I've been super lucky and found some great deals on open box items via the website. Got my son a pretty spectacular gaming laptop for Christmas at around 60% off the regular price.
Overall, Best Buy is a complete joke. I've complained to the Better Business Bureau about this company. They are complete rip off. I can't wait until Amazon buys them out and they shut down. They literally stole a package and refused to give me my money back. I found the police report, and they never refunded me for the amount. Then for complaining, they placed me on a no online order or store delivery order List as if I would purchase from them again.
I have shopped at Best Buy for over 15 years and have always counted on them as a local place to get my electronics. I don't even mind paying a little more to support a local store instead of buying from Amazon. But the level of service I receive is as consistent as a politician's responses. One day I'll walk in and feel like I have to beg for help while the employees look at me like I interrupted their good time chatting it up with each other. The next time I'll receive service well above and beyond by a friendly and enthusiastic employee.
My brother bought a phone from our local Best Buy store and decided to get their insurance plan for it for a one time fee. It was the biggest mistake he has ever made. I knew how crappy Best Buy is as a whole, but I didn't think they would scam people out of their own insurance plan since it's on paper. Boy was I wrong. We came in after my brother had his phone stolen which was written on the insurance plan, and the manager said that they don't cover lost or stolen phone per new policy. I told them that they should at least give him a refund because the policy had changed. They said that they were unable to do so because that was also not part of the plan. Sigh... I'm glad I don't buy stuff from them. I told my brother before he bought his phone from them that they're crappy in all aspects. But too many dumb consumers exist which is why they still exist.
I have spent the past 3 1/2 hours with comcast-level customer support trying to find out why the oven that I ordered to be delivered & installed today isn't here & was rescheduled for 3 days from now without my consent (with a 12-hour delivery window). No one at best buy, not online support, not phone support, not supervisors, not 'field managers' has any clue how to help. A truly hellish morning this has been. Never again.
I literally hate Best Buy now.
Tip for consumers:
Don't ever order appliance delivery from Best But, ever.

None, they are refusing to deliver the item I ordered.
I love how Best Buy has everything computer related. They have price match guarantee which is great in beating out other prices from other stores, even the computer manufacturers themselves. I've also never had a problem with their exchange and/or return policies. The only reason I knocked out one star out of the review is the long queue on their Geek Squad.
Tip for consumers:
I would suggest that everyone purchase their tech support program. It really helps and worth the money.
Ordered and paid for washing machine. Waited one month for delivery date. After waiting all day, 12 hour time line, machine never came. Went to door, found, sorry we missed you note on the door. They never knocked on door and avoided cameras with alerts. They purposely did this. Called to complain and met with hostility. They offered to set up new date, three weeks from now. Going tomorrow to get my refund. Will never do business with them again

Will purchase elsewhere
I used to buy there years ago when there was more competition. Over the years, competition is no longer as all went bankrupt. Geek Squad was horribly overpriced and I've resolved in other ways. Plus, they really didn't know much about Macs at all. Today, I hardly go there at all.
Haven't been to the brick and mortar Tiger Direct so I can't comment. I did get a modem there once, and it went belly up within 3 weeks. Sorry.
Whenever I need to buy any electronic products I go directly to Best Buy. Their prices are great. How about buying a brand new IPhone 6 for $1? How can you beat that. I have bought many items here and am totally satisfied!
Sometimes you can get lucky, the stores are nice. The people or geek-squad are complete morons probably an 80 IQ if not lower. I have been in IT for over 25 years and the things I heard there you can't even make up.
Prices and selection are as bad online as they are in-store; I don't know how this awful company stays in business. Product descriptions are sketchy. Questions take days to get a response and when it comes, it does not contain an answer. Ridiculous.
Has always been my offline electronic store of preference. Every time i am looking for electronics, it is at best buy where i actually find it and at a very good price. People there are very professional and work motivated, so you are never on your own.
I've bought a lot of computers, electronics, etc. from Best Buy. They have improved their return policies. I especially like "Geek Squad" and their help by buying a yearly maintenance package which I have used a lot.
Not enough employees to answer questions but generally very knowledgeable.
I've purchased items from them over the years. Too many questions upon return - even unopened items. I'm returning it for whatever reason I need to - and I want my refund without the condescending remarks of the cashier... but I like their warranties - so there you have it.
We moved to the Prescott, AZ locale and went to Best Buy for the first time needing assistance with a new cell phone SIM card. How friendly and helpful Josh was, and took the time, even though busy, to address all my questions.
We then returned to ask the Geek Squad team about a concern we had with one or our computers, and was very pleased with this great team! They are so darn nice and patient with me, who is not very computer literate.
We came back and spoke with an employee about a printer that would suit our needs and were very well informed with their choices. We did purchase one that day and it has been great almost 6 months later.
This has been our first choice to patronize since our move here almost 2 years ago.
We could not be happier with each and every visit concerning this particular store. I highly recommend others in our area to check out this store due to awesome customer service!
We are going though a medical and financial hardship and I was paying our bill I thought on time per the online statement but they said the due date was not correct and charged us over $100 in late fees. Do yourself a favor and buy from someone else!
Tip for consumers:
Customer service is not helpful and rude!
Overall I love Best Buy and the only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 is their sales guys always bug me in the store. I know they are not on commission or anything but whenever I ask once simple question it's like they never shut up. So I started doing everything online, that way I avoid that problem.
Anyways, I did order a cable for my computer several weeks ago and it was defective. I called Customer Service and they were really great, I got a new cable without issue. Best Buy really is a great place to find what you are looking for, maybe I just have rotten luck with the sales ppl...?
We were looking for a computer with a built in web browser, and on their site, we found a 48" Sony with a built in browser for $379, so we ordered it. When it arrived, the "web browser" was a set of select web sites with (mostly) pay per view movies. After a day of frustration, we called "best buy" to return it, and they informed us that they knew it didn't have a browser, and to bring it back, and they would find one "comparable". What my wife came home with was a 50", that she had paid $80 more. I had assumed we would be traded even for their obvious misrepresentation of the product. But with no shame they talked her into throwing good money after bad. Stat away from this den of thieves. They would steal the gold from your teeth, if they could.
Ordered an item on sale, my card was debited within 1 minute. Then call and say not available, go to help site takes 30 minutes to reach a person who just tells me go to online chat. They locate the same item only at full price with free shipping. Told would arrive 26-Oct, today is 04-Nov and still no item and chat site will only sell me something not help me with my problem. Just cancelled with my bank. Never again!
Tip for consumers:
How truely terrible they are and no customer service and dishonesty.

None 10 days later I still dont have the product.
They did however send me an email asking if I was enjoying my new product.
I had a very difficult area to mount my 72 inch big screen. I called the guys at Best Buy and they came out within a week and did it for me for $150. I really can't say that I have ever been happier. Thank you guys so much.
Tip for consumers:
For the best product in the best service these guys really are the go to place.

A big screen TV mount, one that swivels left and right.
I have been buying things from best buy for a long time now. Overall, it has been a good experience. There are times, when I don't get the right things, or there is a better price available elsewhere. But 7 out of 10 times, they manage to surprise me.
Specialists don't know their products. In one visit I had the TV representative tell me that Samsung 75" TV was made by Vizio because Samsung USA was going bankrupt. Offered to sell me a different brand to avoid warranty issues in the first 30 days.
In the computer department the young lady had a very difficult time answering my question about the difference between two printers other than one was an HP. We were able to find the information on their website though!
Do your research.
All the products that you could desire backed up with a prompt delivery system. I always receive shipping emails and can easily track the delivery process. You will not be dissatisfied with Best Buy in any way.
Bought computer for my daughter at G. I. Ne store. Very pleased with all the employees who helped us. Especially Gary Thompson, he was very nice & knowledgeable. The Geek Squad was great also. Overall great experience.
The most horrendous customer service. Good luck if you wanna talk to your "local" best buy. These guys are a joke. The number you get transfered to does nothing but try Google your questions, it surely seems.
I spoke to both Best Buy and FedEx at least 2 times about delivery of my $2,000. Computer. Was assure that the deliver of my computer required a signature by both. Best Buys phone system is designed to push you off and not let you speak to a live person. Then they can't answer any questions, then they can't transfer to the right people who can. Extremely rude customer service and they have no resources to resolve ANYTHING. I waited at home for delivery of a computer that never came - even though the FedEx tracking said it was out for delivery to me. Then the status was changed to delayed on the next day... As of 1 hr before delivery, it still said "delayed". They left it at my front door without signature or any safety consideration at all. I will be returning this computer unopened and never buy again online from Best Buy or if I can help it delivery through FedEx.
Based on my experience, as well as the vibes of numerous blogs and complaints listed on the internet, Best Buy has terrible customer service and very poor business practices. Where they got this stuff if beyond me!
Best Buy sells all manner of consumer electronics: HDTVs, computers, cell phones, DVDs, laptops, tablets, video games, and just about everything else. Best Buy's website reflects both in-store and online merchandise.
