Both 'The Symbolism of Evil' (Boston: Beacon Press, 1967) and 'Hermeneutics and the Human Sciences' (New York: Cambridge Univ. Pr.; 1981) by Paul Ricoeur arrived in fairly good condition. I ordered these two titles to align with my copy of Ricoeur's 'Fallible Man' (Chicago: Gateway Editions, 1965). All of these paperback books are 'perfect' bound, but the Cambridge, 1981 'Hermeneutics' broke into two sections when opened. I've glued it back together but it must be handled carefully. This is not the bookseller's problem, but I mention it because so many publishers since the 1960s, it seems to me, shifted from 'signatures' to 'perfect' glued bindings of their 'mass market' products. Just one more issue to consider when purchasing a paperback.

Book corner was bent. I assume that it was done by packager but unsure if it was Abe Books or someone else.
I do know poll had my name was mis-spelled.
Putting captcha on email is insulting for it is difficult for those with poor vision which is reason why I buying book not looking at electronic version.

The time to ship my books was good; when they arrived, the packaging had opened halfway along the perforation, and I had only received one of my two books; obviously, the other (smaller) book came out of the packaging. I emailed right away explaining this to the email address given.
-The reply I received was basically, "It was shipped. It shows as delivered. Check with UPS."
Even though I was VERY DETAILED, the email was not read carefully, and the problem was not addressed.
It took a blunt email to get the communication needed to rectify the problem, which was settled with a refund.
I may use them again (since they finally communicated and worked with me), but I am not sure yet.

They did issue a refund to me for that book.

Generally the process was smooth. Had a hiccup with the QR code for the US post office. The QR code is only good for the day in which you got the QR code with BooksRun. The post office wouldn't accept a previously date code, even though BooksRun said it would be valid for x amount of days. There was a whole back and forth with BooksRun on the QR Code and we had to end up cancelling the order and create a new code. The risk with this is that if at this time the value of your books are lower than when you initially created the order, you will get the lower rate which sucks. Hope BooksRun can work better with USPS to understand how these QR Codes work.

My experience with Books Run was overall very positive they paid the amount they said they would pay. However, out of the approximately 600 books I have, they only took about 75. All of the books are in like new condition, but they were just not accepted. Also, it's easy to get locked out of the website if you try to enter too many books in one sitting and it is somewhat time consuming and rather disappointing that they didn't take more books.

They are okay - nothing horribly wrong, but I do very strongly disagree with their reduction in offer on a book sold to them, because it was rendered "poor condition" when it absolutely WAS NOT in poor condition. Furthermore, it was wrapped very carefully inside a waterproof envelope and set inside an appropriate-sized box to ensure safe shipping. I'm not inclined to use them again because of this most recent interaction. But moving forward, I will make a point in the future with any other book trade/sell service to take pictures of textbooks before shipping.

The process is pretty easy. The whole thing takes about 3 weeks. Usually they requote me a bit less than the original quote. Only once I definitely did not agree at all with what they decided they would pay me for a brand new book. You can refute and have them send you the book back, but idk if you have to pay for the return shipping or not. I'd say they are on par with all the other buy back companies, nothing special.

I paid for priority shipping. My order was shipped via regular shipping. It took longer than expected as a result and arrived after the school term began. I tried contacting the seller through AbeBooks, and they never responded. I eventually contacted them through the BooksRun website. It took probably 6 weeks (I've deleted the emails) to get them to refund the cost of the priority shipping. It was usually a week or more between responses.
3 stars because the product itself was fine, I did eventually get refunded the priority shipping cost, and the order technically arrived within the expected delivery window. The delivery window was quite long, however, and when they've truly shipped via priority shipping in the past, orders have arrived much faster.

I bought a book from this company and also had to return 1. It would be nice if you could create a wallet within the in the website to return books and use that money towards a new book. I really wanted to love this company because of the cheaper prices I've found on their books. Their customer service is majorly lacking - taking a long time to respond, despite stating on their website it would be x amount of time. I ordered the incorrect book, and they wouldn't let me send it back - Didn't want a refund, just wanted to go ahead and get that out of the way and send back. Slightly silly if you ask me. The hardest part with this company is the shipping times. I would only order from BooksRun if you had at minimum a week to wait on the book.

It's alright for a low price. However I didn't read carefully where it said it was only a workbook, so I thought it was the textbook... But if I'm rating the workbook, then I'd say it's ok. It has a lot of writing on it, but the questions are readable.

I received my book via regular mail. It would be nice if it came faster. The book back cover was folded over and the pages had writing in them. It would be nice if they had the books that had no writing.
