I bought a textbook for a class I dropped, so I immediately asked to return the book. Calling only took me to voicemail which said to email them. I emailed them and the automated reply said I would hear back within 2 business days. WEEKS later, I still didn't receive a response. When I finally did hear back, they said they would only give me 30% of a refund AND I had to pay the return shipping. So much wasted money over a book I never even opened.
Update: They gave me a full refund because of my negative experience despite saying they never give full refunds. I still had to pay out of pocket to return a book I didn't need, but I have less of a sour taste in my mouth.

The book shipped quickly, but it came with two large stickers on the back cover. The stickers were clearly added there by Bookrun. The book was otherwise in good condition, but the two large stickers on the back are advisements for Bookrun and won't come off cleanly, reducing the quality/condition of the book.

No problems, got books OK, wished they had free shipping, bought two books and paid $3.99 shipping for each. Both books came as one shipment, mailed as USPS Media Mail, 3 lbs package. Cost for 3 lbs package mailed as USPS Media Mail, is calculated on USPS Website for $3.61. This is why I gave a 3 star rating.

Free shipping offered by some companies usually simply means that the costs are included in the final price. I don't usually sell my books, but I sold my senior's mostly unused history textbook to Booksrun, since they quoted $48 (new $150) for Used-Very Good (on June 10). My daughter had written her name in small writing in the inside cover (I whited it out) and had highlighted a few sentences on ONLY 2-3 pages of a several hundred paged book. After reading their conditions, I thought Very Good reflected the condition of my book.
I received an email that they downgraded it to "acceptable" on June 23 and only paid me $38 ($10 off). I emailed customer service to ask for proof of why they downgraded and didn't hear back so I emailed back on July 10. I got a very nice response on July 13 saying they carefully inspected and that was their decision. They asked if I had photos. Unfortunately I didn't take photos and responded back that I'd like to see why they downgraded it, since it didn't make sense. I heard back on July 25 with another very nice email that they already sold the book, so they can't give me details and offered me a 7% credit on my next sale (nice thought, but then I'd have to do future business with them). (Where are their photos of the book?) Maybe they consider even one highlight in the book as "acceptable."
Just make sure you if you use Booksrun, that you save proof of your book's condition and you ask them any questions you have on the condition you choose. It also could take a while to hear back from customer service if they are swamped.

Seller prices are great but at times BR downgraded the price of some books when the books were in excellent shape. Other companies don't do that so I use them more often.

I got paid the amount I was expecting and in a timely manner. I never know what books are going to be downgraded and I end up getting paid less than expected.

The pages came held together by strings. It wasn't actually a book, but it was a bunch of paper carelessly held together. It made my studying harder as I tried to not harm the pages.
