I had to file a complaint against Anker Technologies for their shoddy business practices during the Covid mess. These are the infamous wireless earbud people. This was June 2021, so fairly recent. BBB sends me system email updates that my "complaint is under review and someone will follow up" Then two other emails stating my complaint is marked 'invalid' because it was a duplicate. WTH. I click the links to see their automated response, including a cheap "apology" from Anker. But no option to proceed. So basically Anker STILL has my money, and I won't hold my breath that I'll ever get it refunded!
I put in a complaint with the BBB against FedEx three times in less than a month because FedEx failed to deliver perishables 3 times in a row and the items were all ruined. The BBB did not do anything and basically stated, "Fed Ex's financial responsibility for a shipment tendered into their custody lies with the shipper, the party who paid for Fed Ex's services. You will need to contact the shipper for restitution. If the company who shipped the item will not cooperate with you, you may file a BBB complaint against them." This idiot, named Luke M, closed out another complaint because it was detailed with the listed FedEx tracking numbers and stated that it was a duplicate, which was not true. So, he wasted my time and I had to submit another complaint with less detail. He ended up closing my last complaint because I rejected FedEx's response.
This site is useless for judging a company's good standing in trade - any company can go and pay them and they will give them an A- rating. I have had unpleasant surprises from purchasing from companies who supposedly have a "BBB" A rating.
A site that's sole purpose is to be able to leave reviews, would not let me leave a review. Simply didn't do anything when I would hit submit. Leaving a review for ATT, which already has many bad reviews. Did BBB stop taking bad reviews because ATT asked them to?
I just called BBB to ask exactly what they do exactly, besides just send out a complaint email to the shotty business you can complain about and email yourself... Some EXTREMELY rude ratchet answers my call, constantly I interrupts me, cuts me off, speaks over me, etc., and then hangs up on me! What is this world coming to? Is this my karma? Am I just crazy? I was gyped out of $15 that I will never see again. That might not mean a lot to you, but when you think of just how many times a business gets away with $15-$20 here and there, that adds up to one big fat pretty penny REAL QUICK... but there's absolutely nothing anyone can do for you, unless maybe you can afford a crazy good lawyer
I'm not a fan of this organization. Anyone can pay them to be accredited or approved by them and as long as you keep paying their fee you're accredited. Simple mafia tactic only when you don't pay they don't destroy your shop. They just mark you as unaccredited and might give you a bad review. If this organization was government controlled (which would never happen because of possible reperocussions) then maybe they would have MY approval. Also, FYI to all of you out there any idiot can pay some joe schmo to approve of his business, it still doesn't prove that they are legitimate.
If you have a complaint on a business whether it is online or not, you can go to this website and file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
In addition to posting here, which I fully encourage, check out this site. I had a business screw me over once and I contacted them and filed a complaint and I not only got my money back, I got an apology as well. They send correspondence to the business and they're pretty effective.
You can check out a business as well as blog on the consumer blog. Sometimes you gotta get tough and the BBB has been around a long time. Don't settle for noncompliance. Learn how to protect yourself and your rights as a consumer.
I always recommend sitejammer and the BBB to anyone I know who has been badly treated or scammed by a business. Hit em where it hurts, guys.
I had a horrendous experience with a local business recently. Despite the receipts that I provided and evidence that this business maintained two websites to deflect criticism of their business, the BBB still gives this business an A+ rating and accreditation.
I will never look to the BBB as a recommendation for a business ever again. I think the BBB is there to help businesses only not consumers.
BBB deleted all negative reviews of all customers for the SCAM company gooddog.com and I believe that not for free. Now, this gooddog.com violated all California Privacy Policies and continues to violate our rights, doing false advertising, and collecting private information - this gooddog.com has only positive reviews. This is not right and violates certain laws and regulations. I believe that one scam and corrupted company like BBB covers another scam company gooddog.com.
Why has my stray dog not been listed yet after 3 months. You also assured you would help with food, vets and a kennel. Still... NOTHING. NOT EVEN A REPLY. YOUR SITE IS A WASTE OF TIME AND GIVES FALSE HOPE. YOU SHOULD BE DISMISSED AND ASHAMED.
Better Business Bureau has a rating of 2.2 stars from 142 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases.
