I am not sure how or when to apply BeFrugal. Sometimes a tab shows up on my computer when I place an online order & I select it however, I have no idea what to expect. I would love to know how to make the most of this app. Sometimes it isn't very easy. I see I have accumulated some rewards but I am certain there are times I could use it.
More than once I bought items though BeFrugal but never got the rebate. They make it impossible to report it because the date of the purchase isn't on the form you have to use and if the date is not in their system you can't submit the form. Will not waste my time with them in the future.
I am going to shop, I want and love getting paid. BeFrugal is easy and often times has higher rebate savings than competitors. Requesting my money is easy and fast. Just go through the site to start saving on most purchases you were going to make anyway or splurge on something just because of the additional money off.
I don't get statements on how much I have earned nor can I figure out if there is a way to automatically get the cash back. Not to mention I cannot believe that they send a paper check! I am happy with the amount of money I am earning but tracking and getting the money should be easier.
Befrugal is not a terrible site, but I've had better luck with other cashback sites. I do most of my shopping through other sites that seem to track purchases a little more accurately. Sometimes when cashback amounts are in flux, Befrugal has trouble reporting the proper percentage on purchased. This happened to me purchasing from Dell on black friday a couple years ago. As cashback was constantly changing, I grabbed it at a certain high percentage but when it was reported the percentage back didn't equate to my purchase, it was lower. I've also had issues with purchases through Amazon. But like I said, if they have a really high percentage, killing other sites' rates, I will use Befrugal. But if they are only a percentage or 2 better, I'll take the hit and use a more reliable site so I know I'm getting that money back without any hassle.
I did purchase from HP website going through BeFrugal. It was done in December 2019 and till today (end of Feb 2020), I have not been paid. Upon raising the support ticket, they keep on saying they are still checking with HP to confirm the purchase. I have been using other cashback site rakuten, topcashback for many years and have never experienced this pathetic treatment. I would not recommend anybody use befrugal.
Reversing many cash back too many times when items were purchased through link. They keep saying the site "denied" transaction... yet I supplied the words from the e-mail, supplied the order#, DID NOT cancel the order, and yet I do not get a refund? Never have this issue with Rakuten
This site is 95% a scam. Almost all of my purchases do not credited appropriately for the cashback bonus they purportedly offer. I tried filing an investigation and I can't even select the date of purchase. I KNOW I selected the appropriate link. I make typically 2 online purchases a day and it's happened way too frequently for the 3 or more months I've been a member. I'll go back to RetailMeNot - their bonus level is lower typically but they reliably credit my account.
Yes! Another easy way to earn rewards by shopping online. Great way to earn some extra cash or gift cards. I would definitely recommend BeFrugal to everyone. Doesn't cost anything and all you need to do is sign in to BeFrugal and shop online at your favorite stores. Rewards add up and when you reach $25 you can request payment.
I love this service! I just earned $97.00 in form of an Ebay credit card! I do nothing but simply do the shopping I would have done normally. The discounts are higher here than at other payment sites. Use this service-OR you are mad!
I love to shop, so why not get rewarded when I do. Awesome site. Make sure that you are logged in prior to checking out. If it does not show in your account automatically, simple claim the missing cashback on the site. Customer Service is great as well!
I've been using befrugal for years and It's great to be able to earn cashback from all my online purchases. Although I am kinda sad that some brands I used to be able to get a % from are no longer available (Nordstrom, ebay for example). But it's still pretty good. Their support team is responsive and helpful chasing down credits too.
I had a transaction that sat in pending status for eight months. After eight months they decided to give me some generic canned reply denying payment. In the end I lost $80.00. There are too many cashback websites that are far more honest and reliable. AVOID BeFrugal!
Hi Craig, if we submitted your cash back inquiry to the retailer and it was declined, this means that the retailer reviewed the information submitted and determined that BeFrugal is not eligible for a commission on the purchase. Some stores will provide a brief explanation for why this was not eligible, while others will not provide much information at all.
Common causes for an inquiry to be declined include other shopping sites or search engines receiving credit, using a coupon code not eligible for cash back, or having software from another shopping website installed. I hope this is helpful.
I have made numerous purchases through befrugal. I followed all their instructions to the letter. When I inquired, they "investigated" and said the merchant declined to pay them, so they could not pay me. These guys are 100% bogus. BTW. If you refer your friends, you will never see that $10 bonus; and you'll also have the embarrassment of having subjected your friends to this scam. They claim they don't pay because the merchant never pays them. Well, I shopped at all the same merchants through Rakuten and always was paid. A little weird that every one of them paid Rakuten every time, and they NEVER pay Befrugal. Believe that if you choose. Befrugal will never pay you.
Hello Alex! As I completely understand where you are coming from, I would like to give you some useful information that can help you! BeFrugal is just a cash back portal that connects you to the Cash Back coming from the Merchants. We work solely with the Merchant for Cash Back. Meaning that it comes from them and not us. Once you place an order with a Merchant, it is on them to Acknowledge and then Approve of the cash back. Typically, Merchant's will Acknowledge the pending cash back within the first 7 days. If they do not, we provide the Missing Cash Back Ticket as a Resource for us to reach out to the Merchant and get their attention on the Missing Cash Back.
Each Merchant has their way of tracking the Cash Back. When we send off a dispute, they will respond to our dispute based on their tracking information. There are times where we are able to follow up but it is a case-by-case basis. We are more than happy to help you with your cash back and do what we can to get information it.

Got introduced to be frugal by a coworker who knows I'm heavy into online cash back sites. I use Ebates/Rakuten for the longest and she told me about be frugal... I was shocked to see many of the same merchants - but with bigger/better cash-back deals!
The UX leaves a lot to be desired but I understand they spend a lot of their money securing these deals so I'm not even mad at it... lol overall I just got paid $52+ and I'm happy!
Their hotel deals are amazing... up to 35% earned me a lot. Can't wait to use it again.
I love being frugal and looking for the best deals possible. I shop practically every day, but don't always buy something. I often forget to check with BeFrugal before I buy something, then kick myself for not having earned on the purchase! I've used other cashback programs, but they're not as 'easy-going' as this one. This site is so much easier to use than others and no having to jump through hoops to get paid. I just have to remember to come here before I hit the Order/Purchase box.
Used Befrugal when we book cruise from expedia in Jan, and the cash back amount supposes to be as much as $550! At the beginning, I didn't see any activity regarding this transaction, so I emailed them and sent all the information regarding this. They then added it as pending state. They said I can only actually get the cashback if expedia send inquiry back to them. I don't think expedia has time to return their email to confirm my purchase and they just use it as an excuse to refuse to pay you back if the amount is huge.

(member since Nov 2019) The trick is to just lower your expectation. As my grandmother used to say, "it beats a sharp stick in the eye" so I'll just be happy that there is anything at all. There is no customer service phone number. They have live chat that is rarely available. I did manage to get it today. Learned my Amazon purchases didn't get tracked because I used the extension popup instead of logging into BeFrugal and then going to Amazon. Turns out the extension doesn't actually work with Amazon so I have about $200 of purchases that aren't eligible for rebates. This can work, but it is A LOT of work to follow which categories from which retailers are eligible. And apparently it changes regularly, so just because a purchase was eligible one day, it may not be the next.
I subscribed to direct Tv now, followed all the directions and the link from befrugal.com. They decided to do an investigation, and concluded that I cannot receive the cashback, even though I clicked through their website then signed on to directtv for a 3 month term. Its in your best interest to stay away from this site, they wont honor many cashback deals they offer.

I tried BeFrugal and like other sites seemed easy to use. Spent quite a bit over the holidays. When it came time for my payment it said my PAYPAL would not accept my request. I tried other methods and it would not accept those. As it sits my money in their account and it says I have money owed to me and pending for five months now but will not release it to me. How terrible this site is. Back shopping at Rakuten!
Only hassle is they hold on to cash for a whole 3 months.
But better that than nothing.

The customer service team will work with you if there's any missed online transaction that doesn't appear on your account. Store online % cash back increases whenever there's a big holiday coming up so the trick is to make use of those high cash back rates for your online purchases.
Good payments, but can't request within 15 days of last request and takes 10-15 days once the request has been made. And, your account isn't instantly credited until it's been "approved or confirmed", which can take another 3-10 days. So, minimum 35 days AFTER the purchase...
Very Happy with this extra money. This website seems to pay higher! I just earned $90 on items I was buying anyhow. I like that... a lot! It is kind of silly not to use the app because all it does is give you extra money.
They gave you the $10 that you can not use. Just a joke. It says I have to earn $10 in cash back to be able to use the $10 bonus. Of course, if I earned cash back, I could use it. There is no such bonus sign up they promised and overall no trust. I am removing their extension.

We ordered a new tv online from bestbuy. We decided to use BeFrugal because it had a higher percentage rate. We used the APP to order the product to make sure it would work because it was a big purchase. Weeks later and there was nothing in the account, so we filed a ticket. We were told we don't have anything in our click history we so we are SOL. We even have screenshots showing that we ordered it through the app. Horrible customer service. Next time I will use ebates, we have never had an issue with them.
Hi Leah, we did a thorough search in the system to find any record of the purchase - there was no click history evident, and no sale reported from the retailer. We always attempt to track down an order to the best of our ability when cash back is not reported. Hi Laura, thank you for your feedback. In the "My Account" section on BeFrugal when you are logged in, you should be able to see both your pending and confirmed cash back. You can also see a record of your click activity.
