Ive shopped Bluestone Perennials for years with no problem. They were my number one go to. About 4 yrs ago everything in my order was so over watered they had root rot. My order was replaced and again everything had root rot. I stopped ordering. I just placed a small order to see if there staffing situation had improved. Well just the opposite. They delivery man set my package on its side. All the loose dry soil spilled out. Inside was a small rooted plug in a 4" pot of loose soil. Your not getting what you paid for. I just returned from my local nursery where I purchased full overflowing pots for $4.95. I think this will be my method of purchasing plants. Garden Nut
Honestly overpriced average plants and the staff has been incredibly rude on multiple occasions. I found better plants and deals at HomeDepot. Shame you cannot support local businesses without being made to regret it.

I have shopped with Bluestone Perennials for the past 25 + years, and never been dissatisfied. Their plants come with sturdy root systems, and are packed to perfection. They will replace plants that died or did not survive. If you are a gardener, this is a company to keep close to you.
I am absolutely blown away by the plants I just received. I'm sure the postman will forever remember an old lady in her pajamas wondering where the other 7 boxes must be as I stared at one tiny box and a receipt for 8 plants costing $171.
I'm not sure I have enough years left to see these grow into the gorgeous pink cloud muhly plants I thought I was purchasing. It's a good thing you all are 740.3 miles from my front door or you would find these on your front porch Monday morning. As it is, it's not worth the time or money to stand masked in a socially distanced line at the post office to express them back... which I guess is what you count on.
Bluestone is the best garden company I, a serious plant addict, order from. Their plants are astoundingly healthy and beautiful. There's an amazing array of choices. And their company policies are INCREDIBLE. I had some plants that didn't thrive and they not only replaced them, they added on another plant, free! Who does that? If you only order from one company, make it Bluestone!
They have done all our home repairs for a long time and just pressure washed the front of our home. Louis their best worker is fast, affection, and very nice. The front of our home looks like a new home. Louis has installed fans, repaired light switches, fixed our toilet, and many more repairs on our home. He always comes quickly after our call. We highly recommend this company.

I love this company! They ship healthy plants in coconut containers that are biodegradable. They are shipped securely and Safely. After dealing with the criminals that sell garden plants on-line it was refreshing to find a company that delivered. Every plant that I have ordered is alive and thriving. They are my go to for garden plants.
Sent plants to zone 8 at the end of may. At that time it is to hot to plant. Received my fall plants with some
missing.the order was put in on Aug 18 they could of told me ahead of time that they were not comming
Instead I found out about it when the one plant arrived. Moving on from bluestone.
I have only ordered a few items. First items arrived in great shape. The second box had some Scotch moss and they looked like they had been tossed around--packaging could have been a bit better. Overall, though, I have been satisfied. Plants are growing--even the moss. They have a good guarantee policy even though I haven't had to test it yet.
I received my order of Tiarella and Campanula and it looks as if they were either frozen or overheated in shipping. The plant soil was still wet but the plants do not look healthy at all. In fact the Tiarellas look dead and the Campanula was not far behind. This order was for $110.17. I sent them 2 emails and have not heard a thing. Their website says they 100% guarantee their plants or the plants are replaced or your money is refunded. Has anyone had any luck getting a response from them?

Customer service is not responsive.

I ordered plants. None survived.
I just got my orders:
Roots are long and plants are healthy. No damages due to shipping. Plants were well secured.
I have contacted their customer service once before and they are very co corgile.
Price might a bit high, but I would pay a bit more for healthy plants.
I have ordered plants from Bluestone Perennials for over 10 years and never had any problems until they jumped on the "going green" bandwagon and switched from plastic pots to a new pot made out of coconut fiber called a coir pot. These pots are supposed to biodegradable so that you can plant pot and all. These pots don't rot and wind up choking the plants out. I have had to dig up everything I planted that came from them and cut the pots off in order to save the plant. Their plants are still great but they need to stop telling customers to plant the pot. It's not just me that has complained about the Coir Pots; Do a quick search online and you will find the same complaint from other gardeners. What brought this whole thing up again was it finally warmed up enough here yesterday to do a little early garden work and one of the things I did was turn over the cold compost pile and all 17 pots looked exactly the way they did when I put them in there last summer. The point to my post is to warn other gardeners... if you order from Bluestone remove the plants from the pots no matter what the company tells you.
Tip for consumers:
Remove the so called biodegradable coir pots before plating.
If you read their site or magazine, you are informed that the plants will be in 3.5" by 4" plantable choir pots. I have ordered numerous times from them and received healthy plants. I only had a problem with one plant which I was sent two for free the following Spring. I commented about a particular plant that I purchased and mentioned that mine were not performing as expected and I actually lost one. I made this comment, hoping to get advice on what I can do to increase size and blooms. Bluestone responded to me and said they would send me a replacement in the spring. They were over a year past their warranty and sent me three replacement plants. My experience with them has been great. Most plants received by mail do not arrive in the same manor and size as if you go to your local chain store and purchase plants. I use online companies for varieties that you can't find at local brick and mortar companies. I get plants from two online companies via mail and a couple of local brick and mortar stores that carry typical plants. Yes, the plants are bigger but not always healthier. Most of the time, once I get them home, I spend time cutting the dead, broken, and rotted parts and dead heading the plant.
Tip for consumers:
Read the size of the plants they ship and their return/refund policy.

I have ordered from them for 3-4 years and always receive well cared for plants that always grow robustly every year. Great customer care. Couldn't ask for more!

This is the most unethical company on the internet. Although they scammed me for only $69.76, I am determined to exhaust all of my options to expose their fraudulent practices. They truly insult customer's intelligence with their false advertisements. What you see on their site is not what they will send you.
On April 19th, I went to their site and order 2 Lupine Woodfield Hybrids and Lupine Mini Gallery Red. It shows the picture of the plants and colorful flowers. At the end of the order, I never receive the status of my order. I then sent them two emails which they never replied to. On April 29th, I received a generic email that shipping time is "The Week Of May 3rd, 2021". Please keep in mind that this company is in Ohio, and I live in Georgia.
On May 11th, I received tiny dead plants, no flowers as shown on their site, the soil was parched ( they were not in a soil pot), and most of the plants had gray dead-looking stems.
With the two attempts to reach them before, I feel they are aware of their fraudulent practice, so not answering calls or emails. While the review link on their site is loaded with fake positive reviews, other external sites say otherwise. There are countless decent businesses available to the consumer. When it comes to Bluestone Perennials, buyer beware!
Tip for consumers:
Most of the pictures that you see on their site are not the true product you will receive.
