Scam artist and cons are using this site. Also these large USDA puppy mills produce a lot of pups at our rageous prices. Beware of dapple/merle pups. As some of these uneducated mills breed dapple to dapple or merle to merle to get more merle/dapple pups in a litter. These pups then can have eye, ear and other health problems from this bad genetics. I bought pup that was Akc registered and when I got pedigree to see background of pup the pedigree was full of unregistered dogs which were transfered from a pet registry. Even Akc is accepting anything for registry. It's all about the coins the integrity and dignity of registration has been discarded for the almighty dollar. Like these large breeding facilities where parent of pups are treated like livestock. Then when they no longer can produce they end up at swap meets, rescues, humane societies or put down. Same with any pups that can't be sold. Find a repeatable honest breeder where quality is more of a concern than quantity.
I found a breeder named "moose" on this site in June of 2020 which is associated with Pine acres puppies…I purchased a French Bulldog that was from OHIO and I picked her up from a handler in NJ… right out of the gate, this dog was diagnosed with congenital pulmonary stenosis, Her first six months she constantly had a parasite she had diarrhea. She was vomiting. She had bloody diarrhea. Finally after getting All of that Under control and on a really good food, she did well for a little while until she started to develop a strange spasm in both of her back legs. The vet noted that her back legs were much longer back than the French bulldog. The spasms in her legs started when she was five months old. Then she developed a seizure disorder, Then she developed cancer … the spasms never stopped and They continued until July 5 of this year 2024 where the spasms started to take over her life and started to happen in her front paws as well… for the past six months I watched my poor girl suffer from Seizures And these debilitating spasms that were result of neurological problems in her genes. On 7/5/2024 at just 4 years old I had to say goodbye to buy Sophie …her suffering was taking over her life, she didn't play anymore she was becoming aggressive with her pain and all 18 pills she took a day were not helping! Please I beg you stay away from any breeder named moose in Ohio associated with Pine acres puppies …I'm beyond heartbroken that I had to put her to sleep to end her misery and continue my own. I spent thousands of dollars on this dog, Over the past four years thankful she had insurance, but the bills were still extremely high. This poor dog had to go to the vet constantly, including the emergency vet her last few days. She was so restless she could not get comfortable. There was nothing I could do for this poor girl except her free so she could run wild without any pain

Hello Scott. Thank you for your thoughts concerning our website and it's users. We do not support puppy mills or unethical breeding practices. We also do our best to verify advertisers/breeders before they can advertise on our website. We strive to make our site a safe place for the public to find healthy puppies. If you have had an experience that contradicts our values, please email us with details so that we can look in to it. Thank you! Contact@BuckeyePuppies.com
I was looking at a puppy for a while and the website said that the pup was still available, I texted them asking if he was and all I got was "no" that's it. And it still says the pups available. Unprofessional.
Tip for consumers:
Nope just that you shouldn't advertise a pup that isn't available and be kinder

Nothing
Hello Tess, We are sorry to hear that you had a negative experience with a breeder on our website. It is unfortunate that the puppy that caught your eye was no longer available. I checked our website and see that the puppy "Tanner" is no longer available, so it is possilbe that the puppy had just sold and the breeder had not yet marked him sold. I did see that they have another puppy, "Hunter" available. It's too bad that the breeder did not inform you of any other options or pups that were available. Communication is very important and unfortunatley communication via text message can be taken in the wrong light. We hope that you were able to find a puppy that catches your eye, and if not, we wish you the best in your search for your new furry companion.
I am trying to make everyone aware of a breeder in Fresno,Ohio. We bought a puppy from Norman Mast. Very questionable conditions. Showed us the mother and the father and the mother could not even walk. She was so neglected. Tried to text Norman Mast today to ask if our teddy bear dog was a gray blue merle. These are known for hearing and vision problems. From the parents, they told us was hers, there is no way we could have a blue merle, but I'm pretty certain she is. When asking him about this nicely, he blocked me from his cell phone number. The only way to contact him. Red flag everyone. Please do not support puppy mills. The Mast family is big into this. There is a Sam Mast who was on the puppy mill list. They are all related. We need to shut these places down one tragedy at a time. Very curious also about what happens to the poor mom and dad once their breeding years and money making days are over. Hope Buckeye Puppies does not delete this post. Super important.

Purchasing a puppy
Hello Linda, Thank you for your review. We do not support puppy mill operations and would like to hear more about your experience. Again, we do not support puppy mills and will look into claims of such on our website. We advocate for healthy and humane breeding practices. Please email your concerns and information to contact@lancasterpuppies.com. Thank you!
If you buy from this site, you are a big part of the problem! Please rescue or buy from a reputable, ethical breeder. This is not the way! Don't be that person.
Hello Nancy, Thank you for your concern about puppy mills. Buckeye Puppies encourages ethical breeding practices and in no way do we support puppy mills or poor breeding practices. We do our best to vet each seller on our website. Also, if there are questionable practices, we do investigate and if the breeder is a puppy mill or is unethical in their breeding practices, we no longer allow them to advertise. We have many happy dog owners that have found their new furry friends on our website and many go back to their breeders for additional puppies to add to their family.
We bought 2 puppies 10 weeks old and they both have Parvo. We didn't have any paperwork from the seller. We can't prove anything but we don't care as much about the money as we do the fact that he still has puppies for sale on the website after we told him ours were sick. He can continue to sale sick puppies that will likely suffer and die without hospitalization. $2600 later, ours will make it. Cruel to breed if your farm is contaminated. Beware buyers. Forget getting help from humane society m or A.S.P.C.A. We keep getting referred to different agencies. Now it's ohio dept. Of agricultural. What a shame.
I bought my dog this morning and she's amazing but unfortunately was never treated or checked for fleas. She's infested with them! Make sure when you buy a puppy from them you check and ask if they actually have given their puppy proper treatment…informed the breeder and said she never checked for them.
Saw yorkshire terrier puppy advertised in Bluffton, Indiana for $625. Made arrangements to pick up puppy next day, Paul tells me puppy is well socialized, time with his kids, etc. I get there and there's a huge outside chain link kennel, puppy had never been inside. I pay and then told "no, she's $800", said someone else must have changed the price. This was a straight up puppy mill, brought her home with me after telling him what I thought. Poor thing is terrified, glued to my side. Shame on them! So glad I rescued her. Hoping Indiana officials see this and take action!

I saved the puppy
I found my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel from a breeder on this website. She is perfect. Now almost 10 months old. Healthy, smart, playful.
While I support rescue it wasn't for me at this time in my life. CKCS rescue have long wait lists, and the fee's $$$. My Amish breeder was raising one kind of dog in there home, with there children helping. The puppy's were very well cared for. Vet checked, vaccinated Microchip and came with a one-year health guarantee. My puppy is AKC registered.
My puppy is 10 months old and dying of congential kidney failure. I hate to see her suffering and I called the guy I purchased her from and he doesn't answer his phone. He insisted she was in good health. Don't buy from this breeder. You heart will be broken.
So I was lucky enough to have the sweetest cutest and loving mini golden-doodle ever. But this site support puppy mills at its finest. I drove two hours from Toledo to apples Creek Ohio. She looked so small in her pictures but when I picked her up the Amish breeder was shock that I was black person then try to tell me how take care of my golden doodle but didn't tell me she didn't have any of her shots but lie on the ad saying Lindsay was up to date. Lindsay was only 3 months when I bought her home. She had ear infection bad sooo thanks to the breeder that try tell me how to take care of her hair instead of actually getting the dog shots and check up on her health DONT BUY FROM HERE PLEASE ITS ALL Amish PUPPY MILLS
Hello Kodak, We are pleased to hear that you are happy with your sweet mini golden-doodle puppy. We are not in support of puppy mills and do our best to screen breeders and we also look in to complaints about breeders that are puppy mills. We advocate healthy and humane breeding practices. We advertise for people all over the country and some are professional kennels and others are families that have a pet that they breed to share with the public. If you have legitimate concerns about the breeder that you got your puppy from, please let us know by emailing us at contact@LancasterPuppies.com. Thank you very much!
This website is strictly an advertising board for Amish Puppy Mills. Cheap, dirty and unhealthy puppies and they really don't seem to care. Steer clear. We got a female Golden Retriever that turned out to have a congenital heart murmer and conjunctivitis in both eyes. We got a "sorry" from them and a very expensive bill from our vet.
Wanted a Pom saw her on line thought I was corresponding to the breeder with info on the pups parents but she was the middle person. Gave me an address to an Armish farm. Traveled 5 hours. Saw pup purchased what I was told was a Pom for $950. Only to find out now the dog is a mixed breed of three different lineages. Buyers beware

Photographer doesn't even show me the pictures before advertising the puppies onn the website
Just takes the pictures and puts them online
If this doesn't change i might switch to someone else
Hello Ervin, Thank you for bringing this to our attention. In the future, simply ask the photographer to view the pictures when they are there. If you have large litters, let the scheduler know that you will need extra time with the photographer. The photographers are on a schedule and like to get the best pictures possible so they can move on to the next customer. Thank you for understanding.
We bought a Cairn Terrier puppy from an Amish family in Centerville, IN. I can't really say that they are what I consider to be a "puppy mill". They have 4 females that they breed. The shelter that the dogs had was actually nicer than the house... in my opinion. The dogs were all well cared for, socialized and happy.
I felt like they really loved the dogs. The price was comparable to what rescues are charging for adoptions and honestly, I didn't have to jump through the hoops that the rescues were making us do. She had been to the vet and got a clean bill of health at our vet. So no complaints! We love our spunky little girl and she fits right in with the family of kids, dogs, cats.
We bought a mix breed puppy off this site rather than rescuing (which is what I usually do) and I went against my better judgement. This pup was a lot older than what we were told, had never seen a vet and they met us at a public place and wouldn't let us see either parent or where they were being kept. Everything that screams puppymill. I handed over the money and the pup was handed to my son. He has a major defect with his penis and requires thousands of dollars in surgery to fix it because it was left like that for so long. How can someone ignore something so obvious like that. Would not recommend

We were successful in finding a wonderful, healthy mini Pompsky puppy through this site. I texted the seller and she immediately replied and even offered to reduce the price by $300. We drove 2.5 hours to central OH (Amish Country)and were able to see the entire litter in the front yard of the breeder's home. They were all clean, up to date on vaccinations and dewormer, microchpped, and vet checked.
We decided on a different puppy from the one we originally thought we wanted.
My advice is to not buy from anyone who requires a deposit or wants to deliver for an additional fee. It's important to go on-site to make sure it's not a mill.
The puppy we adopted was listed as vet checked, up on vaccines and microchiped. When we went to get her I asked how we transfered her microchip to us and was told she is not microchiped when asked about vet checked he told us that he does not take his dogs to the vet - he just gets info from other breeders. We got there 1/2 hour early and she was getting a bath she still smelled a little like poop. I never would have left that dog there! She's a great little dog and we love her to pieces but I would never get another pet through internet advertizing! And we never got a bill of sale.
Hello, We are sorry that you were not happy with the breeder that you adopted your puppy from. We strive to educate breeders that advertise on our site. Healthy, happy and clean puppies is what we strive for. If you have a complaint about the breeder that advertised on our site, you can contact us at contact@lancasterpuppies.com. Thank you!
Betty is the middle man for puppy mills to sell their dogs to people all over the country. Buckeye Puppies recently brokered a Bernadoodle to a buyer in NJ. The Bernadoodle was diagnosed with pneumonia a week later and is now dying of distemper yet Betty has done nothing to hold the breeder ( Joe and Arlene Mast of Baltic OH) accountable for selling sick dogs. She says on her website "fI we receive a report or complaint about a seller, we investigate, take down their advertisements, and ban the seller if necessary." But she has not taken down his ads and continues to promote his puppy mill and sick dogs.
This entire dog selling business is horrible and the Amish treat these animals like livestock, not pets. I highly suggest you go to a local breeder you can visit many times to see the conditions or better yet ADOPT from your local shelter.
I purchased a Morkie puppy in September 2022 from an Amish man named Lonnie Yoder from Bennington Indiana. Turns out to find that my little darling was diagnosed with a liver shunt and had to undergo a tap to drain fluid from her abdomen. Fast forward to April 2023, today I had to have my beloved Willow euthanized. Overbreeding caused this issue in my puppy and these people need to be stopped because it's terrible they get away with breeding so often these pups are predisposed to genetic conditions. I loved my dog Willow and I and so distraught and in complete distress because she was the most amazing dog and her life was cut short because these people overbreed causing this genetic condition.
Victoria, We're so sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with purchasing a puppy from a breeder on our site. If you haven't reached out to us already, and would still like to do so. Please contact us at contact@buckeyepuppies.com to let us know more about this issue and the service that you received from the breeder. Thank you
I bought my puppy 8 months ago and she's perfect. I picked her up from a lovely family, the living conditions clean and they were very nice!. NOT ALL OF THESE SELLERS ARE BAD!. Just do your reseach. Have a wonderful day!
My boyfriend and I bought a silver lab puppy from Buckeye Puppies a few months ago and it got sick a week after I purchased the puppy. The puppy has diaherra constantly and goes all day and all night. I have paid over $1,000 dollars in vet bills and took her to multiple vets and they said she has roundworm and a parasite called Giradia. I did two rounds of treatments and this puppy is still sick and not getting better and I have no idea what to do. DO NOT BUY from this site you will waste money and end up with a sick puppy and be stressed all the time. Now I have this beautiful puppy that I cannot fix and it's very sad.
My husband and I saw an ad for a lovely Yorkshire terrier puppy from a breeder in Madison, Indiana. They were selling at least 15-20 random Yorkshire terrier puppies and most looked nothing like a Yorkie. Red flag #1. We found a cute 8 week old pup and contacted the seller. She preferred we have her husband deliver the pup to our home. We weren't that far so we didn't mind. However, she demanded a $500 deposit and delivery fee. They never ended up delivering the dog. She then got in contact with me when the dog was 20 weeks old and said he would be there next week. Guess what? Next week came and no dog again. When I checked into her background it turns out she is an online dog scammer. Basically, she has no dogs and is not a breeder she just steals money from people and claims it's a "deposit". We contacted the website to please remove the seller and her post because it is just a scam but they did not. Please be wary of anybody on that website. Also, lancasterpuppies.com is their sister site. They have the same posts and the same scams.
Found a black lab puppy (Per breeder...We saw Mom but not Dad)available beginning of December and contacted the woman. She needed a PayPal deposit. I sent it. Said she never got it and gave the puppy away to someone else. Come to find out she gave me the wrong email for PayPal. Well, I received my deposit back but now had no dog. She let me know a black litter had recently been born and would be available at the end of December. Some of her dates didn't add up but I ignored it. We picked up our puppy December 27. He was little but had HUGE paws. We love big dogs! As he got older even the vet was surprised by some of his growth and how his fur and its coloring was coming in. We mentioned it would be fun to do a DNA test. Well, 3 weeks later, we find out our black lab puppy is 78% border collie and honestly the other 22% is a mystery but lab was not listed! Honestly, I think when she gave away the black lab puppy that I thought I put a deposit on she panicked or something and went to one of the other Amish breeders in town and retrieved whatever black puppy they had. I did let her know. She was apologetic and claimed to not know her lab was shacking up with the neighbor dog. I am going to do another dna test to hopefully see some lab or at least get more genetic info on boarder collies. Please get allllll information before buying. Ask for a DNA test before hand. Something. Maybe other breeders on this site do that already? We love our boy. He could be part goldfish for all I care. He's so goofy and lovable and gives the best kisses...he's just not a black lab
Sara, Thank you for sharing your experience. We're sorry that you had a negative experience with a breeder on our site! If you would still like support for your puppy purchasing experience please contact us at contact@buckeyepuppies.com.
Let me start out by saying, we absolutely love our puppy!
I started talking to Alice on the site. We were supposed to get a Micro Mini Golden Doodle, weighing up to 15lbs full grown. He was also supposed to be microchipped and were told he was 16 weeks old.
We communicated through text messages, and responses from Alice took a few days to get back. (she did the behind the scenes work for the seller)
When we picked Buster up, we could tell that he was not a "Micro." I would never have not taken him. We fell in love with him immediately. He was so playful and fun. The man I picked him up from said he would probably be around 17lbs full grown….
Buster went to the vet last week. He weighed 13.4lbs. When my husband mentioned him being 16 weeks old our vet said, he is no way 16 weeks old, maybe 10-11 weeks tops.(she could tell by his teeth. He doesn't even have all his baby teeth. That's how they can tell his age)
I messaged Alice telling her about not being 16 weeks and could we possibly get his correct birthdate and of course no response.
So in the end, we absolutely love Buster! We have no idea how old he is, he's not microchipped and he's not a Micro Mini( maybe a Mini but we don't even know that.
I'm not sure if the original dog we saw in the site was possibly sold twice, so we were given a different dog, or what exactly has happened, just please do your research and ask questions when you get there.
Once again, I don't want to return the pup, I don't want my money back, just the accurate dob.
Hello Sherrie, We are sorry for your negative experience with the breeder and his agent. Communication is very important when purchasing and making a big decision and commitment of buying a puppy. If you would like to discuss this further, you can email us at contact@buckeyepuppies.com and we will be in touch! We are however happy that you love and are enjoying your new puppy. Hopefully the breeder will get back to you with more details on Buster's birth date.
Hello Kristin, I'm very sorry to hear of the experience you had with your beloved Sophie. Have you reached out to the breeder "Moose"? We wish you the best and again, we are sorry to hear of the experience that you had with Sophie.
