Double booked our accommodation and only informed us after we had purchased a £200 non-refundable ferry ticket! No compensation offered apart from v sub-standard alternative accommodation that didn't allow dogs (no good to us). Disgusting way to treat people. Trip had to be cancelled entirely with £200 down.

Do NOT use Booking.com! Also beware when going to hotel websites of auto-transfers to booking.com, etc. Reserve direct at hotel site only! They wanted us to go to Walgreens and purchase prepaid Booking.com giftcard in order to cancel reservations for which they already had our credit card info! Rude, disgusting language was totally UNACCCEPTABLE AND UNPROFESSIONAL!!
Absolute trash. If things go smooth for you, then good for you. But when incidents happen, they will not protect you. We booked an accommodation named Hotel De Bern in Nice. The hotel is basically a money trap. They will set you up with broken facilities to scam the deposit. But whatever you do, they will not return the deposit anyway, and Booking.com protects them. Booking.com even removed the chat history between the hotel and I to cover it up.
Recently, I asked one of my friend who works in the hospitality segment. She confirmed that Booking.com will never cover the money lost or take any action to protect customers. They will tell their support agents to keep customers on hold, fail promise and lie until their customers give up.
Never ever use booking.com for your own sake. I will spread this information to every review platform until the last day of Booking.com

Booking.com says free cancellations. I made an advance reservation 1 month ahead. The next day I had to cancel. I contacted the Hotel all was well. Contacted Booking with little response. After 2 weeks I contacted Booking again little response. After the the original date I received tax refund of $12.03. Booking said since I was a "No Show" I forfeited $90.00! How can one be a no show after a cancellation.
They are not a reputable company. Deal directly with your hotel/motel by phone. This site is a RIP OFF!

Hotel we stayed at was dirty.
Cancelled the reservation that night through booking.com and listed that reason. The hotel had no vacancy.
Called to follow up on a refund and booking.com is useless.
The hotel said we said there two nights ( we have proof we did not) and since they use central European time we officially cancelled the next day.
TERRIBLE customer service. She DID not listen to the situation and instead kept saying " the procedure is" and would not let me talk to a supervisor who may be able to remedy the unique circumstances.

Horrible and frustrating experience. I don't see the point of booking through them. They cannot cancel or change your reservation….you have to go directly to the flight, hotel, etc. Customer service is difficult to reach and unhelpful. Booking through this site is pointless.

My wife book a hotel room and Maple Grove mn. I paid Booking. Com but was required to pay another 100.00 deposit before I could get my room. They also advertise pet friendly and they are not. I will never recommend using a company that lies on their website and does not keep up with hotel policies.

Bought an admittedly "non-refundable" 7 days at a resort hotel. Upon arrival, hotel looked nothing like the posted photos. Hotel manager acknowledged the misleading photos, said it was a perennial problem, and offered a refund. After we had left, booking.com communicated with the hotel and they declined refund (over $900!).
After several attempts to chat with booking.com customer service via their chat service, it became obvious they were just automated bots giving canned, unresponsive answers. Ultimately, they said there was nothing they could do and I was left to make an appeal to my credit card company.
Booking.com is generally a useful service when things go right. But when there is any problem, there's no one to talk to, and they'll evidently do nothing to correct fraudulent or misleading behavior from their stable of hotels.
Tip for consumers:
If any doubt about the quality of a booking, don't go for the "no refund" option. Even if place is misrepresented and a total dump, and even if the place agrees to a refund, you'll be charged, and sometimes multiple times.

This company doesn't care about customers satisfaction and complaint. The customer service team sits on the other side of the world - Philippines, they were taught to say "sorry" like parrots but no action to make customer experience better! They also put you through with the property to solve your issue on your own. They don't help with resolution or return your call to resolve your complaint. Stay away from this European organization.

Booking.com should be closed down. I booked an apartment for 11 days, the pictures of the apartment were gorgeous. I thought I was getting a great deal saving a few dollars. However, a few days later the picture changed to a less appealing place with a view of the parking lot, instead of the beautiful city. I contacted the property manager and was told to contact Booking.com to resolve the issue. I sent messages requesting a refund for breach of contract cause they didn't deliver what they promised with no response on their part. My last resort was to contact my credit card fraud department to challenge the charge. Booking.com thinks because the booking is nonrefundable you are stuck with receiving a below-your-standard place and not the one shown in the pictures. These people are scammers and not even close to the professionalism AIRBNB contributes. They should be out of business.

Bookings.com lost my reservation less than a week before the bachelor party I am throwing for the Groom to be. They offered no compensation to me even though the new rate was much higher than the price I previously paid for. I spoke to customer service for over an hour with no resolutions. I was very courteous, all I wanted was the rooms I paid in full for. Their "relocation" process is sketchy and do not trust the hotels they try to put you in. This website should be flagged for fraud and not trusted for important events. I did not know this going in.
Booked a preset tent through booking.com, 5 days props to the trip. The same day I found the actual site for the preset tents, which were almost $20 less per night for the same exact accommodation. I immediately reached out to booking.com who delayed response, until after my trip was over. Went back and forth with them for the entire trip, provided all information only for them to delay until my trip was over then claim that as the reason they would not honor their own policy.

The hotel was awful and the taxi booked through them didn't even arrive and left us almost missing our return flight but Booking.com following this is the reason for the review as dealing with their Indian customer service call centre following all the problems we has was worse than the problems. Avoid this company like the plague!
I have 3 times experience of non payment of my cancelled tickets. No one response and their customer care is in a different country. They have auto replays and real cheaters. Please do not book tickets here and invite troubles.
I had a booking with them made by my wife and the site didn't load and we didn't get any confirmation email. Then I tried to book from my side using the app and then it went well. I complained to CS team in case they will deduct double amount and they confirmed all good. After a while the amount was deducted twice and i am for almost a month behind their CS team without any output. I had given all proofs that this is double booking due the web error and they keep coming back that for security reason they cannot disclose information. What a joke. I asked them to proof their right and definitely nothing. If they are right, let them show up.
Rented a 3 bedroom suite in Hollywood Florida for sisters reunion. We were confirmed 3 king bed. Got there and had 1 king bed and 2 twin bed. Call booking.com and was hung up on three time when I explained the situation…. False advertising on there site and zero customer service. No help and refused to attempt to solve.
In years past, free cancellation was seamless, but in my recent two cases, the neither the website or app worked. Customer Care number tried to refer me to the hotel who then referred me back to Booking.com. Booking then verbally assured cancellation, but did not follow through - I was stuck with a $99 bill for a room I didn't use. Neither the hotel chain nor Booking.com will make good, though they verbally acknowledge not my fault. I suggest shopping through this site but booking directly with hotels.
I put the wrong date in a hotel booking and called booking.com within 2 minutes of entering the reservation. They insisted that the cancellation fee would be payable if I cancelled. Even after the property agreed to waive the cancellation fee (3 full nights charge), booking.com refused to cancel without the full cancellation fee. It took 2 days of phone calls, messages, texts before they finally agreed. It's hard to imagine a business that is so greedy, so downright nasty, they would insist on collecting a $550 cancellation fee for a mistake that I tried to correct within 2 minutes! I will certainly never deal with them again.
This is a site that doesn't help you with your issue when you book a room. It's worth less to ask for there help. I got a room through them that had many issues and the call themselves helping by issuing a $18 refund on had hotel that has had many,many other issues with other customers like me and refuse to extend an extra hand. The worst place to grab a room.
I had gone directly to the Hilton website to book a stay. The room I chose was refundable until 24 hours of check in and I saw the price before submitting my payment information. During the final part of the transaction, it was hijacked by booking.com, unbeknownst to me. When the transaction was completed, it was almost twice the amount it was on Hilton's website and no longer refundable. I was furious and immediately contacted my bank, Hilton and these booking.com con artists. It took a long time, but eventually I got it refunded. I hate booking.com and Cheap O Air.
We have used booking.com for several years, but I can no longer recommend them. We were quoted a room with a genius discount. The web site gave us the full price for the room and we accepted it. The price we were billed, however, did not include the discount. We contacted customer service - and after being transferred to 3 or 4 representatives - over the course of several hours - we were told that they were under no obligation to honor the quoted price. They also refused to give us an email to contact any company official. It feels like a bait and switch.

Luca was an amazing host! I would definitely recommend anyone to stay there. The house was absolutely perfect. 2 bedrooms, 2 bath, a kitchen and best price out there. We even washed our clothes in the washer and dryer!
There is a market and delicious restaurants in just a short walking distant. And right out back of the house are stairs leading all the way down to town where you can spend as long as you want in town shopping, eating, sipping wine or even boat ride right over to Capri if you want. Beautiful views from the porch out back with a lovely swing, couch, table and chairs shaded to drink your coffee in the morning. Quiet, beautiful gardens, vegetables growing right in yard. And any questions that arose, Luca responded within moments. He and his father carried our luggage, set up rides for us, showed us bus schedule. It was perfect. Thanks Luca!
Reservations where made at Hotel Coco Bamboo in
Medellin, Colombia. Booking.com was used for the reservations. Once we got to the hotel & up to our rooms reality set in! No air conditioning, the rooms were tiny and dirty. I stepped in the bathroom and honestly that was it! The bathroom was full of black mold. Not at all good for my asthma! My kids room was a sardine can & no window. We had to get out immediately. No offer to get us other rooms.
I made probably 8 to 10 calls and all but one service agent hung up. I have made it my business to inform everyone that I can about the quality of company booking.com is. Never again, worst company that we've dealt with. Do yourself a favor and steer clear!

We have used Booking.com for hotels for over 5 years all over the world. Last year I would've given them a 5 star review, but I never had to deal with their customer service. I booked my first flight with Booking.com this year, and when the airlines changed the flight, Booking never informed us. We are losing money on non-refundable hotels (also booked through Booking) & busses, and Booking.com will not do anything to make up for their mistake. They're customer service is useless and not accommodating.
