Even though sizes aren't "True To Size" in many cases, it's worth it to shop there. Quality can be satisfying or disappointing, I've experienced both. But if you don't like what you received, you can always return it, and it doesn't take long either. Best time to shop on Boston Proper is on New Year's, that's when they have huge sales!

Unhappy

Use caution when purchasing from Boston Prober there customers service people are very scripted.
I tried to explain that we are in unprecedented times and I have been email customer service sense 6/1/2020 and calling with not connection
That is why my return is beyond the 30 window.
She didn't get it she just kept repeating her self I ask to speak to a supervisor she wouldn't let me talk to one. Now I am expected to pay the shipping and handling no sense of ownership.
No compassion, no understanding.
Very unhappy customers

The Absolute WORST!
October 20, 2018

Horrible customer service. Lost order. No return calls. Supervisor no help. Still has my money and on ignore. Called PayPal they said can't help. BP has my money!
At this point, I am going crazy. Waiting for a return call.
The same person says I'll escalate. WHATEVER THAT MEANS?
NOTHING! I will never order from here agsin and I agree the quality sucks. I'm cancelling my catalogue too. Quality went way down! They should be ashamed!

Ordered a dress from here that was originally $80, on sale half off, so with shipping came to like $53. It came in good timing, but for the price the quality looks very cheap, and the material is super thin.

I could get something that looks the same for so much cheaper. Since it was on sale it was a final sale, so I cannot return it, so that was a waste of $53 which is annoying because I could get 2 or 3 dresses of better quality for that price elsewhere.

I will not order from them again and would not suggest ordering from them.

I have been buying from them for years and now with this new ownership everything that ends in. 98 is final sale when Chicos owned the company nothing was final sale. It's really a shame and they are going to loose a lot of business because of this.

Sorry to disappoint Therese. Our website clearly states that sale merchandise is final sale. Our "new ownership" has nothing to do with our decision to implement this policy.

I originally ordered a pair of boots that appeared to be in stock. After months was told they were out of stock. Gift certificate sent with a full refund
I ordered a holiday cardigan and just called and no order status to date after my order had been placed for over a week. Just told I would not have it for Christmas. Also,ordered a bathing suit prior to covid and it took weeks to arrive. We are paying premium prices for much of their apparel but we are getting sub par delivery. I am writing this review because this is a consistent issue with them. I will not be ordering anything more from.them.because of poor practices of delivery. One more thing to add. They make little to no effort to try to even offer any compensation for this inferior support. My rating is a flat out Zero

We had a gift from a family member and was traveling over holidays. Came back and need a size larger but they are saying they can NOT do anything bc of their 30 day return policy. How are you to know during the holidays and a gift when something was purchased or bought? Awful policy!

Final sales

We order a sale item were told by the sales rep we can exchange it when we tried to return it they wouldn't take back very bad service customer service and manager has no respect very rude nasty people never deal with a co like this I hope they closed soon
Also very expensive and quality is poor

Bad business

Ordered the sweater dress and then I saw it went on sale. I called them and they refused to do the adjustment even though I just ordered it and they were still working on processing it. Terrible business ethics! What happened to pleasing the customers. If I could have given them a zero rating I would!

In my opinion you cannot say " cannot be returned" for an item that is bought online. Because you buy it without seeing the fabric and the quality of work, you don't put it on either. May look good in the picture but it is like " got you " type of attitude when you see what you bought and want to return it.
I will never buy anything from this company again.

Inconsistent.

I want to like Boston Proper so much. Their clothes look so appealing in their catalogs that every-so-often I'll forget that 4 out of 5 times that I shop with them I'm disappointed. Their sizing and quality is really inconsistent - a bit of a crap shoot really. The one thing that is consistent is that it takes a long time to get anything you order not competitive on that front at all with Ann Taylor, Express, or the department stores.

I ordered several items on Dec. 7 and the ship date keeps moving back. Boston Proper service supervisor Helene was absolutley NO HELP AT ALL! Horrible service. My items are not shipping until the 17th... I will never buy from them again!

Got email confirmation of shipment of my order. Didn't receive it. Called to be told to wait another 3 business days. Waited 2 weeks and called to be told it was USPS. Adamant that the matter be investigated further. Told it was USPS and the package was with USPS. Pushed harder for info. Finally, some little genius in the foreign call center contacted the Distribution Center to find out that my order was never shipped. Boston Proper thinks they are bending over backwards to... issue a refund. I could have shopped with another retailer for swimwear, but after a month all the clearance items are gone.

Don't order from them
February 12, 2017

They continue to withhold my refund of nearly 50.00. Every time I call or ask they tell me they are so busy, it will take an extra 7 days. I returned my merchandise Jan. 3,2017. On Jan. 17, they confirmed said merchandise was received in their warehouse. But they still haven't refunded my money. Every time I email them now they are telling me they haven't received my return. This was verified twice, but now they have can't find it.

Save yourselves time and never shop Boston Proper. Deceiving sizes, and when you want to exchange the items, poor customer service. No help, talked to the supervisor, no help. Too bad! It used to be a good company. Now they are going down and loose a lot of business... too bad...

BUYER BEWARE

Hopefully you like what you purchased because it took them 5 months to issue my refund of over $500. They have terrible costumer service, I spoke to one manager that refused to give me his name... there are too many clothing companies to buy from, I will never give them another dime of my money!

NO CUSTOMER SERVICE

I placed an order and within an hour saw something was wrong size.called and the rep WOULD NOT change the size, ( not even getting a supervisor) They refuse to accommodate me and I just spent over $1000. They barely speak English either. Guess they don't value their customers because with that service I will no longer be one.

I am a long time customer of Boston Proper and am very disappointed. I was an advertisement for their store wearing the clothes and telling everyone where I purchased them. Now if you purchase an item on sale no matter what type of item they will not return it is final sale. That is fine in a store but not for mail order when you can't try the item on. Every body is different. After ordering a bathing suit from them it was back ordered. I found another suit. Boston mailed the suit late and refused to send a refund even though shipping the suit late was their error. The suit looks uneven and cheap which is also unacceptable even for sale prices at their store. I tried to post this as a review to warn other consumers and they keep blocking it. Customer Service told me there is nothing they can do. I am on a mission to find somewhere to shop. Target had a cuter, cheaper bathing suit.

I ordered five items. Three came in the box and noted on the receipt enclosed that four things were including jacket that was over $100. They charged me for it and claimed it was sent in the package. Ultimately after using up my valuable time, they credited it back. Then they said the pant i ordered was back ordered, I cancelled it. It came a month later and now I have to deal with a return and argue shipping charges. I also exchanged a separate pant and sent in a month ago. There is no trace even of my order claiming i never ordered it -- then how did it get in the package!? So now I'm out $55 plus shipping and handling on something I never actually received.

Stay away

Clothes are nice, but its women's clothes so the sizing is all over the place. I bought a dress for my wife, but the size was too big.

So we ask for an exchange, not a refund mind you, an
Exchange. They said dress was a clearance item and non-returnable. So, we have a dress too big.

Not a big deal to go to a seamstress, but why buy here if there is a barrier to returns fit?

Terrible.
