After seeing the negative reviews from others (of course this was after I had placed my order), I was very nervous. The shoes arrived in a week and are exactly as I expected. Fedex delivered and I was able to track my order. The Betsey Johnson site wasn't easy or reassuring about the order getting placed - like sales tax and things, but they did send me email notifications of order received, shipping date and when it had been delivered. No complaints here.
These people do not honor anything on their website. 2 days processing is nonsense. I'm at 10 days and my order is still unfulfilled and they still won't commit to a shipping or receipt date. NEVER AGAIN - run away. Fast.
BetseyJohnson.com has the absolute worst service of any online retailer I have ever purchased from. I never write negative reviews, but this was seriously so disturbing I felt it necessary. I ordered a pair of shoes to wear on my wedding day. When I received them 19 days later, one shoe was a 6.5 and the other was a 7.5. I contacted them within 10 minutes of receiving my delivery. The response was to start a return. No other help or apology offered. When I started the return, there was no option to state that the company made an error. Then they wanted me to pay for the return! I called them back. I waited on hold for about 15 min before being disconnected. I tried the "live chat" only for no one to respond. I called again, nothing. After 3 more calls I finally get through to someone who says they will refund me and send me a label to send the items back for no charge. And then I get the email with the label and refund minus a "processing fee" that happens to be the same amount as shipping. So now I have no shoes to get married in and a retailer insisting I pay for their mistake. No thanks. F BetseyJohnson.com. Never ever buying anything with that name on it again!
I ordered a product in February and I still have not received it. In March I emailed the company and got a reply 3 days later about them looking into my question. When I got no response I called the company line, and I was told my product was delayed. The date for the delayed shipment has come and passed again, and still I have nothing that I ordered. I don't know why this company does not give updates, and if you are curious you have to search order status yourself. Mine has said "unfulfilled" since February. They never have sent an email saying status is delayed, or even offering a "do you still want this product?" And you think, I should cancel my order, and the response is I was charged immediately for the product and I have already paid it off months ago. But yet here I sit, with nothing I have purchased. I would suggest buying from Macy's or a department store if you really want Betsey Johnson. This company doesn't care if you get what you ordered.
UPDATE: My product finally came 6 months later, 6 months to the exact date I ordered them. Let me remind again, they did not say they were pre order--- the boots are pretty, the review stands because I wanted to wear them 5 months ago. And the website barely in July added that they were a pre-order to the site. And still no real customer service, or even a promo code because they charged my credit card instantly and sent no product for half a year. I still say, save yourself a headache, buy from Macy's.

Buy from Amazon, or Macy's or a Third party. This website is absolutely awful.

Sadly in case of pre-order items we can only provide estimated shipping dates as the shoes are still being manufactured and we are waiting for them from our factories and at this moment we have yet to receive them. I placed an order with BJ and they just replaced them with some random item (cheap plastic sunglasses) It is my responsibility now to return these even though I didn't order them. Ridiculous!
Ordered merchandise and two days later, my payment was still pending. Are you kidding me. I tried calling to see what the problem was and waited on line for someone to pick up the phone... 32 MINUTES... Are you kidding me again? Customer Service is KEY. I live in Canada and recently tried to order a pair of shoes online and it was a whole ordeal. The shoes themselves are listed as 130$ on their site so I purchased these using a 20% discount so I got a couple of bucks off. Fast forward and I saw they charged my 182$ for the shoes in total (with a discount included!)
Then I received a call from FedEX saying I would be charged an additional 60$ in fees to cover duties = this brought the cost of the shoes to 242$...
Getting a refund was a challenge in itself because apparently Betsey Johnson customer service cannot cancel orders themselves so I had to go to Fedex to cancel. When I finally received my refund I only got 134$ back... apparently they charge you shipping and restocking fees when you return (make sure you read their "shipping policy" online, because this is customer services only response to these inquiries.)
Essentially I paid 50$ for the pleasure of this distasteful experience; needless to say, this has tainted my view of the "Betsey Johnson" brand and I won't be caught dead ordering with them again. I strongly urge Canadians and international buyers to read their shipping policy and calculate how much they will have to actually pay... otherwise you will end up paying a lot more than initially thought and you WILL NOT get a full refund from them.
Over the years I have been a loyal customer and have loved Betsey Johnson products. But the recent customer service I've experienced has led me to write this review and no longer purchase from this brand.
On their site the return policy is clear. You can't exchange or return clearance items or earrings for hygiene reasons. However, surprise they will refuse to refund you for sale items as well. Even though items listed in the clearance and sale sections are completely different. When I pointed this out they ignored me. I have sent them 2-3 emails now and the last one I included screenshots of the items I purchased that weren't on clearance. And still being ignored. I guess my issue isn't going to be addressed in the multiple emails I have sent so I'm going to give them a call, but with how bad this has been I expect them to just hang up on me.
If there is anything you think won't fit, steer clear of buying anything from them. You never know when they will randomly decide to go against their own policy and then good luck getting a response.

I just got a betsey Johnson makeup bag, and the zipper just randomly broke! Very upset. I will have to find another makeup bag, but will not be getting this brand again.
So I ordered a what I thought was very nice silver purse from Betsy Johnson website In January of 2020. I JUST wore it for the first time August 9th For a couple of hours to dinner, the purse is literally falling apart as you can see in the photos. I look up and the seams on the outside of the purse are unraveling, then I reach in the purse to grab lipgloss and the damn fabric peeled off! I am soooooooooooo disappointed! I've been wearing Betsy Johnson for 10-12 years and have NEVER experienced this. I have sunglasses by her from six years ago I'm perfectly good condition
smh... when I reached out to customer service they told me is was normal wear and tear, you can clearly see the color of the fabric inside the purse that I haven't been wearing it to even get wear and tear! I've never had a purse to fall apart like that, not even a 40 dollar one... now I understand the past 60 day clause, I took too long to wear the thing... but even if I wore it ten times, should it be falling apart? I don't understand where this is ok for a customer, I thought I was purchasing a quality product! Then they tell me how they're going to conduct an investigation, 24 hours later say it's normal wear and tear... what was the investigation? I would've gladly sent the purse in the be examined, I just feel the customer service is past poor and they really could care less! I purchased a backpack from Dillard's. I have to reach out to customer service because the threading inside of the backpack calls the zipper to go off track and break in the emblem came off. The 1st person I spoke to slow Florina via email told me that she was working on it. I reached out to her over a couple of weeks to no Avail nothing was given but excuses. After 5 Weeks with no resolution I responded back to a previous email only to get a return stating that next week someone will reach out to me. I responded back to that email stating that I was looping in the person that was included in the email and would look forward to a resolution the following week. Instead I received an email within minutes of sending this email from the person who was to respond very rude. None of what she discussed in the email was what for raina and I had discussed I had no idea that Angela would be in office next week looking through product to find me a backpack. It was not information that I needed to know when she mentioned that 25% of their staff have been laid off and they're having difficult time with cauvet 19. I've purchased over 15 items from this company I will never order a nother thing from them and if you are smart you will stay away from this company it is not always the product as the product does well most times but it is the customer service that you have to deal with that have no respect for those that spend their hard earned money on their product

Ordered a pre item at the beginning of March, March 4th to be exact. They said the pre item would be shipping by the 8th of March. Everytime I'd check on the order status it says it unfafilled. I waited over week and reached out to customer service. Sent several emails to never get a respond back by anyone. I then went on the website and did live chat. The first person I chatted with I'm pretty sure her name is Amy. She kept getting me mixed up with another customer even after I gave her the order number. She then couldn't give me an answer just said that they haven't heard anything from the manufacturer yet and couldn't give me any sort of a time frame. Waited a few more days to see if I'd get an email... Nothing! I then went on their website and the purse is no longer a presale item on there and they were actually selling it the purse on eBay but they couldn't give me an update on my order still. They kept saying we can cancel if you want us to. I finally got fed up and just told them to cancel it. How can a business be selling the purse that is supposedly a pre sale item on eBay and said it would be delivered in a week but someone who ordered the same exact thing can't give me an answer on shipping. This has to be the worst customer service ever and not to mention I've spent a lot of money on betsey Johnson meredisise.

Same issue as Janine. $300 order, $100 bill from FexEx AFTER delivery. I contacted Betsey Johnson. The person helping me did not give a flying rat's behind. They copied and pasted some FAQ about taxes and was like "sorry bye". I do not have this issue with any other U.S. retailer. I had this same situation with a different company years ago. I contacted them and they admitted to filling out their export papers incorrectly. They took care of the excessive "tax" bill. The Betsey Johnson representative didn't even want to look into it. So don't be scared ordering anything from the U.S. But be aware of the massive wallet gouge after ordering from Betsey Johnson.
Edit: I got my invoice from FedEx. Looks like there's $60-ish dollars in duties and import fees. So my suspicion was right, that it was not just taxes. I am contacting Betsey Johnson again to see if this is normal for them not to cover those. Other companies have those fees displayed BEFORE you pay or have a clear message that such fees could be charged to you after your purchase. There was no such thing on the Betsey Johnson website. Will update with how things go
Edit 2: I'm going to move the review up to a 2-star, just because the customer service is responsive. A representative got back to me and said it is within their shipping policy that we will get extra charges by Fedex. So these excessive fees are actually accepted as a part of their shipping policy. Which means the shipping policy is very unreasonable. For a $250+ order, to have to pay an extra $100+ just doesn't make sense for a customer. Also, there's no way of seeing just how high that charge is going to be after your order gets to you. So my two stars is going to be representing a very inconvenient international shipping policy and the customer being blind to how much they'll be charged until after the Fedex bill is received.

Canadians beware, you will be paying about $100-ish dollars charged by FedEx after you've received your order.

I bought a dark blue clutch with roses on it. It's very sturdy. Its well made and I have used it heavy. I love that's it is fun and colorful too.

Chose to use the chat feature on BJ website...alhough Stevie was polite, by the end of our chat I did NOT feel confident that my package, is actually enroute to meva week after I orderd it!
I feel Stevie danced around my questions. I told her FedEx informed me that they don't have my package yet. After a week only the shipping label was created. Stevie told me the package left their facility that's all she could tell me. I asked her to clarify that she says it's not with them, FedEx says they dont have it so it could be anywhere? Her response? LET ME KNOW IF THERES ANYTHING ELSE I CAN HELP YOU WITH? We can start by processing my refund.
I feel regretful that I made a purchase on the BJ site especially when I can't even track my package or at least have an estimate of when my package was shipped, when I may receive it or ensure I haven't been scammed. Stevie did not make me feel reassured at all! I was left with the feeling of she has no clue where my package is and then she sent an (ok bye) type of response.
My gut told me not to order from this site. If I had read these reviews sooner I wouldn't have!

Seems to be an ongoing issue with shipping and not the actual product. If you're in no hurry Maybe it's ok. But in the south we only get a few weeks of winter. I don't need my boots a month from now!
