BritBox garners mixed feedback, with many customers expressing appreciation for its diverse and engaging content, particularly in the realm of British television. However, significant concerns arise regarding the platform's technical reliability and customer service. Users frequently encounter issues with streaming interruptions, difficulties in canceling subscriptions, and unresponsive support channels, leading to frustrations over billing practices. The overall sentiment suggests that while the content quality is valued, the user experience is hampered by navigational challenges and inadequate assistance, prompting some customers to seek alternatives. Addressing these operational shortcomings could enhance customer satisfaction and retention.

Wonderful programs if you could watch them. We have 50bps Internet speed and it takes an average of 15 minutes to get to watch list and another 5 minutes to get program to load and then it buffers all the way through. Don't have the problem on other streaming platforms
What is up with British crime shows and their preoccupation with shows with corrupt cops? You'd think British police are so inept they can't tell right from wrong. Currently watching Redemption with the main character stupid enough to hide evidence of her deceased daughters drug dealings. Maybe some wank thinks this makes the show more interesting, I just find it disgusting and a repeat of so many of British crime dramas.
If you have read and loved Longworth's Provence mystery books, you will HATE this show. NOT true to the books!
I canceled my subscription to prime in April of this year, and that also canceled my Britt box. I got a confirmation email that Britbox is canceled, but I was still being billed for it. I contacted customer service who told me I had two subscriptions, which I didn't, under the same email. I sent him a screenshot of the cancellation from britbox I sent him a screenshot of my TV showing that I could not login, It was subscribe payment screen. I asked for a screenshot of the screen he was looking out indicating I had a second account he would not send it.
I ended up contacting my bank they put a block on BritBox for year so they would not be able to charge me again my bank is returning my money and they are going to pursue BritBox for it.
The worst customer service!
The cancelation policy really sucks. It reminds me of Netflix in the beginning. Movies were terrible so I cancel but no money back out $76.00 dollars. Will never order again..
I live in the states and really like to watch British TV. Of course it was great. New programs to me but quickly realized that new or newer programs are few and far between, says just added, but there's nothing new for weeks or mths. Is there a certain time of the mth that they actually add new programs? Adding very old programs is BS... its not worth the money
I purchased 1 year subscription and cannot use. I have spent hours with their "tech support" and they have done nothing but waste my time. I have thrown away that money.
DO NOT SUBSCRIBE.
I've never had an app make me sign in almost every time I turn it on it's ridiculous it's not that cheap and they make you go to flaming hoops every time you want to watch it I'm definitely not renewing it again after my subscription and it's totally not worth it
They really need to fix this problem if they wanna keep their subscribers it's ridiculous
I was completely satisfied with my subscription until suddenly unable to view on my second TV.
Contacted customer support that was unable to resolve issue and passed me off to other customer service.
Still not resolution.
Canceled subscription due to lack of customer service.
Given to me as a gift because I love British TV, but this US Britbox app is junk. They highlight a new show non-stop but I tried watching Why Didn't They Ask Evan several times and it buffers, plays 2 seconds, buffers on and on for 2 days now. Happens frequently. Don't even get me started on having to sign in EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU TRY TO WATCH IT. No other app requires constant sign in or buffers like this one. Don't waste your money.
I know Britain is on another continent, but if they are unable to do the job, why are they accepting money from customers in the USA? I have had problems with the streaming service ever since I signed up 4 years ago. Now there is literally no solution they are willing to offer for logging in on my TV. My credit card I had on file had a fraudulent charge, so I was issued another card. This was not a problem on my laptop, but I have tried to get help for logging in on my TV and after 6 weeks of trying, it looks impossible. The 2 customer service phone numbers they have listed online do not work. I begged them to give me a workable number with nothing offered. After multiple emails in which they repeated themselves telling me to try a password they created, of which tried 6 or 7 times, they finally called me and I was in the shower. When I called back, (6 times now since yesterday) the automated message says, " There are no service agents available right now, call back later," end of call. I'm afraid discontinuing service would be just as difficult. Their customer service is a joke.
I have been charged for Britbox on a monthly basis by EE even though I never agreed to this add-on. The customer service from EE has been really poor and I have tried again and again to have the add-on removed with no luck. I have been charged £5.99 monthly for an app which I don't use and EE have been most unhelpful in dealing with my complaint about Britbox as an add-on. Britbox is not an app I use and I'm not interested in being charged unfairly for this add-on by a large mobile provider making too much money out of customers like me. Not impressed with Britbox and I'm not surprised to see there are many negative reviews on their customer service.
There is no option to unsubscribe, after you discover many missing episodes in the box sets, emailing them for help to unsubscribe won't do anything either, they don't reply, (no surprise since the option isn't accessible and they ask for your card details before the free trial), slimy people. Will be pursuing legally, hope everyone speaks up to save others the bother.
Honestly it is a gamble as to whether Britbox will work at any given time or not. Definitely the least reliable streaming service I've ever come across. It's a shame because the available content is great - it's just that you can't always access it.
I can't understand all the negative reviews about Brit Box.
I have subscribed Brit Box through Roku and have never had problems.
My favorites feature detectives Frost and Poirot.
I love the content and am very satisfied.
I canceled my subscription in December'21. BritBox went ahead and charged my visa for another year's subscription fee on 12-31-21. Despite numerous emails and calls to their customer service no refund has been issued. They don't even respond to the emails. Beware!
I signed up and paid with a credit card. They told me I had a 7 day free trial. After I paid, they told me I wasn't eligible for a free trial. So, I cancelled. I was told during the cancellation I could watch for the remaining 28 says, and if I changed my mind, I could reactivate. That's good, but it wasn't true. I found that out when I tried to watch a show in the following days. I was locked out and they wanted me to pay AGAIN. I saw the transaction had already been processed by my credit card company. BUT on the cancellation acknowledgement email, there was a huge REACTIVATE button. Ah, that's good, I thought so I pressed it. But I found out that button did not work, I was still locked out! So, I called them. A recording answered and said, "This is Britbox. There is nobody here to answer your call." And hung up! Didn't tell me when an agent might be there to help me. Nothing! In closing, you can take your chances with them if you are a losing gambler. But if you're foolish enough to take their 12 month deal for the price of 10, at $69 95, you're probably better off to make an appointment with a therapist and find another streaming app/company that is reliable and knows how to run a business.
It's December 2021 and Britbox is still demanding two credit cards, one from the purchaser of the gift subscription who has been charged up front, and one for the RECIPIENT just to redeem a paid-for gift. Then the recipient has to cancel within 24 hours to prevent being charged automatically next year. Like a former commenter I will contacting my state AG and anyone else I can think of. I don't see how this is legal.
Lots of really old Brit tv, which I've already seen. However, lots of shows with no closed captioning which makes me reconsider keeping a subscription. I can't really understand some of the British accents and closed captioning really helps. There are some shows I would like to see but if I can't get closed Captioning, I will let this subscription expire.
The app is most irritating. For a single programme, it sometimes quits with a swirly sign and acts as if the programme had ended normally. For a serial, it quits and starts the next episode. It has done that sporadically for the year that I have used it, on a Samsung TV bought just over a year ago.
After several complaints when I was told to make sure that the app was the latest one, without success, I was told tat I needed to clear the app's cache on the TV. This is a fiddly job, hard to navigate to. I do not see why I have to do this, the app should be in charge of its own memory.
The final straw yesterday was that the app either did not load at all, or if it did after several attempts, it ignored the navigation buttons on the remote. Repeated restarts gave one time when it obeyed and when a programme was selected I got a grey screen of death.
