Hotels and B and B's deliberately over rated probably for bigger share of commission. It is actually far far cheaper using a household name like travel lodge as there standards are extremely high because of the obvious reason of reputation. Used booking dot com. They are just a money making machine. Not interested in your holiday or if u had a pleasant stay or not. Also a site that tells lies. I have the proof. I can't say enough great things about this app. Clear and concise information, great customer service, and very understanding of unique circumstances. In my opinion, everybody should be using booking.com to book their hotel reservations.

1. Room that costs below 900 ILS (in direct reservation form hotel) costed me 1423 NIS via booking.com.
2. Their customer service does not allow to complain about any issue, just view the order details or contact the hotel.
Do not use booking.com under any circumstances, they took money from my card without my permission and have had me running in circles trying to get a refund, ive had the phone put down on me twice, been constantly asked for proof of bank statements, which I continue to send amongst other details, how these companies are allowed to continue whilst appearing to be fraudulent is amazing

After MANY phones calls and email back and forth with booking.com agents, they continue to come up with excuses as to why they will not do a price adjustment to honor their price match guarantee. I have sent numerous screen shots proving much lower prices (best was over $100 a night less with identical rooms available) on other sites (no discounts applied), including the actual hotel's site. Their latest excuse for refusing is that I selected a city view when I booked through them. I called the Manhattan hotel to confirm current pricing, and there is absolutely no difference in price. It just tells the hotel to place you on a higher floor. Getting through to booking.com customer service is a challenge in itself, but half a dozen times this morning is ridiculous. I am now waiting for a manager to call me back. So far, they are 15 minutes later than promised. Never again will I consider this site.

Booked an apartment hotel for a night in Brussels. All of sudden there was an addition 50 euros "Cleaning Fee" taken by the company. I've put in formal complaints and said these hidden fees go against EU regulations, but the only reply I get form Booking.com is a simple copy paste email, saying this fee is mentioned in my booking confirmation email. I've told them many times that it's too late to inform the consumer until AFTER they've paid, but it's like talking to 5 year old children. It won't go into their brains. Seriously, stay clear of these scammer!
If they screw up and dont send you a confirmation number (which they do purposefully) it is IMPOSSIBLE to cancel a reservation. 57 emails...nothing. Cant call. Nothing. Never EVER use these people. The properties hate them as well...RUN!
We used booking.com to book a room at studio 7 barker heights. I paid for the room immediately on booking.com web sight we arrived at the hotel to be told that no rooms were clean so we could not stay at the hotel. It has been over 2 weeks and I still don't have a refund

I have been travelling for decades, without a single problem. I booked several rooms through book.com for the first time and have had nothing but trouble. Payment policies are outdated and difficult to control/keep track of. Credit card information got mixed up. Email communication was horrific. I will NEVER use this site again.
I booked a flight with them. Never received a confirmation.and there's no reservation on the website. Money got charged on my credit card. Cannot reach these people through phone, just emails back and forth. Basically stole 4 thousand dollars from me
After long search, booked a place that seems to be Ok. Few weeks later, was told that due overbooking, will loose it! New Option offered from them are joke, so I have to use other options. Not from booking.com of course! Stay away, No guarantees from them, even if they say so. See the attachment picture below:

First few times I used them I thought they were fantastic. Straight forward OK cheap accommodation. Then latest dealings terrible. If you need to change, cancel enquire or check something its impossible.
Ended up in terrible accommodation, cancelled just inside the cancellation period still been charged and no refund.
Not worth the effort. Saved about £20 on my successful stays. Lost about £90 in clerical errors and no 'customer service' to deal with problems.

Don't use if the slightest possibility you may have to change or cancel your booking. They will get some money from you somehow.
The Booking.com extranet (back end listing management system) is a complete joke. It is seriously lacking, outdated, antiquated, slow, ridiculous, difficult to learn, completely user-unfriendly... and their customer service is not really able to help around it no matter how hard they try. Some even openly admit and confirm this fact. The system will allow you to produce MULTIPLE copies of the same property. I dare you to request removal of same - Alice's spiral down the tree would be an easier and definitely more productive obstacle course. Just a complete joke. Bureaucratic joke. It seems to have been designed with endless time wasting in mind. Stay away, you're better off with AirBnb, VRBO, heck, even your well-meaning cousins and friends! Not worth the effort or the trouble.

They showed photo's of normal hotel rooms. Lobby looked ok. The room they gave us was Filthy. Mold in shower, Punch holes in the door both sides headboard had hand and foot prints and dried Semen running down it. Torn curtains. Filthy sheets. Stained walls. Smashed bureau with drawer missing and telephone was broken. Toilet looked like the $#*! pipe was leaking. Spider webs in room corners. Booking. Com refused to give our money back and so did the hotel.we were there only 3 hours and had booked a week.We were charged more than full price. Pakistani scum... A Dirty Brothel is all it is...
Bad customer support for hosts. No phone calls from them, only irrelevant emails 48-64 hours after being sent. Staff is incompetent. All they know is how to charge a commission each month. I'm absolutely disappointed.

After having a nightmare 5 day experience in a derilict hotel supported by booking.com and being treated like dirt, I finally found alternate accommodation. Booking.com will promote accomodation providers who have mould, broken windows, dirty sheets, no lights, no electricity, toxic dust, no hot water, being locked out upon entry, you name it. You can be a dog kennel or drug lab and advertise on booking.com. They have no standards. Look at the reviews and avoid. Book direct and do your research.
Pool out of service not told in advance, room was dirty walls, floors. Was ripped off and booking and the rental were made aware of it! They still are advertising there property with a beautiful private pool and yet I have evidence that the property was made aware 9/19 to all residents that it would be drained and plastered out of service until mid November! Walls were dirty and floor had bleach stains on carpet all over! It was a rip off! I told booking that the company should not still be allowed to advertise on their page a they are aware of all this! Nothing but we are sorry an there's nothing they can do! I will not book with this company again and will advise otherwise for others! This is not good business at all! Go on vacation take 2 swim suits only to never need them at all without that information being told in advance is a rip off! Also avoid renting with Modern Apartment Rentals in DTLA! They are frauds!
Do not use this service for any reason. We booked a car through them, only to be informed upon arrival at the airport that there were no cars available - but if we waited around for about 3 hours, they *might* have one. The rental company informed us, along with 100+ others in line, that if we chose to cancel, we'd be issued a full refund. Let the games begin… After being "disconnected" and hung up on by extremely rude and unhelpful agents from both the rental agency and Booking.com, we eventually got them to actually cancel the reservation, but they refused to reimburse! A month later, we're still fighting this charge through the credit card company.
These people are crooks. If you are paid for a service, but then fail to perform the service, yet charge the customer anyway, that's fraud.

Booked two rooms recently using this site. Not bad at all. Fast service and good orientation with the map so you can see where is your hotel(speaking about the mobile version). However, didn't get why the first booking they took my money right away and the second one I had to pay at the hotel.
Otherwise I don't have any negative experience so far.
Booked 2 rooms for Christmas with free cancellation option. Had to cancel 3 days after booking due to the health reasons... on 26/12 hotel taken money from my debit card in full amount for the stay... I have contacted the hotel directly and they told me booking.com never cancelled the reservation and that's why hotel taken my money. Contacted customer service several times and if I am lucky enough and get answer, it is always the same "we are trying to find resolution but till now we could not"
This is now going on for more than 4 weeks... I have provided them with bank account statement as they asked, but still no resolution.
I have decided to report the case to Fair Trade as well as make a court claim, as I do not see booking.com willing to solve the issue.
Please be beware of their services... you may lose lot of money with them.
Free cancellation does not mean free cancellation! They take money out of your account without permission! Their customer service team reads off a script and are rude, incompetent and unhelpful. There is no complaints procedure! Big fat con! Watchdog needs to investigate this ridiculous website - people are getting ripped off!
