Books were all in great condition when I received them and the shipping, although slower than amazon,(who can compete) was relatively quick! Will definitely be ordering again!

Everything, from the book's (Tale of Two Cities by Charles $#*!ens) physical appearance, cover, print is top notch. That includes its even earlier than promised delivery. Perfect.

Not sure why the books were discounted so steeply as they appear to be free of any flaws. Delivery took a little longer than anticipated but was still reasonably timely.

My only complaint of this site, which is common with most discount sites, is that the inventory doesn't always have what you are looking for. However I still find that there is overall a good selection and I have bought books when I've gone there. Shipping is FAST and inexpensive. Sometimes I've looked for other books to get to the point that I have free shipping but the shipping is so little that's not always necessary. One time I wanted 4 copies of the same book. I wanted a copy in Nova Scotia and wanted to give a copy to three friends n Vancouver, Calgary and New York. I was about to order all 4 to come to me when I realized it was far cheaper to make 4 orders and for $5 ship the book to each of my friends, including across the border into the USA. For $20 I had 4 books shipping when I likely would not have been able to mail one book on my own for that price. I will go back and look but realize not everything there will be something for me to buy. IMMEDIATE UPDATE. This review process is far too complicated. I should just be able to comment as I can on Ebay or Amazon. Making me find my order number and prove purchase means this is likely the last review I will do.

Great selection! Search is simple and so is checkout! I tried to give five stars on each, but the site glitched and wouldn't let me add the fifth star.

I've ordered before and the books were in great condition.

In this order 4/6 books arrived dirty (like they'd been in an Indigo, been part of the Indigo "cart drop" rigamarole we used to have to do there as an operations team, and had spent some time on a salty/dirty store floor) and/or damaged. I assume some of the Book Outlet stock comes from physical retailers returns, so they have been in backrooms, on store floors, touched by the general public who can be not-too-kind to product (hence low prices)?

But I've bought explicitly labelled "used" books in better condition than a few of these books. I know these are discounted books for a reason, but no where online is it implied that these books will not be in "new" condition.

And these are fine for a personal use/adding into my collection; they are obviously still readable. But I wouldn't gift any of these because of how banged up they are. If you were shopping here for a reader, trying to stretch a gift budget as far as possible, I think you'd be upset if you'd opened my particular box and found dirty/banged up books. Just something to keep in mind.

The prices are amazing, the shipping timeline was accurate. One of my books was "top box" and had the slice from the box cutter but all the rest were in perfect condition.

I have sofar made 2 purchases from the Book Outlet. In bith cases the item was exactly as described, the prices were great and the delivery was speedy. I highly recommend.

Two out of the three books I ordered came in near-perfect condition. I have no complaints there and was quite satisfied with the selection and the price! One book came to me a bit scrappy-looking, mushed at the top and bottom of the spine with a crushed-in dust-jacket. Perfectly readable, but if I found it in the store looking this way, I wouldn't have purchased. I went to the help centre, as directed, to see what to do about damaged books and it read: "Should you receive a book that is damaged beyond repair or structurally compromised for any reason, resulting in the book being unreadable..." and it went on to give next steps.

I am a librarian and am quite fastidious when it comes to the quality of my books (inside and out!). If it's not in perfect shape when it arrives in the mail, I will usually swap it back at the book store where I bought it for a cleaner copy. I was a tad taken aback when it comes to what constitutes a damaged book from this particualr seller. Beyond repair? Structurally compromised?!? It makes it sound to be like banged-up books are fairly common and to be expected at these incredible prices, and I can understand that. And to reiterate, two of the three did come in near perfect shape and I am tremendously happy with them! They were very new books, at that, and including the one I got for free, they were less than half the cover price.

I was suprised how quickly I received my book. I save a ton on the price of a hardcover book and I couldn't see any major problems with the book. Very happy and will use you again

Came upon Book Outlet webpage by chance and happy I did. Service, price, delivery and book quality all excellent. I will always check out Book Outlet first whenever I want to acquire a book.

I am so glad I stumbled across this site. This is the 2nd time I have ordered books and recieved them before the expected date. The books are all in brand new condition. Thank you Book Outlet :)

I was searching for a book and found it on Book Outlet. Price was decent and ordering was straightforward. Book arrived when they said it would, whay more can you ask for?

UPDATE: I called Book Outlet and the person I spoke to was far more communicative and helpful. They are working on replacement for the parcel that I didn't receive and also allowed me, given the circumstances, to send it to another address, which I'm hoping the courier service, Metroland, will be more thorough and careful with. I will update this to five stars if the parcel is actually sent with the new address details.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: I have no idea where my package actually got sent and instead of dealing with this issue themselves, I was told I have to waste more of my time contacting the courier service, Metroland, myself and ask them yet again (I already contacted them once) to actually respond to me. This whole situation is a mess and I have no intentions of dealing with Book Outlet or Metroland again after this. I had no idea this wasn't going to be sent by Canada Post when I placed the order and had to pay $5 for shipping yet you would think there would have have been insurance to cover the cost of the parcel in that payment. Both companies are just ignoring the situation. I strongly caution anyone to reconsider dealing with either company. You can't even tell by the Proof of Delivery image Metroland took which unit this in this building they left the parcel at and I paid $5 for shipping. If this was with Canada Post, I'd at least have a route to recover the cost and no one would be leaving my parcel all over the place without me knowing where. Canada Post also would have attempted inserting my parcel in my mail slot rather than just leave it out in a random hallway.

I made the mistake of filling my cart before I logged in. When I logged in, my cart was emptied and I couldn't find out what I'd put in it by going back.

I was a bit sceptical at first but i got my books in less than a week and i cannot be happier! They're not even old books, i weirdly expected old books. I LOVE THEM!

When ordering, I would appreciate the option of free pickup in St. Catharines rather than paying for shipping. Otherwise, I'm a very satisfied customer.
