be invalid if it really happened? I emailed them and asked for clarification, and was told that they wouldn't allow a complaint against a company that I had previously took to small claims (case was already over), but that I could post a review. I then submitted a review, the business again responded that by me doing this I was harassing them, so the BBB made the decision to reject my review. No reason given other than it seemed filing a negative complaint or review is bad for their business and they don't want any part of that. They don't want to taint someone's A+ standing even though it's undeserved.
I filed a complaint with the main BBB and to date, haven't heard a word.
To make a long story short, NEVER ever use the BBB as your resource when choosing a business. The BBB brushes negative feedback and reviews under the rug.
The Better Business Bureau's "dispute resolution service" is a joke. I had a roofer do my roof and I had a leak. I asked the roofer to come back and he said he wasn't liable for the leak. It costed me 3k to do the repairs through another contractor. I went back to the roofer and asked him to pay me the 3k and he told me to go to hell. I went to the Better Business Bureau and asked them for help. They told me I had to go through their "dispute resolution service". So i followed suit and emailed them my complaint. They just forwarded to the contractor and they asked if he wished to respond back. They did. So the BBB just handed it back to me and said, "the business made a good faith attempt to settle this matter, do you accept?" They were basically telling me that I had to take what the contractor was giving me. Complete BS stories and lies. Overall, the BBB did NOTHING. I thought they were a government agency but they're not. They're just a non-profit org. That sits and collects cash from business and the pretends to help people. What a joke. Don't trust the BBB, they're pathetic.
I have been a member of Inbox Dollars. For a while and I can truly say their survey site is so awesome! Lots of. Fun ways to earn with them.
What more can I say? The title say it all.
Most business have high grades even if they've more negative than positive, go figure
Just google "BBB 20 20" to see what a scam the BBB is!
NOT TO BE TRUSTED! They take money from businesses to erase complaints and give good scores. Don't pay, get an F
I don't know how the BBB got the reputation of helping consumers; if you ever actually try to use their service you will find that the BBB is only there to shore up the reputations of shady businesses and to give them plausible deniability in dealing with consumer complaints. My opinion of the BBB is so low -- I assume that, if a business is a member, they must be trying to hide something or trying to find a way to make it look like they address consumer complaints, when they don't -- that if presented with a choice between a BBB registered business and a non-BBB registered business, I would probably choose the latter.
I had an experience much like another reviewer here on this site, where the BBB took the complaint, and then, without any notification, said that the complaint had been settled and everything was fine. If the BBB wants any credibility, they need to change their business practices, which are no better than those of their client businesses. In other words, the BBB needs a BBB where it can list itself for consumer complaints. This organization ought to be shut down.
They don't care about consumers, they get their money from the people who rip you off, like Frontier Communications a company that will soon be out of business because it is so poorly run at the top, (Corporate Level).
Despite what their sales people might tell you, (Bait & Switch) Frontier Communications does not do TV any more. Their cable TV is from AT&T. So to get you to switch, Frontier Communications slowly takes the TV channels that you have been watching for four years and turns them into "subscription only" channels. To top it off they have removed approximately 25 channels from me and told the stupid people at BBB that they were preview channels. When I objected to what Frontier Communications replied, the BBB did not allow me to respond, even though I tried numerous times, even going directly to the person at the BBB who was supposed to be handling my complaint. The BBB closed my complaint, because I did not respond. I have three emails where I have responded. The BBB just doesn't want to upset Frontier Communications because they might lose the money that they receive from Frontier Communications.
Don't waste you time complaining to the BBB, just note that they are a lot worse than some of the companies who have been taking advantage and ripping off us consumers.
Better Business Bureau has a rating of 2.2 stars from 142 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases.
